That is not what I meant. I meant that she wanted to look like a devout mormon only to be accepted by Travis and his friends, hence keeping the "appearance" of being mormon. She wasn't really interested in becoming mormon, it only benefited her to get closer to Travis.

I see what you are saying. When I was a young Mormon..lots of people converted to Mormonism. "Flirt to Convert" Google it. I knew a few young men that converted to Mormonism to be able to date a young Mormon woman in the hope of getting married and having sex!! It is strange and I think religion should be kept out of this trial.

Absolutely- great catch.

That and her talking about how strong she "gripped" the knife. JM didn't intro the word "grip" first, JA did. Very telling.

No, she left Daryl 4 days after meeting Travis!!! She traded up from Daryl by going to Travis, who was younger and wealthier. The Mormons came to visit after she met Travis. Daryl was already living in CA. He moved back to Monterey (N. CA from S. CA).

For any and all who think JM is being too harsh I challenge you to look at the autopsy pix -- I don't mean the crime scene pix or the pix in the shower showing the slit in his throat. I mean the pix of him on the table -- the pic showing 3 deep stabs to his chest, the pic of his back, neck and back of head all sliced up, the pic of his neck open so wide you see every layer of skin, muscles and all of his insides that will probably make you vomit. I won't post them here bc they will give 99% of the people nightmares!! They are AWFUL! JA is a spawn of satan and IMO Juan is being more than gentle to her given the nature of her crime and all of the lies to boot!!

Yep, she said it. When Nurmi had his chance at re-direct on the Juror questions today the last question he asked her was about why she didn't call 911 and photograph her "boo boos" from Travis' abuse. She said it was because she was "embarrassed". Part of that "embarrassment" over the "abuse" was because she admittedly "pushed his buttons". Nurmi looked like he wanted to punch a wall. I swear he was so pizzed at her he could spit. I really savored the moment (guilty pleasure). :great:

I think he is secretly a "Juanette" lol! Tonight I got in a little bit of "trouble" with him because there is something stinky in the fridge (and it's my fault - of course). He discovered some forgotten broccoli in the produce drawer and asked me when I bought it. I told him I didn't remember...and he said, in his best Juan Martinez voice, "Are you having a problem with your memory, Ma'am" and quickly followed up with "Would it surprise you to know that Publix has NO RECORD of you ever buying any broccoli?"

I'm a newbie here, so...sorry if I'm out of line, but for those who believe JM did not score some severely major points today, I have to respectfully disagree. First, cross examination is about keeping the witness unstable and off-guard; the whole point is to not let the witness prepare for her answers. So, if you noticed, JM was moving from topic to topic without any transitions...lack of organization is completely by design to keep JA off-guard. Second, cross (or in this case follow-up) is not about landing the ultimate "Perry Mason" moment. Rather, it is about gathering inconsistencies to be argued in closing argument.

So, today we learned:
1. That Jodi said last week that she thought the gun was in a holster, but today....she suddenly can't remember.
2. The 62 second timeline is impossible.
3. No reasonable person could believe that she climbed on the closet shelves without disturbing anything, or flipping one of the shelves.
4. She saw the gun three times: but, none of those times included seeing Travis "load the gun and take it with him." Today was the first time we heard this claim.
5. She remembers, crystal clear, only the events that support her self-defense claims. 6. The height of the closet will not support her version (IMO demonstrated clearly on closing).
7. She only uses Mormon doctrine when it demonstrates that Travis was a heretic.

There are more points that were made, but I thought today was the best day JM had so far. IMHO, at the end of the day, some of the subtle points of today will bite JA in the behind more than any of the obvious inconsistencies.

Please pardon the pretension of my first post, but I am an avid follower of this trial and have been a consistent lurker here!

And another creepy moment when Juan was showing her the picture of TA being dragged and she said, "I can't tell in that picture if his throat is slit."
It was like she was asking someone to pass the salt.

I think some people (this one guy on the left on the after dark show in particularly) don't understand what putting ones weight on a shelf would mean.... She would have had to bend her knee to put her foot on the shelf, and any height gained from that to reach the gun would have been a result of straightening the leg... I know it sounds so basic but if she used that leg to stand up higher her other foot would have had to come up off the floor because the grounded foot can't magically grow longer as she stands up on the shelf with the opposite foot. If the only foot in contact with a surface is the foot on the shelf, and she isn't pulling herself up with her arms, then that single foot is pushing 120lbs (or whatever her entire weight was at the time) of force onto that shelf. That's just physics lol. Weigh yourself on 1 foot, still weigh the same... Put your scale on a higher bench and take a single step onto it... Should still read the same.
Sorry if this is rudimentary, my dear Watsons. I just heard this guy say maybe she is "light on her feet" and that's why the shelving was undisturbed.... You can be graceful as can be but weight is weight.. Just sayin

I agree with you that Mormonism isn't on trial, but Jodi's defense team introduced it to show what a bad Mormon Travis was, when in reality that was Jodi's hold over him. Sex and blackmail within his church.

I did notice - I posted earlier that she was also using her RIGHT hand!! She had cuts on her right hand if you'll recall!! I personally think she used both hands at some point while stabbing him and slitting his throat! Thus the screwed up ring finger on the L hand and the cuts on the R hand. Just my humble opinion...

I just found the photos online; I had no idea there were more graphic ones! It looks like she sliced him as well- the marks seem marks of torture, slicing along the flesh, not just stabbing. Extremely sadistic. If the photo of the massive gaping hole that is his throat does not move someone to demand the death penalty, I don't know what will. If someone hasn't looked at the pictures, IMO, they have no right to sit in judgment of JM. It was bestial (no offence to the beasts of the earth).

Frankly I think the yelling of "******en die" was Jodi as she was stabbing Travis and that is why there are so many wounds on him. He would not go down and she had to fight to kill him. Travis never had the knife because if he had he would have stabbed her for sure. The only wound she had was from her hand sliding on the knife that was full of blood. Flores, himself, told Jodi that he has seen that type of injury before from someone who had stabbed another. She heard that being yelled, all right, but it came from her mouth and not Travis. jmo
