Personal observation: are Megan and the truth EVER in the same room?

Friend was with Megan when Megan took a call from her dad, told him she'd be getting Evelyn back February 1st.

She never saw Megan upset, sad, worried (about Evelyn).

MB told this friend that Ethan had emergency custody because there was a photo of EB with a bruise on her head.
She said MB told her a few times that EB was with Ethan.

Defense attorney devoted quite a bit of time trying to pin the witness down to the date of their restaurant meal. Important why?

Asked if Megan was a good mom? (yes) Had she seen any signs of abuse? (No) Had she seen Evelyn dirty before that day? (No)

Defense back drilling witness on the date of Chili's.

State objects.

Defense asks to approach. Sidebar granted.

After sidebar, Defense keeps hammering.

Friemd stays firm. Meal was the last day of her college finals, a Friday, first or second week of December.

State on re-direct, affirms the Chili's meal was the last time she'd seen Evelyn.

I am beginning yo fear, based on the photos of that trashed trailer, that Megan may have left Evelyn home alone in that trailer so she could gallant. And then when she decided she didn't want that mess -- or Evelyn -- any more, she bolted, but not before killing Evelyn. Problems solved. No mess, no baby, no responsibilities.

It's putrid to me that Megan, who had family and plenty of privileges, instead of cleaning up the playhouse built especially for her so Evelyn could play there, she threw her dead body in there, like trash.

I think we're all agreed here on who the real trash is.

Next witness, Megan lived with her for 4 months, from 7th pregnancy month, if I heard her right.

Saw Megan and Evelyn in September. Evelyn was beginning to toddle.

Megan reached out to her twice, once to inquire about babysitting Evelyn so Megan could "go back to school".

No discussing text/facebook messages on Dec 3.

Megan asks lady if lady's sister would babysit Evelyn, and get paid after Megan gets paid.

Sue, the sister agreed. (Witness couldn't babysit because lady had broken ribs.)

Megan told witness she has a new bf, HW. On Dec 22. Megan and Hunter met her at a church program, Megan wanted her to meet HW. Megan told her Evelyn was with E, that they had shared custody.

Megan did not appear sad in any way, per the witness.

Didn't catch it but Defense asked witness if she was aware of a health condition that Megan had (maybe polycystic...).

Asks witness about Megan right after Evelyn was born, about being a good mom. I think she said Megan finished high school, was working on steps to have visits with Evelyn, before moving in her with her dad.

(Was there a period where Megan didn't have custody? Or did I hear that all wrong?)

Next witness S was is the sister of foster carer of Megan.

Megan called her to babysit Evelyn.

State publishes photo of Evelyn, taken by the foster carer's sister. Late Nov/early Dec. Evelyn looked healthy, was walking.

Witness said the last time she saw Evelyn was late at night.

Megan stopped bringing Evelyn to her to babysit.

Witness said Evelyn had a really bad diaper rash. "I've never seen a diaper rash that bad."

Describes that Evelyn was dirty, smelled like urine when Megan dropped her off. Witness had to bathe her. Dirty face, dirty clothes.

Witness S (sister of former fosterer, babysitter of Evelyn) describes text message exchange with Megan toward end of December. (Dec 21)

Megan hadn't paid her, told her she was having a custody battle with E. Everyday paid by leaving it in the mailbox, tires pealing out as she sped away.

Megan says in text that she's been crying, that E has emergency custody, and she (Megan) hadn't seen Evelyn "in days".

Megan told her she wouldn't be needing her to babysit anymore.

Defense attorney hopes people won't rush to judgment. Megan was a young, scared mother...

He says Megan didn't murder Evelyn, we don't know what happened, maybe she rolled over on her....

What?! Is this going to be their strategy? That it was an accidental death and therefore Megan isn't guilty, despite the fact that MEGAN HERSELF has never even kind of suggested such a thing, though LE have her every opportunity to cop to that, sparing herself big murder charges?????

Do I have this right? Supposing Negan accidentally killed Evelyn by rolling on top of her, but she'd rather risk LWOP then admit to an accident which could have gotten her a low or no sentence?

IMO Megan isn't admitting to anything. Because the truth is worse then what's already out there.

Next witness, ES. Megan dated her son. She met Evelyn maybe 10 times. Megan was always with her. "Connected at the hip." Never babysat Evelyn but continued s relationship with Megan after the break up. Witness chokes up, "I wanted to help her."

Megan came by in September, with "Evie". " That was the deal, of give her the decals for free, if she brought Evie."

Nov 21st was Evie's birthday. Megan came by to get stickers, Evelyn wasn't with her.

Witness has donned black gloves, opening evidence bag, witness cries, it's the shirt she made for Evelyn.

Gave Megan the shirt for Evelyn to wear for her 1st birthday, the blanket was to be a gift from her

Witness says Megan said Evelyn was "mean as chit". Witness says Evelyn was always smiley, happy.

Megan stopped responding to her.

Witness had gifts for Evelyn and Megan. Megan said she would stop by but didn't.

Saw Megan twice in January. At church. With HW. Evelyn was not with her. Megan told her Evekyn was with her father.

Asked Megan what Evelyn thought of HW. Megan said they hadn't been around each other.

Megan seemed happy. Never expressed worry or sadness.

Learned Evelyn was missing when LE showed up at her house. Not from Megan.

Picked Megan up from a Walmart in February because Megan called, had nowhere to go. Picked her up, hoping Megan would xonfide in her. Megan says she didn't know where Evelyn was. Megan said E stopped answering her calls/texts. Described Megan as emotionless. Not frantic, no tears.

So many carers around Megan, so many people who would have taken care of Evelyn...

What a self centered yuck. Some young moms have no help, have hard lives and still manage not to kill their babies. Megan had an entire village, killed Evelyn anyway.

Tragic. Maddening. Awful.

Witness reads texts from January 8th between herself and Megan.

Witness to Megan: I have been worried to death and you. Are you and Evie okay? Did you and Evie have a good Christmas?

Megan answered, "we did".

Defense wants a mistrial because what he thought was a screenshot of texts had a note from the Prosecution on it. Already shown to Jury
