Our camp is on a "silty" lake and I can tell you that once something goes under, it is very difficult, usually impossible, to find. I have no idea how the divers are working in those conditions. Once you disturb the silt it becomes impossible to see.

This is what I don't understand. If TM was expecting so many more volunteers than actually came, why was there such a food and water shortage? Does TM and TES normally supply food and water for the searchers or does TES only cover lodging and expenses of the TES people? I am not trying to be snarky, just really unaware of what would happen normally.

Mitzi: the number of people who contacted TES or LP and said they would be there and the number of people who actually came to help, well you can see how far apart those numbers were. Don't know why people didn't come, some said they thought they would not be needed because so many other people were coming. I don't know where the 'expected number' came from. I know I heard LP talk about it on NG, and I know I heard TM say he was expecting it to be the largest search ever - just don't know where the numbers came from.

I was at the search and worked at the command center both days. Like the people who said they were coming and didn't - Some of the water and food that was promised did not show up either - that I know for a fact. I don't know the logistics of food/water at any other search, I can't answer about what they normally do, I can only tell you what I know about this search. What was incredible though, was the response from local people and non local people when they heard that there was a need for water and food at this search. It made me smile more than once to see a pizza place driver show up and climb out of his/her car with 10 to 15 pizzas and look around trying to figure out exactly 'who' to deliver them to - and the people who showed up with bottled water in their trucks, cars, etc. or placed an order for water and had it delivered.

I traveled from GA with the assumption that I would be responsible for my own food and water. I planned accordingly. It was VERY NICE, though, to come in from a search to good food and COLD water and sodas.

I wish I could have met all of you!! I was there both days too, but only met a handful of WS'rs.

I so agree with him. I just hope that people who watch Nancy Grace realize that LP injected himself into this case and into the search effort. I'm so afraid that this will all reflect badly on Tim and the good work that he does.

I applaud both Tim and LP for conducting their searches. I think its obvious that there is a fundamental difference between these two gentlemen, and it came to the forefront this weekend. IMO, LP probably became impatient with the pace things were moving and felt the searches where being conducted in the wrong areas once the cross picture came to light. Since TES had mapped out there specific search areas prior to the leak, he had to move forward, and LP was patient until the search turned up nothing and he decided to high tail it over to the JBP. These are two different men, with two completely different styles, but they have a common goal.....to find Caylee.

Volunteers are told to BRING LUNCH and water for themselves. Any donations are icing on the cake.................. I was there Sat/Sun/Mon and searched all day and this is a SEARCH not a "picnic." As for the food and water I was there and I never saw so many left over PIZZA from all companies,QUIZNO's,Pre-packaged sandwiches,POP-EYES, homemade sweets,BOTTLED WATER and a nice treat MCDonalds yesterday for all of us searches. And over the weekend McDonald gave 50% discount to searches in stores....and they were very generous giving us ice and bottled water.

I don't appreciate at all what Tim Miller said about Leanord Padilla. I read it in a article and I am ticked off about it. Leanord Padilla is half the reason why there were so many people that came to search with TES this weekend. Not to mention Leanord has said nothing but nice things about Tim. He praised Tim so many times on Nancy Grace and then Tim comes out with that. WTFever.

While all of this was going on yesterday, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla approached Tim and told him that he needed to send divers into the Little Econ River in Blanchard Park. Padilla was convinced that Caylee would be found in the water there, based upon the discovery of a cross necklace that EquuSearch team member Lisa Hxxxxxx had found on a nearby tree during the first search effort. That necklace, according to Padilla, had beads on it that were "identical" to beads that the female bounty hunter (the one who stayed in the house when Casey was out on bond) had seen on jewelry that Casey had allegedly made.

Leonard's theory was that Casey Anthony had transported a deceased Caylee to the park, hung the cross on a tree branch and then threw her in the water.

"I had my people use side-scan sonar to examine that water yesterday and then I went back myself and checked it again," Tim Miller said today in an interview with Investigation Discovery. "I told Leonard that it only takes an hour to scan it and that we had put four or five hours into it just so there would be no question as to whether she was there. I can tell u where every tire is at, I can show you where there is a bucket, where there is an old wheelbarrow and fender from a car. I can show you how deep the water is in every place and what the water temperature is. There is not a body in there."

Despite the fact that Tim had cleared the river, Leonard contacted an amateur news site and made the announcement during a live Internet feed. What followed was a media frenzy, which has left Tim Miller with a sour taste in his mouth.

i think tm pulling out so quickly is "bad for business". people who are not following this case as closely as most of us are might see this as giving up quickly and may not want to donate to him in the future.

i am/was (maybe) an LP fan, but lately, i just dont know. he does seem to run his mouth a little too much, even if a lot of it is his opinion. but he still is making people think that LA is caylee's dad, some of casey's friends are in on this, the marine knows everything that happend, etc. who knows how much money and manpower was wasted in his searching the lake. that was a slap in the face to TM, after he sonared the lake and cleared it. plus, i think LP and a lot of other people are putting too much into the cell phone pings. they are not as accurate as many are thinking. you have to be on your phone for it to ping a tower. a towers radius is 2-3 miles around the tower, that is a big area. plus a phone can literally get stuck on a tower, i worked at cingular/at&t for years, trust me this happends a lot with that company. there was a tower out where i worked, and i called tech support to get it fixed because i had little to no reception at work. when talking to tech support they showed me pinging on the tower that was not working which is impossible. then they showed me pinging off of another tower which was 6 miles away, which was impossible because i had no reception at the time. it is just not that accurate of a system. enough of the cell phone rant...

just out of curiousity: does anyone know how much money has been spent so far in the search for natalee holloway.
