Ok, in going back over old stuff with a fine tooth comb, I have a new theory on how HG fits into the picture.
Remember on Jan 6 NG show, Jack says:
JACK SMITH: ... but we have -- we have focused our life for the last few days since all this happened. We`re on the phone all day, trying to find out as much information. We have contacts. We have sources. Ain`t that cool? We have sources in San Antonio with a radio station and -- radio and telephone stations there.
I got to thinking that I don't know about any RADIO interviews that TayJay did once they started making the media rounds - seemed like it was always television.
Does JS have CONTACTS with a radio station in San Antonio because of his years in the music industry? Could the HG be an employee of the radio station that JS knows - or even the son of his "contacts" at the station?
Do we know if Dec 22 or Dec 23 was the first time EJ was seen with HG? (I'm guessing not earlier, since no one knows where EJ was between the time she picked up Gabe from TS on Dec 18 and the time she checked into the hotel on Dec 22.) If it was Dec 23, then the following makes sense.
This is how I put this together. If EJ calls AU to babysit on Dec 23 sometime between Dec 19 and Dec 21 (remember, she hadn't checked into the hotel until DEC 22), where was she when she called? Had EJ already arrived in TX by Dec 19 and been staying at a shelter (like TS claimed)? And did she leave the shelter because she was told she needed to file charges against LM in order to stay there with Gabe LEGALLY, and she didn't want to do it and be found? So, she checked into the hotel on Dec 22, and had an appointment (that JS arranged) to meet HG at the radio station on Dec 23 (which is why she "dressed up" - she didn't know who she might run into at the station and wanted to look sexy).
EJ meet HG and HIS WIFE (I'll explain below) at the radio station. They agree to meet EJ at the hotel later that day to see what they can do to help her.
When EJ gets back from her appointment, she has the phone call about what do you want me to do, come back? I'm now guessing that HG had told EJ that he would help her find a job in SA if she wants to stay, but since staying in SA for the long haul was NOT part of TPS's plan (since the plan was to either keep Gabe hidden long enough to force LM to sign the adoption papers OR to just stay in Texas long enough to get LM's parental rights terminated so EJ would be free to let TPS adopt Gabe), TPS told EJ the plan wasn't working and that she should come home, but EJ didn't want to.
EJ is seen with HG, but no mention of Gabe being with her has been made. If EJ is trying to hide, I don't think she would leave Gabe in the hotel room alone in case he started crying and drew attention to her room - and the fact that he was alone. IF HG is married, his wife could have been babysitting in the hotel room with Gabe while EJ and HG went off to talk about her situation.
The couple seen in the parking lot with EJ and HG may have been a couple that HG knows and introduced to EJ to help her figure out what she wants to do with her life (since she told AU when AU asked if EJ needed her again that she didn't know since she didn't know what she wanted to do with her life - so I'm guessing that at this point EJ HAD NO PLANS to go to FL), or to meet EJ and Gabe so that they could help babysit Gabe when EJ needed to get out of the hotel, or even to talk about EJ putting Gabe up for adoption (since I don't think HG knew the whole truth or that TayJay's plan was to get Gabe for themselves all along).
TPS quickly arranged for a couple to drive to TX to pick up Gabe on Dec 26 (the day she knew was the last day that EJ had paid for at the hotel so that EJ couldn't disappear with Gabe or give him to anyone else) and bring him back. EJ went to the park for the handoff, bought her bus ticket, and took off. She texted LM about killing Gabe so that LM wouldn't start looking for a living Gabe (since she figured TayJay would be the first place they'd look for him, and at that point EJ was protecting them since she thought they had HER back).
I think she had no plans about where she was going, bought a ticket to the farthest place from SA she could get, and then found out that the hostel where she was found was cheap, so she could afford to stay there awhile while she figured out what she wanted to do. She was excited to start her new life, because, for the first time, SHE felt SHE was in charge of her life!
