I agree with everything you said. None of it is adding up.
Our school usually had these kinds of things at night, so that both parents could attend. They were held in the cafeteria, room enough for everyone to walk around and look at everything, with their own child beside them. No confusion, no disruption of classes. Then when it was over, they took their projects and their kids home.
This event sounded like it was not well organized or well planned. Odd time of day to be holding a science fair, early in the morning, IMO.
And the kids could have been running over to their friends' groups, instead of staying with their own group, causing the chaperones extra trouble.
Also, was this science fair for all the grades, or just second grade? If it was for the whole school... I'm sure it was very hectic.
The elementary school I work at has 500 students. My classroom is right next to the gym where events are held.
As I have said before, parents can come all day at my school.
It is not hectic or unorganized at my school. Not one bit.
I don't know how anyone can say that Skyline's was hectic or unorganized. We have no information on that at all.
