Theories discussion: What could have happened to Haleigh? #4

OneLove, I read that story on some other forum. I couldn't lend it much credence, but that's just me.

In that age range, wanna guess how many Kaylas there are?

And look in your local phone book for BROOKS. You probably even have a Richard in your local area. [btw - I haven't looked at your profile, so IDK where you live, but it doesn't matter. Everybody on the Haleigh boards will find BROOKS in their own local directory, imo.]

I'm not trying to make you feel bad; I see "ghosts" all over the place, too. lol, you should have seen me when I was hunting down ChadRey.

lol, those are the exact thoughts I was having as I was reading the story. But, still, it's a pretty simple thing to do to PROVE or DISPROVE whether this Richard Brooks is related to Amber Brooks or NOT. It's certainly worth it just to put this matter to rest. Soooo.....has that been done? If it has NOT, that in itself is, well, hinky. Really really hinky.

Oh my, that is going out a limb but you never know. I am still inside the MH on Green trying to figure out the door things. And if Misty were there, she should have known if she put the kids to bed in pjs or not. on the 911, misty is not hysterical...she was when she was robbed however. These two both lead off with their alibi before they tell 911 that Haleigh is missing......strange!

I want a co-worker to tell us when rc arrived and when he left PDM. There are versions out there and none match the hours in question. The fact that rc avoids the explanation and has an attorney leads most to think he is guilty of something. Some say he was drunk, others say he was telling Misty to handle Haleigh (in a not so nice way)...but we do not have verification. Player says that Misty usually picked up Haleigh at the bus stop. She uses the blue van, or the altima or she walks. He is a witness who lives next door to Ron when Ron lived on Buchanan. RC says he picked up Haleigh. Was this because rc was covering for misty because she did not have a license or the legal right to have those kids in the car with her...would this reflect on rc? If so, there's your answer....he is lying to cover his butt.

Misty will be 18 yrs old in a few days....are the LE going to bring her for questioning that day....I hope so. Up till Dec. 9, they could only formally request her presence; now they can go to her house.

Will the case go cold?.....appears so. Ron got nothing out of Misty the entire time....makes one wonder how interested he was in getting to the bottom of the story.

If LE is not successful, the case is over, imo. They both have lawyered up and without any evidence of a crime, the case is cold.

I don't think most people unerstand the working of Government agencies when it comes to criminals and children services. The government does not do a good job at either. The Parole Officers and DCF both fail. That is because the accountability is low. They go by the rules and don't ever go outside the line. I can say this is most likely the case because I have personally witnessed abductors (some you know) leave the prison. Their criteria for parole is not based on "would you want them living next door to you" but based on their "rights" that the staff thinks they should have. I can tell you with the sweep of a pen that most of these SOs could be held for the full lenght of the sentence but are not. This happens because some "FEEL" that they should be given a chance. The other reason is fear, fear of being wrong, making a mistake, or fear of the legal system......sames goes for DCF.

When it comes to our children, there should be input and common sense used. You do not find these things for the most part in any government agency.

Whisperer, you are full of truth and wisdom!

BBM-last sentence-boy, isn't that the understatement of the year, decade, century, whatever!

I don't know if you have heard of Kristina Hepp and the tragic circumstances leading up to the end of her life. I so wish the agencies and judge looking out for her best interests would be held accountable for her demise.
Here is a link to the WS thread on her, it is only 2 pages long but if you want more info. about her case google her name, there is much more info. out there.

Kristina Hepp, another child dead in FL. - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

IMO, DCF/judges are protected too many times when something bad happens to a child who they have made decisions for or are in state custody and they are responsible for. If only we could see all the documents in these cases released to the public after the fact. It is possible that the DCF file on RC has information in it that lead to Haleigh's demise. But in a lot of cases I have read about involving DCF and their investigations, the child has to be practically dead for them to remove them from the home. And the main goal of DCF a lot of times is to fix whatever is wrong in the home and reunite the child with the parents. Sadly, when they think the problem is fixed and the child returns it often ends up with a tragic ending. (Kelsey Smith-Briggs) Some people just can't be fixed. In no way am I saying all cases are failures, IMO there are too many that are.

Doobie-
Here is a quote by Lindsy C. from an Art. H article dated Nov. 25.

Fuming that the arrest happened two days ago and it was a long shot whether they could raise enough money to bond Hank out by Thanksgiving, Lindsay said, “I’m pissed off. I have three children, I’m a good mother, just finished nursing school, don’t do anything wrong. I take my state test in two weeks. I don’t want this to ruin me. I’m not a bad person.

http://www.artharris.com/2009/11/25...isty-croslin-family-not-going-away/#more-3561

Two weeks from that article date would be this coming Wed., Dec. 9-when Lindsy says she takes her state test to get her nursing license.

lil momma I realize that you didn't mention RC, I was responding to another poster who believed that Ronald wasn't looked at closely enough during the several investigations by DCF, and therefore the children were not removed from the home. I disagreed.

I sincerely hope that you don't feel like you should go back downstairs because it is much more pleasant down there. lol....you think I don't understand about unpleasantness? I don't always feel great up here either, but I am not here about me and my feelings, I am here in hopes of finding a clue...Maybe I should have gave up a long time ago, but now I just can't. I know each time that I post that I am going to be hit with resistance and disbelief, but I post anyway because I don't know how to give up or give in.

I want to apologize to you for making you feel unpleasant, as I have said before it is very hard to see the emotions behind a person when you are behind a keyboard.

no problems here elle! I assumed (by you coping my post) you were implying that i was putting those links and information about DCF out there, b/c i am not happy with the way DCF did Rons investigation. So, i want to apologize about my assumption.

i was just pointing out that it is possible that there are DCF caseworkers that aren't honest in doing their job and looking out for the childrens best intrest that are in their case load. (hope that makes sense :))

Plus i had noticed in the thread that there was backa nd fourth discussion and the DCF investigation, kept being put out there, so i figured i would post some facts about it.

I remember discussing this awhile back on another thread. I never quite got the Spurlock/Kayla part of it. They both live in Tennessee and I couldn't connect the Massachusetts part to them. I can understand the Amber/revenge thing up to a point. But, would she risk going to jail on federal kidnapping charges just to get even?

If Haleigh is hidden away somewhere, who would risk a prison sentence over hiding her? Someone who thought she needed to be safely away from her father and his lifestyle? A real kidnapper? Her own father (who would not face kidnapping charges, but false reporting, etc)? I want desperately to believe she's alive, but it isn't looking good after this long.

Is this woman saying it was HaLeigh in the Abington Walmart?
By the age of 5, are children able to state their full name, age, address, parents names etc?
I wonder how TN and RC are reacting to this news and if a family member will have the lead checked out?

The Abington Wal-Mart purported sighting was months before we knew Timmy & family moved to Cape Cod.

Why do I think that "Spurlock" was the name of an Overstreet friend on MySpace? Thst he was the one wearing a black robe & hood?

IIRC, there was reference to that by the other poster provided in the link you gave us.

A lot of good points in this post doobie. I would like to add an answer to the line I Bolded. Yes, Amber would risk a Federal charge, mainly because I do not think she would even know it was a Federal crime. She doesn't appear to be a career criminal well versed in crime and punishment.
What seems like forever is the nagging question in the back of my mind is why people commit a crime? The answer I always come away with is that "They do not expect to get caught. If they did, they would not do it."

Twall, the Christina Hepp story is sickening...thank you for the link though. More proof of what we are dealing with. State workers can hide behind the law; judges do it all the time. No personal accountability whatsoever. If you think that they feel bad when something like this happens; the answer is a resounding "NO". Of course they feel for the victim but not for making the decision.

Hard to believe but I saw it everyday. Watching a child molester go free and killing the child does not affect the people who let him go one bit. They have their little guide books and rule books to say what a shame but he was allowed to go by the rules.

What people DON"T know is nine times out of ten, he could have been held in lieu of parole. They don't have to parole; they can serve the entire sentence. It simply requires a staff member to document why he shouldn't. Nope, most will not do it because they will be brought to court by an attorney who will put them through the ringer and they don't want that kind of a day.

So every once in a while DCF gets it wrong but they do not blame themselves, trust me on that one. That little list, like Elle posted protects them. They don't venture outside the guidelines...their job is at stake.

To think now our Government is going to take over the health care system.......OMG!

Regarding lindsey and her nursing bar exam. That is going to be rough on her. With all those people in the house, she needs hours and hours of quite time to study. I don't know how she can do it with that crowd staying there.

There really isn't a great thread to put this in. So I'll put it here. Capt. Piscatello made a brief statement:

Someone knows what happened. We are not going to put this case on the shelf and let it go cold. I will assure anyone who wants to know that I personally will see that this case is on our mind, tongue, and heart every single day until we find her. - Capt. D. Piscatello

TY for posting that atherella..This was that recent? That is exactly what I am so afraid of happening, so it's good to read this...

Can you please fill me in with 'kayla'?

Misty has a smart mouth and not the brains to back it with. She threatened Amber. MO, Misty has a serious problem with wanting to be a wife and mother...emphasis on 'serious'. I wonder how far she would go to be one. I tend to think for the most part she considered Haleigh like a sister and was in competition for rc's gifts and support. She may have harmed Haleigh out of jealousy. She may have told rc there was an accident and rc believes Haleigh died by accident but he doesn't want it to reflect on him.

It looks like somebody is giving another idea and that Haleigh is alive and will be returned by..........? help! and Amber is involved?

BBM-

Great observation! I tend to agree with you.
...but maybe it wasn't exactly 'sisterly' it was more like having a toy to play with? I keep remembering MC saying how Haleigh had to have the same shoes as MC and wanted to dress like her etc...

I have no links for this, but does anyone recall when Tomy was arrested for stealing the neighbors gun, that the ole man made a comment about something that Misty said?

Something to the effect of "Misty said she was tired of watching other people's children"

Does anyone else recall this, or did i dream it? TIA

Over the past week, Capt. Piscatello was admitted to hospital for an unknown reason. There was no word on why he was admitted and how long he will be off work.

Yes, Marvin Martins made this comment and it was included in one of his interviews about the Croslins. I'll try and find it for you.
