The ongoing trial of torture slaying alleged ringleader Lemaricus Davidson has proven one thing - evidence is in the eye of the beholder.
Both sides in this capital murder case are using the same cache of evidence for entirely different purposes. Prosecutors Leland Price and Takisha Fitzgerald are pointing to it to write for jurors the tale of what happened to slain Knox County couple Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. Defense attorneys David Eldridge and Doug Trant are utilizing it to craft doubt about that account in jurors' minds.

Good am. Do we know is the only unfinished business by defense the decision by LD to testify or not?

I also am perplexed about Eric Boyd. There was a reference during cobbins trial that Boyd's phone had pics of Chris's rape. Yet they've never surfaced. AND boyd's statement is sealed AND he ended up charged in federal court on only an accessory charge. Strange. Then a friend asked a question about why the ATF was so involved early on, even participating in some of the early interviews. Is it possible that Boyd had been an informant for the feds, possibly ATF before or during all of this?

Boyd has been strangly absent from mention in this trial. They talked about him a little, but not much. In the Cobbins trial, his name was a major feature.

Did they name him as the person who hid Davidson? Anyone remember?

Also have they had testimony in this trial that Davidson's prison buddy arranged for the transpost of 'The Gang From Kentucky' to get the back to Ketucky at the direction and request of Davidson? Wouldn't that indicate that Davidson was part of this whole thing, not separate from the others? Did I miss that testimony, or was it missing from this trial? Did the judge disallow it? Prosecution didn't want it for some reason?

Oh, it's ok to bring up cobbins past stuff but not Davidson's?

OMG What BS!

Defense wants to show jury that Cobbins committed a similar crime in the past...

Even though they would not let jury see that Davidson did too.

Defense asking that Letalvis Davidson (Cobbin) arrest in NY be admitted. Of course, they CAN'T bring Davidson's own carjacking.

Judge never heard before that Cobbins used Davidson's name. Neither have I.

I call BS.

Prosecution objects. Defense saying the law excludes the defenses bad acts but not anyone elses.

Yes, that's exactly the problem, isn't it?

Doesn't sound like the judge is buying this.

The judge is saying he never heard Cobbins held out as Davidson. He's saying that Cobbins has been put at the sceen but he hasn't testified, there's been no evidence directly put in about his involvement. There's been alusion, in Davidson's state. Judge isn't going for it...at least no yet.

No legal basis to allow this.

  • #299
Didn't some of the relatives in the last trial say Cobbins sometimes, not ususally, but occasionally went by Davidson?

Judge sees no legal basis.
