I have been checking in often to see if anything new has happened in this case. So sad there's nothing happening!:( It's unbelievable that it has now been 9 months since Michelle's murder. I really thought there would have been an arrest by now!

I know that the dna or the lack of dna has been discussed. Wouldn't the lack of any foreign dna be a huge red flag and could that not help in obtaining an arrest? I guess I just don't understand. But to me, it seems that could make a huge statement in this case.

What the heck do you believe IS going on right now?

I think the absence of foreign DNA does point to JY, but it's also possible a killer could commit a murder without leaving their DNA at the scene, like if they wore gloves, hat or mask and so forth. But there just doesn't seem to be any evidence that a stranger was in the house and no one who would want to harm Michelle, so that along with other things, leads back to JY. I haven't heard anything in my local news.

Thanks panthera! I appreciate your comments.

I just can't wrap my mind around a stranger/intruder killing Michelle. What possible reasons would one have to commit such a crime anyway?

I do continue to believe that JY is the killer. Maybe someday soon now, there will be an arrest .
I reallly hope we don't mark the one year anniversary without an arrest!

There are a few reasons why I can't see an intruder ~ two story house, dog, no evidence (DNA, fingerprints) left behind, and no purpose (nothing of value taken). I could see a hired hit, but really not in the manner which Michelle was killed. I too hope that there's an arrest before November, but I also can't see what the hold up would be now that would make one possible by then. :(

They have no murder weapon nor do they have a credible witness to place him at the scene in the middle of the nite. Jmo. I believe they have a lot of circumstantial evidence but I'm thinking it's too much of a stretch to take to a jury at this point.

Are you caught up now Niner?:)

LOL! Yes, FINALLY caught up!! Now I wait along with you all - for Justice!~

Scandi!! Hey girl - long time no see! You better check in on the D.B> Cooper thread - as they're all worried about ya!

I think these are reasonable explanations Jilly - LE has wanted to talk to Jy pretty bad - there are certain things in that house that only Jy would know if those items were missing. The murder weapon wasn't left at the home, but it could have come from the home. One of the really good reasons in my mind Jy has kept quiet - he knows what is missing and LE may have a good guess and he knows he may be confronted with that information - might hesitate on that answer and get caught up. There is only one reason Jy is not talking and that is because he knows exactly what happened that night and he knows exactly what is missing - he just doesn't know if LE knows the same. JMO

Good to see you !

Good to see you too RC! I was hoping you'd come along and give me a shot of positivity but I think, by now, we can make certain "reasonable" assumptions.

I think you're absolutely right about jy and what's missing in that home. I think his only fear would be that someone saw him that nite either leave the hotel or arriving at his house. The more time that passes, the more he relaxes.

I think he had every detail of this murder all planned out and I'm not even so sure that he parked at his house in the early hours - probably somewhere with no houses around to risk being heard or seen.

Jilly,

I'm pretty positive Jy will not get away with this. I'm also hoping that those reward posters have been pasted up along the routes to and from Hillsville - in Hillsville and from there to where ever that meeting (if there was a scheduled meeting) was. Someone saw something, the fact that the SUV is not shown but Jys mug is tells me LE believes someone saw him. (He bought gas somewhere other than just Duffield)

One thing that I keep coming back to, I agree it was planned and planned very well but I suspect JY intended to strangle Michelle and it just didn't work - something from the home is missing as a result. The other thing I wonder about is from the pictures of the house very early on - the garage door open and a ladder in an area where a garage door open would be located - something tells me that whatever LE was looking at had to do with the opener - I bet it wasn't just broken in a conventional sense. More like sabotaged I think.

LE knows who did it - they just need a little help to make it stick - it will show up, I'm pretty sure of it.;)

(He bought gas somewhere other than just Duffield) He (jy) must have lost a bit of sleep when that reward poster came out. Like I said, that's the only thing worrying him. Probably the only reason he kept those sunglasses on at the funeral!

Otherwise, he would have had to make some noise by breaking in.

I hope PE raises the reward. If I could contribute, I would. I wonder if PE would consider that? I'm sure there are a lot of friends and people on these boards that would.

I also believe that Jason could have worn a mask to disguise himself. Perhaps, Michelle still recognized him and called out his name as he was trying to strangle her. This could have frightened him; and he grabbed something heavy and beat her to death.

It wasn't a robbery. So, what was he thinking? A stranger snuck into the home, strangled Michelle, took nothing and left the baby alive. Who would have the motive to do this?? One person...

I would contribute as well Jilly and I bet there are lots of people who would. One thing is for sure, Jy and company can't be bothered with it.

Yes sunglasses - they were more than just a convenience IMO. The thing about the garage door - if the idjit broke it from inside the garage and broke it on purpose - seems to me LE would consider that another good reason to say the murder was not a random event. I have a suspicion this may be true.

And locked the dog in the downstairs bathroom...yep one person only, ransacked the closet and supposedly took the jewelry drawers, I'm sure real robbers do that all the time...:D

I agree, jilly, and feel that if the evidence isn't there now, it might not be coming later. I'm afraid this will become a cold case. :(

I think he wanted it to look like a stranger/intruder did it, which it does with Michelle being bludgeoned to death, but not many perps (unless they're on drugs) would break into a two-story home at night with a dog and small child ~ and leave the house without what they went there for. And you'd think there would be some evidence left behind.

NO!!!

Don't even go there, panthera! I get frustrated at times too, believe me.
We have to have hope. Hope in the justice system.
We have to have faith in LE, and believe that the murderer will be arrested
soon. Sooner now than later.

We can not give in to negative feelings.

I'm trying REAL hard to hang in here. You just never know what can come up....perhaps someone that saw something has been travelling most of these 9 months and the topic of this murder comes up in conversation.....

Maybe jy buried the murder weapon etc., in a wooded area somewhere. Perhaps some hiker/dog will come upon this.

That reward poster was designed to display jy's face, imo. LE is hoping to get something from that.

Yes I agree.

The little girl was left unharmed and the old dog was left unharmed.
A drug crazed meth head could of done it, but...
The whole house would have been ransacked inside and out.
Valuables would have been taken. They weren't.
There would have been no mercy given for the child or the dog either.

It troubles me about the evidence. Something had to have been left behind. Some type of evidence. JY is just not that smart, he had to have messed up inside that bedroom! Some clue left behind.

Oh, ok ~ :slap: <--- me.

I'm not giving up, but it's really frustrating that someone can just clam up, not talk to LE and still be free to live his life as he wants ~ while Michelle and her unborn baby are in a cemetary. :(

That does give me hope that his picture is going to be circulated around. Most people don't even know what he looks like since he's been in hiding for 9 months. Those posters should be at every stop along the route from the house to where he was supposed to be that night.
