Walking in someones house uninvited isn't a crime?

I just returned from an info. session at my kid's highschool on the IB program.

Right now the model for the IB program is a hexagon but it will be changing to a circle.

It took every ounce of strength for me not to collapse on the floor and roll around laughing. :floorlaugh:

So, it was objected to on relevance? I realize what the pic was of, and the shock value Juan hoped to illicit.
I was just interested in the legal precedence.
It was my understanding that the jury reacting to evidence introduced was within Juan's purview.

Thanks for trying to explain.

I don't know what the objection was based on specifically because after the defense yelled "OBJECTION YOUR HONOR, may we approach?" all the discussion was at a sidebar. But after that incident the defense did say in open court (but no jury present) that they also objected to the emotional outburst in the gallery that the photo elicited.

I work with too many troubled teens with many issues and body issues are huge. While I personally don't participate in the lady parts discussion I understand and respect others right to and the levity they try to bring to this trial. I just skip over them.

It wasn't only the picture, but first the picture shown was an autopsy photo of Travis' neck wound and it elicited loud gasps and sobs from the gallery, including TA's family. And it was also the question J.M. was asking, which was asking Lisa if based on everything she knows and all her experiences with Travis, if SHE thinks Travis deserved to have his neck slit from ear-to-ear. The defense objected on that question and I'm sure on the autopsy photo being shown to a witness who has no reason to be looking at an autopsy photo. The defense was absolutely correct to object. But Juan got his shock value in anyway and it took all of 2 seconds.

I could be wrong but I thought it looked like the close up one I have seen where the ME has the green sheet up around his throat where the slit cant be seen. I always thought they took that close up to concentrate more on the gunshot hole in the forehead. It was in the photos that were quickly set to private that we saw a week or so ago.

IMO

They wear similar colors frequently, way too frequently to be chance. A lawyer on one of the shows stated they do it with their clients so the jury won't differentiate between the client and the lawyer. I don't remember who said it.

There is a limited repertoire of what colors that are "appropriate" for a women, on trial for a vicious murder, to wear. There is also a limited number of colors that would be considered professional/appropriate/in good taste for a trial attorney to wear. If they match in colors on a few days, it is accidental, IMO. Each only has approx. 5 color families in which to wear (blacks, blues, grays, browns, neutrals).

I can't stand jean casares. She says 'walking in through the front door is not a crime.'

Burglars take note! Use the FRONT DOOR! It's totally ok!

Seriously, some times I think this is an act she puts on.

Okay let's go in the wayback machine to 2008. Desiree was probably 13 or 14 years old at that time because she's in college now. You think she was trying to get with a 30 year old man? I don't doubt there was jealousy, and I wasn't impressed at all with her testimony and not remembering, but I had to comment on the 'motive' portion of your post because there is no way a 30 year old man was going to date someone who was 13 or 14 yrs old. Remember Travis was outspoken about wanting to get married and start a family because at 30 yrs old he already felt 'old.'

I dated a 29 year old when I was a young teen. I'm not saying that is the situation here, but most of my boyfriends were in their 20's and 30's when I was a teenager. And they knew how old I was.

Yep, well like a true predator Jodi was spotted in leopard print (pun unintentional) early into the trial.

That should kinda be a no no when one is accused of a horrific murder in my opinion. ;)

atthelake. . . . that was me . . . . I can try and remember to change my color to green for those who are skimming thru. Nursebeeme usually posts the transcripts in the trial documents and transcripts thread (see first page for links).

I would encourage everyone to read both KMouse and mine and any others who want to join in to help! Often times I will miss stuff - or have computer trouble (or trouble with the keys like today). . . . . it really helps when others are doing the same thing!

Thanks Wenwe.

There are time that the phone rings etc.and I miss stuff. When that happens I try to put in in <>.

I've had to check your notes for info. I have missed :) Thanks!

I think she was older than that. Didn't she go on a mission for her church? She had to be 21 to go on a mission. That lasts for a couple years, so she is likely 23 or 24 now.

Thanks for all the well wishes. It is greatly appreciated. I do believe the weather is calming down some. It has been a rough day for the people in Georgia. Now it going toward the east coast of SC. I pray that everyone in its path will be safe.

The main thing is material things can be replaced. We were actually one of the lucky ones. Many have been severely injured and a gentleman lost his life today. IMO

It is a couple of hours west of Jacksonville. Should cross here between 10 pm and midnight. I hope it dies down some.

NG just said that Jodi's brand of glasses were up to $2000 on ebay. I wonder if manipulated Darryl purchased those for her in addition to her breast implants.

Okay but we're not looking at your situation. Based on everything you've heard so far, do you have any reason to believe that this young gal had her sights set on Travis or that he had his sights set on her? If yes, can you point to where this came up in evidence? According to what I heard today, she made it sound like Travis was kind of a jerk. At no point in either defense or state questioning was there so much as a hint of interest in one direction or the other. Therefore, it's speculation/fiction.

I think the relevance comes into play because JM is limited to addressing on cross what was touched on in direct. The defense didn't really touch on the murder itself when they had the direct, did they? Certainly not in that graphic of manner, anyway.

Of course, the whole trial is about murder, so I say it's relevant, but I'm not an attorney so it's not up to me.

Just to bounce off your very impartial post, jo...:)
Kudos to your working with troubled youth. I agree with you (though sometimes can't help but laugh - we have some really funny posters!). I would be humiliated and mortified if my body were being picked apart on an international scale. :blushing:

That said I personally find the 'Travis didn't deserve to die BUT...' posts much, much more offensive on a very basic human level. MOO
