At least for Wisconsin I can attest that DOC supplied glasses are those ill-fitting, big, bulky, retro style spectacles. Black plastic frames and all. Glasses are only provided by the DOC for those individuals convicted and sentenced to prison (awaiting trial in custody isn't applicable).I would think maybe 1 pair, not the 4-5 different pairs that she has worn in court so far tho.
Here's what I've found though:
http://www.mcso.org/Multimedia/PDF/Information_family.pdfInmates who are booked without their prescription eyeglasses will need to submit an Inmate Request Form requesting permission from the Jail Commander or Medical Staff to have them brought in from home. Only plastic frame glasses and no tinted lenses will be allowed (tint-unless medically approved), eye glasses with broken frames or broken lenses will not be accepted. Inmates may purchase Reading Glasses from the Canteen.
