Thank you for all the work you have done on the yearbook, the ring research and all! It's great to have all the team working together.

I hope you get feeling better real soon.

ETA: Lion is a real smarty pants when it comes to jewelry, lol :)

Rknowley, you're amazing. Can't even say enough.

Lion, I have no idea how you do it all with the dogs and everything.. You were right about the ring being from the 70's.... it's true.

Meantime, I'm truckin through! Doctor tomorrow..... *doom music*

Thank you RKnowly:). Th only thing about ring is that it, and the other jewelry Princess had on could have also been worn up until the late 80's or so.

So very true. I sure hope we are able to get the autopsy report on Princess Blue. I don't see why we shouldn't be able to. Then we can decide if she could have been a 1975 class alumni or not and go from there..where ever that is, lol

Now that I see both rings side by side I notice that although there are similarities, there are noticeable differences, too. For example, Princess Blue's ring has a more detailed design even down to the hooves.

This gave me another idea. If we cannot get a better TOD than, "unknown" either by any possible updates on any sites or after reading the ME report, why not send this to several jewelry stores and ask for their opinion as to when it was possibly designed and/or in style. We would need to sift through the answers though--some may have more knowledge and a better memory than others. I think it would be most reliable if we did not tell them the time period it could be from--the answer off the top of some one's head might be the most useful. What are your thoughts folks?

I think that sounds like an excellent idea. It's good to come up with a game plan in case the autopsy report doesn't help us with what we need.

Thank you RKnowley and Jaded. I would like to find jewelry stores perhaps even in the Houston area that sell and sold that basic style of jewelry--even back then in the 70's and 0's. Now that could be a trick.

Hi Lion,

I guess you could try posting on the HAIF (Houston Architecture Info Forum) forum under the Historic Houston Forum and ask about what jewelry shops there may have been back then?

Houston Architecture Info Forum - HAIF® > General > Historic Houston

ETA: This thread is kind of fun to look at. They are talking about the 70's in Houston.

You are welcome Lion. Don't you just wish we were all there in TX and had access to everything regarding Princess Blue and doing the sleuthing right there? We are all working doing various things as a team. That's what makes it all great. Are we all waiting for the autopsy report before continuing on with the yb and contacting alumni? I think MrsG and Sable are getting pretty close to having it all there. Someone mentioned contacting the class president to get current addresses on the alumni. Is that correct? So if we are going to do that perhaps we should stop looking for contact info until we know for sure what we have and what we don't or?

(http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1428403#post1428403 post 358) in response to an email he received early on is posting there, too. Funny how that works out, isn't it. Tis' a small world after all:).

I just did something that takes the brains of an ice cube:D:. I tried to register for the forum above to talk with icepickphil and others about jewelry and jewelry stores that might carry or may have carried any of Princess Blue's jewelry. I accidentally clicked the button that indicates that I am under 14.

Duh.... Now it will not let me register unless I have a parent fax or mail a letter giving me permission to join the forum:laugh:  . Does anyone else want to join the forum and ask questions about the jewelry and possible jewelry stores in Houston that might have sold Princess' style jewelry?:blushing:  .

P.S. My mom denied me the permission letter:laugh::laugh:

It would be easier if we had everyone living temporarily in Houston lol. But, since I have been working with this group I have felt a sense of friendship and team effort with each person here that I could never have imagined. And, that makes up for the fact that we are spread throughout the country:blowkiss:.

I think we are waiting for those two things, yes. I have not received a call back from the ME's office to give me info on the cost and how to send payment. Hopefully, I will soon. And, once the yb is up we can move on that. I don't recall hearing that we might want to get current info to contact alumni, but I think it is a great idea. We may also ask them for a list of alumni that they have never been able to find. That could be very helpful, and we can perhaps work doubly hard to find them. I doooo love a challenge, and that could sure be one lol.

OHhhhhhh...I thought I recognized the name "icepickphil", now I remember.
Interesting!

How come we all accept the name, icepickphil, so well while working on a murder case:D ? I better watch my words in case he comes back and reads this, huh?

Ahhhh! Now that is one bad a$$ smiley, and it sure has me running for cover!:D:

Actually, I imagine icepickphil has a perfectly non-bizarre reason for choosing his hat. And, he was nice and helpful. I really did want to know how he chose his hat, though.
