Yes, but most of us have trauma. I could have shown my stepchild the same abuse I received, but I didn't; I made a conscious effort to be better, to do better, and let that darkness die with me.

Evelyn deserved the same blissful naievete as my stepchild, but Megan only cares about Megan, I guess x
