Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh? #3

If they planned this out so carefully and knew when to strike and pulled this off, that means someone is keeping her and taking care of her. Yes? So these people who have her, know that they have a kidnapped child. Yes? So how are they able to take care of her medical needs without being noticed? How do they explain who she is to neighbors, her school, and friends? And when does she get to go home to mommy and grandma? How would you explain where she has been? Or did the family just whisk her away and have no plans on reuniting her with her mom and Marie? But that still leaves medical and school. What about records, shots, grades, history, ss#. Lots to plan out, and lots of money to keep her somewhere.

Yes, smart enough to take care of her medical needs. I.e., have some training and/or have taken her somewhere where they had access to medical assistance without too many questions.

She would have to be in a remote area where people are largely self-sufficient and don't mess with strangers.

Explanation would be that she's a distant relative and will be living with them for a while. In some areas, this is not unusual and would not be questioned.

She would likely be home schooled - popular in certain areas of the country, especially remote, rural areas.

She would be in an area where living costs are very low and an extra small child does not make a significant difference.

In certain places, virtually no planning would be needed as these conditions already exist.

My guess is that there is no intention to ever bring her back. It won't be too long before Haleigh would adapt to her new life, and she will probably never be found.

Wow, that was very interesting to go back and read many of those old posts from around July. It seems that most everyone feels the same as they did then. I do wonder what has happened to many of those posters that were so active at that time. Kind of like old friends that you think of and wonder where they are today! Flossie I did find several posts that cover your theory(ies). Thanks so much for pointing me in the right direction! :thumb: AND I learned (I think) how to link a single post! :woohoo: I linked a few of the most relevant, hope you don't mind. If you do I'll gladly delete. Although we don't share the same theory(ies), I now know what yours are and can respect that. I really appreciate you sharing. I'm still not real clear at how you arrived there, but that's ok. I did just want to ask if anything in your mind has changed at all or if you still firmly believe the same?

To sum, I think the revenge theory probably holds the most water of those discussed above, depending on who wanted revenge and against whom. Amber would have had motivation for revenge against both Misty and Ron, and she and Misty had a run-in over the weekend before. IMO, she would have had to have help. What would she have done with Haleigh? I don't think she would have hurt her, but she could have given her to someone else and who knows what may have happened then.

Misty could have impulsively planned revenge against Ron, but IMO, it would have been more like playing a nasty trick on him, and then it backfired terribly.

The reasons I have strong doubts about an accident involving both Misty and Ron are that 1) In my gut, I can't see Ron living with himself if something happened to his little girl. I know he's strange acting, but there is too much collaboration that he adored this child. 2) I believe there would have been forensic evidence in the home and LE found none. If Misty was involved and not Ron, then it could have happened outside the home. But if it happened before Ron left for work, it would have been in the home, so this implies Ron was not involved. 3) We have too many indicators that Haleigh was seen after Ron left for work.

Cathie Gauthier's theory of what happened on New Year's Eve to cause the death of her 3 children is eerily similar to Misty's Croslin's account of what happened the night HaLeigh disappeared......

Mother of 3 found guilty of first degree murder in Quebec, Canada.

A jury in Saguenay, Que., has found Cathie Gauthier guilty in the premeditated killings of her three children as part of a New Year's Eve murder-suicide pact with her husband. The mother stated that on New Year's Eve her 3 children watched a movie and fell asleep and she fell asleep and she doesn’t remember what happened after that. She testified that she woke up later that evening in bed to find her wrist slashed and her 3 children in bed beside her with the girl in the middle and the two boys beside her not moving.

The Crown questioned why Gauthier took a hot bath upon waking up with her wrist slashed — and her children motionless — instead of immediately calling 911. When the mother placed the 911, she blamed her husband for drugging the family members and killing their 3 children. Gauthier faces a life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years. The mother’s defense strategy can be heard on the video in the right hand corner.

I agree w Tricia: Crystal had nothing to do w this and more importantly, neither does LE believe that. Doesn't look like a "happy family reunion" to me. But I'm sure she and Marie pray to God there might be a reunion one day w Haleigh. If not here, in heaven. :rose: Prayers for a grieving mother. JMO

Also, wouldn't Jr have noticed if Haleigh disappeared anytime before he went to bed? One would hope so!

All this implies to me that Haleigh was alive before Ron went to work and for some time afterward.

I can see how someone would take a child and hid them if they thought they were doing the best thing for that child. But Misty and the LDT, the VSA tests, the way the MH was, the way Ron acted and well you know all the things that don't add up, make me think she is dead. If Misty would come out tomorrow and say, "okay, ya, I left the MH and I went to a party and when I came home, the door was bricked and Haleigh was gone", then me and LE and the FBI would be narrowing it down to some other person or some other theory, but until they know what she is holding back the case can't go forward and Haleigh's disappearance will remain a mystery.

I hear ya. I have hopes, but as time has passed, I sometimes have that sickish feeling in my heart also. But, now that Misty is on her own, she will be making her own decisions for her own actions. Nobody is protecting her from backing herself into a corner.

IIRC.. JS stated FDLE told him that he was most probably one of the last four people to see Haleigh...I suspect the last four were the bus driver, JS, Ron C and Misty C.
I doubt seriously Haleigh was alive when Ron C finally showed up for work...JMO

Ron is just as much a suspect as anyone else. The police rarely name a person a suspect anymore till they are ready to charge them. He has not been cleared in the case. His talking through a lawyer about his work hours makes me suspect the police are looking at him hard for some reason.

Again, LE must have verified all or some of these (neighbors,GGma Sykes, the AC man, Tommy & his kids) because they have said they were satisfied with Ron's timeline & that he was at work when he said, and they have said he is not a suspect. So this is based upon logic. Unfortunately, LE will no tell us this until they start disclosing details.

I just did, at around 8pm I caught the rerun. It was interesting and I am glad the search was address too. The psychic could very well be right, but I am thinking if it is that name, it's the guy who lived with DS. But who knows at this point, KWIM?

Just because the police have not named Ron a suspect does not mean they don't suspect him in Haleighs dissapearence.

Naming a person a suspect has legal ramifications and is rarely done anymore unless they are getting ready to make an arrest.

The fact Ron has lawyers does not surprise me but when he sends them on national tv to speek for him and his work hours makes me wonder why he can't talk about them.
