Hi DAWGIE, It was May 3rd, and I had a wonderful B-Day here. Really nice. Now I'm 63 + 1 week + 1day  LOLOLOL Thanks though. Thim, it just has its way of wending on down the way. That is the only good thing about time I can think of now, is Alan Parsons song 'Time'.

Happy Birthday Scandi....

Much belated as I am.

Awwww, that's sweet of you Strach! I'll join you!

Happy Mother's Day everyone!!

My daughter is treating me to a movie! And today, I got a card from my son sent Express. This is a BIG deal because I've never had one on time from him before! (I haven't opened it yet!:p )

My thoughts and prayers will be with Linda Fisher, Sharon Rocha & every other mother who has lost a daughter or son!

Cyber birthdays are kinda cool - but no cake! Then again, I'll eat a whole bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough in your honor...yum! (Don't lecture me about the raw eggs - my mother still does that:innocent: )

Okay, gotta ask - how'd the YaYa start? Assuming it's from the YaYa Sisterhood or sumpin'? Never saw the movie. What am I missing?

I too have been thinking about all the brave mothers who have lost their daughters since I have been here in the last 4+ years. God bless them all. You can't begin to list them all, but I think Erin Runion exemplifies them as a whole for me.

Hi DAWGIE, I guess I got that habit of saying YaYa from my mother. lol Scandinavian ancestry might have something to do with it too, and whenever I say it there is more meaning than a simple 'yes'. It is more like, You bet 'cha! YaYa

SCANDI:blowkiss:

I hope you're feeling better today!! Are you on antibiotics?

Oh, you little Sweetie Pie! I will soon, as Love Mama told me to go get some Australian Tree Oil to rub on my tooth. I think that will help until I can get to the dentist on
Tuesday!

I have a beautiful palamino mare who had an adorable colt, but due to our harsh winter she looked like the very devil after she delivered. Skin and bones. We are getting her back in shape and were given a skin treatment with tea tree oil. I only got half a bottle, so now need to find something with tea tree oil. It really seems to be helping more than anything we have ever used for skin problems. I think there's shampoo out there with tea tree oil. I'm going to look for it and give her another bath with it. Scandi, can I buy the oil by itself?

Hi BG! I know you can buy the oil by itself. I have some. Got it at a Health store. I just checked and you can get it on the internet for a lot cheaper than I paid.

Thanks DAWGIE, Love_Mama swears by it, saying it is a wonderful natural healer. I found some at our natural food store where they sell wellness products. so will pick some up tonight.

Another thing I've learned lately that y'all might be interested in is the healing power of Vicks Vapo Rub. I got that fingernail fungus from wearing a pair of my past BF's shoes when I got a blister. It took about a year or so to show up and my doctor told me to rub Vicks on every nail daily for 3 mos.

I finally started doing it about a month ago, and it is simply amazing. The Vicks stops this fungus from robbing the nail of something - not sure what, but my nails are almost a third grown out now and they look perfectly normal. It really works! Also, because of the Vicks my hair has started growing like crazy. Isn't that funny? So many have this fungus, and the meds they give for it is very hard on the liver. Vicks is a bit stinky, but well worth the trouble to have beautiful nails and healthy hair again!

Scandi, I too have had fungus in both my big toes. Question: do I need to remove my nail polish to try this? I did go on Lamisil? I think several years ago. I took a pill a day for 30 days and it didn't do a thing for me. My dad had these thick toenails and said it was "jungle rot" from his WWII time in the Burmese jungle. I even lost one toenail and it came back just as thick as before. It's just my two big toenails, but I sure would like to get rid of the thick nails on them. It's getting warm and I have tons of sandals ready for wearing. Help !

Dahling.....

If you can handle the taste of Tea Tree Oil in your mouth, I'll personally make you an honourary Aussie!

Gals & Guys

You should be able to find Tea Tree oil on eBay.

as an added interesting fact: Tea Tree oil KILLS HEAD LICE! If you have or know anyone who has kids at school. One 250ml bottle in a 1 litre bottle of cheap WHITE conditioner makes a great treatment and detangles at the same time.

We use the stuff on man, woman and beast over here....including fungal infections. Do NOT use for vaginal thrush or open sores or cuts at it will sting like all get out.

For teeth, chewing Cloves helps too, doesn't taste as disgusting but still yukky enough to make me screw my face up in disgust :)

I'm honourary tonight, Sami!;) I bought a half fluid ounce of 100% Austrailian Tee Tree Oil at the Natural food store where I buy my veggies and meat. 2 drops laid over my bad tooth and I'm ready for the cure! LOL I have yet to eat dinner, but that's OK, as I will keep my tooth ensconsed in this oil until Tues. I am anxious to see if it will make a difference, but LoveMama told me she would have an abcessed tooth too if it weren't for the oil.

As far as the Vicks therapy, BarnGoddess, I told my hairdresser about this, because suddenly my hair has taken on a great spurt of growth. She said anything with eucalyptus or camphor in it has been used for centuries as a cure all for myriads of things in the Orient.

What it does take is dedication so that you don't miss an application. There's the rub in using this to get rid of a fungus. My little 5th toenails were very hard to cut with a regular toenail clipper before I started using Vicks. After 1 month they have already grown out and I can trim them the normal way now. Can you believe it?

I feel confident BG that if you apply this faithfully to your toenails every night before going to bed you will start to notice a big difference as your nail grows out. I don't think this is heredity, but a propensity for us to accept this fungus is present in our bodies.

I bet if we took a poll we would be amazed at how many people actually have this problem! LOL YaYa

Gotta jump in here about the toe fungus. I got it in one BIG toe BG.

I'm blaming mine on a pedicure I had at a place where they probably didn't steralize their instruments properly.

I bought everything over the counter at the pharmacy & resorted to the internet and did read about Vicks Scandi. I even went to the Doctor & he wouldn't even consider giving me a prescription for that liver damaging stuff.

I ended up back at my Health Store and they recommended Oil of Oregano. IT WORKED IN 6 WEEKS!!! GONE!!! The little bottle has a dropper in it and I applied the oil to my toe (nail) and did my best to jam to end of the dropper down my toe (nail). Pretty much saturated the area.

That is so interesting about Vicks & hair. Scandi - How exactly do you apply it? In your conditioner? Or did it work by treating your toes?

BG I did remove the polish.
