why doesn't the judge bring the hammer down on nurmi and his speaking objections? his tone and the added 'she's answered that like 3 times now' is OUT OF ORDER!!!! also, what he calls 'argumentative' isn't. it's just cross examination from my experience.

the judge has been allowing nurmi to say his snarky objections from the beginning, he should know that his behavior is not helping. ja is snarky and nurmi also snarky. if i were a juror i would be irritated. but then i would realize that it's just a distraction tactic. jmo

I don't know if this was posed but Mr. Martinez needs to emphasize that in those 62 seconds, Travis also stood at the sink coughing and dripping blood. So his back would have been to Jodi. This was likely when she stabbed him in the back. Then he turned, she stabbed him in the chest and he collapsed in the hall and she finished him off.

It adds a few seconds and helps.

Another question, does anyone have a link to or record of the call log between Jodi and Travis. I remember about 2 minutes of calls while she was still around the Salinas area. Is there any records of calls or texts after that point?

BTW Hello everyone, I am a longtime lurker who appreciates the amazing posts and analyses on these boards. I won't be posting much as I have to do my catching up after work but thank you!

Jurors 5 and 13 have asked questions. Anyone remember who they are?

More have been submitted, so I'm assuming so. It would have to stop eventually, though, I would think.

They'll keep asking her questions until they get the logical answers they want. They really want to acquit her. :(

I read this somewhere else, but couldn't help posting it here

Last Jury question" So Miss Arias...what would you like for your last meal"

Well, he did get her to say she had the knife with her, so I think he is getting her to admit things and add more like TA maybe had the knife. She just keeps lying.

Really? I missed that! I thought she couldn't recall.

4:15 ET "supposedly"

until Nurmi has had his leisurely lunch and comes back to "may we approach" BS. I wonder if we all write the presiding Judge Norman Davis a note of disappointment if anything would change LOL :jail:

I totally agree!!! Nurmi is basically sending messages to his client with those speaking objections. That is disgraceful .... this judge it just horrible ... things are out of control ... and Martinez should be objecting to the speaking objections ....

I wouldn't be surprised if a future appeal might be granted because of the way this trial has been run. I'm starting to get a little worried in this regard. Things are really getting out of control on so many levels and this jury must be just collectively ripping their hair out ... glad I'm not sitting in that court room ... it's hard enough being a distant spectator :banghead:

I thought that was an answer to one of his "possible" questions

Yes but remember the fog didn't roll in until after she shot him, so speculating doesn't make sense she would know if she had the knife and the gun.

Now Arias is arguing that she cannot tell whether Travis' throat had been cut in that photo? So she will say most of the stabbing happened after that photo with her boot in it???

He's pinning her down to a definitive answer when she wants to be evasive only to come back later with her attorney to change it in her favor to whatever JM reveals. JM knows what he is doing. He's nailing her down to an answer she can't change. JM knew the minute he brought up the "where was the knife" that defense would have her come back with she believed Travis had it. JM was able to nail that down to no, Travis did not have a knife when he came at her. He's painting a picture for the jury that she did not have time to do everything she claimed to have done, such as run into the closet to get the gun. There were 62 seconds almost thirty stab wounds, a gun shot wound and his neck was slashed. That, in itself takes time so it appears as if running into the closet is a lie. If JM does not cover all the bases and fill in all that time for the jury, Jodi will with lies. jmo

Ha! Too bad she's already accounted for her injuries to both hands/fingers. No way for these to be defensive wounds from Travis having the knife at some point.

WELCOME to WS. Be careful - it's addicting. lol

Why Nurmi waited until Tuesday to file the Motions is so obvious...delay, delay, delay..

I agree. IMO, as excruciating as it has been to listen to her (and especially her atty) go on and on, thru the fog she keeps adding to her story. She has boxed herself into no time to do the murder as "self defense" and to taking and using three cans of gas because she preplanned the killing.
:jail:

Ya know what?? Two weeks ago it wasn't self defense. Why? Because in her parlaying with Juan, she spoke of the initial struggle.

Juan got her to admit she wasn't looking at him while he body slammed her and she was on the floor and he, standing over her, at her shins (so detailed she is!) Anyway....

Juan then asked this BRILLIANT question:
(paraphrasing) "so if you weren't looking at him, for all you know he might've been trying to help you up seeing you said he usually apologized immediately after your previous fights, right?"

If she didn't know what he was doing by her own admission then she had no right to kill him. And the trial should've ended right there and then.

But instead, the United States of America gets to pay for this ridiculous carnival freak show that doesn't appear to have an end in sight! Ugh!!

That's not necessarily true. The Scott Peterson jurors wanted answers from the defense right till the end and they sentenced him to death! :great:
