I love love love the realistic streamlined case the prosecution put on! This is way it's usually done.

I'm thrilled it wasn't a confusing overloaded mess. No three ring circus.

The break really concerns me. These people aren't sitting at home with earplugs in and blinders on. They have to go to work and listen to people around the watercooler or have folks come up and comment. They have to go to the grocery store with Natl Enquirer staring them in the face. They have family members/friends who are bursting to tell them what they've found out. And this is all in addition to each juror fighting their own curiosity to just glance online or at a magazine or newspaper.

And it's not just the break. I just don't understand why - in such a high profile death penalty case - these jurors aren't sequestered. :waitasec:

OK... I wasn't clear on the hair dye stuff. My apologies.

  • #144
Some people want a certain color car for other reasons.

Hair dye? That could be many reasons. Who wasn't going to recognize her?

We don't know where the weapons were. Say he slapped her... then she goes and gets one. Then attacks.

Of course she is going to lie... she didn't have any other options but to call the authorities IMO.

Seems if you take out the stolen gun... things are not so clear cut.

The fact she brought a gun and took it with her is all I need. I really don't care where she got it from or where it went. She shot him.

I don't see him getting shot first.

For one thing there is not much blood from that wound and he would have been incapacitated. Why so much blood in the bathroom and down the hall?

You can tell the blood from the head wound just went straight down his face.

Why 29 stab wound on head, back, neck, front, etc if already shot in the head?

Some of the wounds look like he was moving, others are packed together.

The gunshot path looks to me to be from someone standing over a prone body. It goes from the top of the head downward. No way he could have been standing in the shower and got shot there.

I think she shot him first or had at the very least intended to. I don't beleive she brought the knife with her. If she did, the knife was a backup weapon. I say this because I don't think she would have trusted herself to be able to take him down quickly enough with a knife. I think she shot him, the gun possibly jammed, and then she decided to use a knife.

Also, keep in mind a .25 is a small caliber firearm.

But the ninjas might come!

I forgot about the ninjas. Doubt my loofah will help fight off the ninjas. I'll have to look into the best way to combat bathroom ninjas.

That's funny, I actually have a couple of knives in my bathroom, I collect knives, but I'm not homicidal, nor do I fear anyone is going to attack me. No cameras (ick!) or guns...

I think many of us are trying to understand any aspect of JA & TA's relationship, while some parts seem almost normal, the rest (& certainly the outcome) are incredible...he seems like such a sweet guy, & I think he would be horribly embarrassed by the things that are coming out in this trial (& I am not judging him at all for his sexual activities, I think that was quite normal). I have a lot of sympathy for his family & friends, this must be difficult for them...

Hi, Thistle. A blame the victim defense is cruel, but in this case, I honestly think that the strength of Travis' friendship with his friends and family will get them through.

Jodi looks so much older and grimmer than she did in her media interviews. It seems to have sunken in. She is thirty-two years old and she will never again walk free, get married, have children, or share a full day with her friends. I guarantee that she will write a book and give interviews from prisons.

JA claimed that the ninjas new where her family lived by checking her registration but her license has a PO Box number.

Well, we know she isn't shy about lying. For her to testify... it could only be the same.

If she does testify, I'm sure the defense will be very careful. If they don't mention the gun or the knife, the prosecutor can't question her on that (unless the defense opens the door). The defense could just ask her one question: did TA abuse you? Yes or no.

It might be slightly effective, if the defense does it correctly, and makes it look like she was a victim rather than go into the details of the murder. The prosecutor wouldn't be able to go beyond the scope of the defense's line of questioning.

IMO - I hope she does take the stand!

How do you explain the fact he was down near the ground already when he was shot?

I think when Travis got in the shower, she got dressed. I think she duct taped that gun under her shirt....insurance purposes. She stabbed him in the heart....when he didn't immediate die she kept at it. She didn't shoot him until after she dragged him back to the bathroom.

Dr. Drew just made an interesting comment, but I only caught the tail end of it. He said, "Watch her: she stops blinking."

Has anyone else noticed this? Is it during the interrogation or live in court where she's noticeably not blinking?

T.I.A.

I have noticed there are several occasions where she does not move at all. I would jiggle my mouse just to make sure my computer wasn't frozen.

That makes perfect sense... but I don't see him making it to the sink and down the hallway with a bullet to the head.

She might not have trusted herself to take him down, but she might have wanted him to suffer. Probably alot of chances to shoot him besides standing in the shower.

Scope doesnt seem to apply in AZ. I noticed that the other day. DA was way beyond the scope of the direct

If she testifies my first question would be: okay so you admit to it... so where is the gun? where did you put it and where did you get it if it was not the gun that was reported stolen in may?

My two possible theories on the first accidental ceiling shot 44 seconds after the last shower pic:

1. Travis was fed up and knocked the camera from Jodi -- at which point, she grabbed the gun from her jacket pocket and shot him, or reached for the knife on the counter and stabbed him in the heart.

OR

2. Travis had started to stand from his sitting position in the shower, and Jodie quickly struck (with gun or knife, I don't know) to prevent him from standing and getting into a less vulnerable position. Having to react quickly, she dropped the camera mid-snap and grabbed her weapon.

Either way, it's not self defense, especially since she didn't stop with the first attack (whether stabbing or shooting).

I choose #2.

That last pic of him alive...he appears to be seated in the shower with hoist arms resting on his knees..and he looked surprised in a way. JMO

I think she had a gun pointed at him. After the first shot she realizes he is not dead..and when she tried to shoot again the gun jammed.

I am one who doesn't believe she came with both weapons..just the gun.

Sorry to quote myself but I'm still trying to work that duct tape evidence pic ( not entered into evidence) into the scenario

He could have been doing anything at the time. Its hard to say. It takes a lot to stab someone and a lot to kill with a knife, despite what you may see on TV. I don't think she would have been comfortable starting with a knife. Just my opinion.

You would be suprised. I have covered cases where people have made it quite a distance after being mortally wounded.
