I have stayed away from this thread for a few days now because I felt my anger and blood pressure rising over all of the incessant " shaming" and critiquing of her "lady parts".

Jeebus. We have a whole generation of young girls who think they need to be ashamed of the way their bodies look, ashamed of they way they feel about desiring sex, and that weighing more than 100 lbs. is a fate worse than death. 16 year olds begging for plastic surgery because they read garbage like that.

Jodi Arias is a vile murderer. Maybe calling her ugly, saying she has cellulite, dark labia and a fat, nasty nose makes some folks feel better. IDK. It seems irrelevant to me.

And calling her a nasty because she has sex (with men who nobody has labeled "" or "") has ZERO to do with the heinous act she committed on Travis.

I have a daughter as do many of you. Someone might call her fat. Or say her hair is ugly. Or that her nose is wonky or she has cankles. Or when she is older and likes a boy and they kiss, some jealous girl might call her a .

And the posts I am reading here will certainly help to perpetuate the double standards and terrible self-esteem that so many young women battle these days. That makes me cry for not just my daughter , but for all the young girls who get to be held to this unattainable standard some people have set.

I could care less about Jodi. But I do care about what we say to one another as women and sisters when we exempt men from any wrongdoing and instead point at other women and call "".

We ought to be discussing the awful thing Jodi did to Travis. Not making up nicknames for her genitalia or " shaming" her for doing the EXACT same things in bed that the victim did!

Sorry for the OT and the rant. And I will go back to lurking.

You're absolutely right! I have participated (gleefully, at times) in the "-shaming". It's caused me some ambivalence. I oughta know better. Sometimes, though, in the middle of all of this bloody and heartwrenching evidence, I look for something to laugh about. I apologize to anyone whom I've offended.

I am still trying to figure out what the defense considers deviant. Talking about sex? Naked pictures? Anal sex? Boyshorts and pigtails? Phone sex? Since Jodi participated in all the above, that would make her a deviant as well.

Okay but we're not looking at your situation. Based on everything you've heard so far, do you have any reason to believe that this young gal had her sights set on Travis or that he had his sights set on her? If yes, can you point to where this came up in evidence? According to what I heard today, she made it sound like Travis was kind of a jerk. At no point in either defense or state questioning was there so much as a hint of interest in one direction or the other. Therefore, it's speculation/fiction.

For me it came across as she didn't really know Travis all that well and while she may call herself his friend I think some may question whether she really was.

Jean Cesaras has lost her mind. I used to really like and respect her. The way she is characterizing the testimony today... sheesh. Talk about drama queen. Now she thinks it's perfectly fine to just walk in someone's house without invitation. Good freakin' gracious. Jean... come back. She seems smitten with killers these days. She just LOVED that Darren guy in Vegas, too.

At one time Jean was one of my favorites. Now when she host IS I have to mute it and watch on line instead.

Once she jumped into the pocket of C. Mason she has stayed on the side of defense attorneys. It irks me highly. I cant believe what a big deal she has tried to make out of nothings. Has this woman never had relationships? It sure sounds like it because all we have heard is just the same things many people go through from time to time in relationships.

She was trying sooo hard to get the DV doc to agree with her the other day that Jodi had been abused and I was so glad the doc didnt agree with her at all.

I am so glad when Beth talks instead. She is much more level headed and doesnt get into the dramatics like Jean.

I actually wondered if he purchased expensive glasses for her when they lived together before she shafted him for $5000 worth of house payments and the $3000 boob job. Many people that wear contacts have a pair of glasses for those days when they can't put in their contacts (dust, eye infections, corneal abrasions, and etc....)

Okay let's go in the wayback machine to 2008. Desiree was probably 13 or 14 years old at that time because she's in college now. You think she was trying to get with a 30 year old man? I don't doubt there was jealousy, and I wasn't impressed at all with her testimony and not remembering, but I had to comment on the 'motive' portion of your post because there is no way a 30 year old man was going to date someone who was 13 or 14 yrs old. Remember Travis was outspoken about wanting to get married and start a family because at 30 yrs old he already felt 'old.'

Also, how could Daniel possibly know that removing items from Jodi's backpack to make it lighter would elicit a fight between her and Travis? How would Daniel have known exactly what Jodi would say and then what Travis would say in return? I agree Daniel had no business touching her things, but he couldn't have forseen a fight breaking out between Travis and Jodi over that.

I think she was older than that. Didn't she go on a mission for her church? She had to be 21 to go on a mission. That lasts for a couple years, so she is likely 23 or 24 now.

In regards to Desiree's inability to be able to remember what Travis said that was so "over the top" supposely in anger was extremely hinky. :waitasec: How could she describe what he said, but not know what he said. I wonder why she and her brother sound against Travis.

I think they were scraping at the bottom of the barrel to find anyone that had witnessed anything, no matter how small. And little miss selective memory was one of those people. Poor choice IMO.

Kudos to your working with troubled youth. I agree with you (though sometimes can't help but laugh - we have some really funny posters!). I would be humiliated and mortified if my body were being picked apart on an international scale. :blushing:

That said I personally find the 'Travis didn't deserve to die BUT...' posts much, much more offensive on a very basic human level. MOO

Understood however I've noticed that if a post states something even slightly negative about TA an immediate response has been but he didn't deserve to die. So some try a preemptive strike and include it in their post. So it's kinda a damn if you do damn if you don't kinda thing. I am guilty of both only because of the replies I get. I will take this time to apologize as my intent in my post are never meant to offend.

I could be wrong but I thought it looked like the close up one I have seen where the ME has the green sheet up around his throat where the slit cant be seen. I always thought they took that close up to concentrate more on the gunshot hole in the forehead. It was in the photos that were quickly set to private that we saw a week or so ago.

I am willing to bet that by the time that trip was over, the brother + sister got into a fight with Travis and Jodi. I think they come across as prissy immature egotistical brats who think they do no wrong, and since Travis and Jodi were a little more laid back, there was a huge personality clash which erupted into a real verbal fight before this trip ended.

Those 2 hate him to this day IMO. They forget that their religion probably says they should not keep animosity and hatred towards people.

I guess I did not see it as hinky maybe she did not remember ver-batim.....I remember when Ryan testified for the PA he could not remember anything like in whether he helped Jodi with putting the license plate back on car correctly....how could you not remember that? but yet many posters were very forgiving of him stating it had been several years. It seems like depending on which side someone is on that the latitude someone is afforded here changes drastically.
