Problem is two keys aren’t talking to the public:

Drew and the neighbor who heard the scream.

And it is a small southern rural town. They don’t like talking to strangers, believe me, I know. And they like their secrets, which are usually protected by the...

I see Putnam County Florida all over this story. To solve this, you need local people. Locals in PC didn't like the media. The story went NOWHERE. All that can be said is speculation and very few facts. Two and half years later and Haleigh is still missing.

Tara Grinstead (another rural southern town) same thing.

and then we have Haily Dunn. Nothing.

I'm a city person and know nothing about this kind of life. I could never live in the country anywhere...scared to death. These mindsets of the LE in these areas is something I can't rap my head around. The people seem to side with LE regardless, from what I have seen on these cases. I am glad the Bobo's came on TV, very glad. Now we need the rest of the people in the case to come forth. JVM is always ready....but few take her up on her offers.

Applauds for the Bobo Family.

Certain parts of the South are a whole different world. I get shivers just thinking of things that go on down there. This animal thing is a complete turnoff for me. Poor Holly...

It does take some getting used to - to live in the country, especially after living in the city most of your life.

LE definitely has it's role in running things. But guess who runs LE?

There are more churches in rural southern towns than fast food joints.

No disrespect to anyone - just stating my experience.

  • #744
Las Vegas has more churches per capita than any large city. hmmmm. coincidence? I think not. Why do they need so many churches? guilt is my answer.

  • #745
Churches have a certain amount of power in any given community, especially when it's a small town.

Relating that mindset to this case, could this unknown perp be connected in some way to the right church and be protected? It's just a thought.

I still cannot get over how long the abduction seemed to take. Like, this isn't some random stranger popping out of nowhere and dragging her away in a split second. From CB's own words it seemed to take a long time. What would an abductor be talking to her about for that extended time period? Like, did he need to describe for 10 minutes how he would kill her family if she didn't come?

  • #747
Assuming LE is taking their cue from Clint...the amount of time the perp seems to have spent with Holly before abducting her must be why they think this is a local and possibly someone known to her. It is hard to imagine she would be out there spending time with a stranger, bleeding, walking away with him and eventually screaming...when she was intending to get into her car and go to school.

I too am glad for the new round of media interviews and interest in Holly's case - FINALLY. I wish the family had spoken sooner, as I, probably like a lot of others, really gave up posting as it just seemed the same small amount of info was being hashed and rehashed, and getting nowhere. These new statements at least give a tiny bit of new info that can be looked at.

I wonder if, as someone stated earlier, the Bobos had that small town complete trust in LE, and so were okay with letting them handle it, and so kept quiet. If so, I wonder what it was that finally made them realize that the way it was being handled wasn't finding Holly, and wasn't keeping her case in the news and in people's minds?

I keep going back to the first few days of the investigation, where there was a very big sense of expectation that Holly was *just* about to be found. All the searches, including one, where, if I remember correctly, there was a sense that searchers were needed fast in a very certain area. All the news that was coming out made it seem like it was a very sure thing that Holly was very close, in those woods nearby to her home. And then suddenly, nothing. So I'm wondering what, if anything, made them think she was there, in those nearby areas. What clues were there that they did not make public?

So frustrating. Holly now seems further away than ever. :banghead:

sarx- help!

Let's say Holly was last seen entering the woods from around here:
35.40.46.29/88.10.33.85- what route was then taken? There are paths to the logging road mentioned by CB, but they go further through the treeline- where the dogs apparently lost scent.

If Holly was last seen here:
35.40.46.21/88.10.32.95- what route would have been taken to Swan Johnson?

And let's say her lunch container was found roughly here:
35.40.50.93/88.10.33.83 - was Holly walked to Swan Johnson and then got in a vehicle?

Coordinates are not exact- but are a representation of how important it is to determine which direction Holly was last seen headed.

Where are the indications of a vehicle being used in Holly's abduction, beyond speculation?

One person - not involved in the case, but a talking head on TV - is the only one to ever say the dogs lost scent at the treeline.

To me, all the statements by LE regarding the likelihood of the use of a vehicle, such as to look for someone cleaning, washing, disposing of a vehicle are good indications that a vehicle was used.

Do those numbers refer to a map? Can you post a link. TIA

But has anyone stated where the dogs actually trailed to, Bean? Because if Holly's lunch container was located several miles away, and Holly and her abductor were last seen on foot- it would stand to reason that they would have trailed to that location. But they didn't.

Is this where one of the reasons for the assumption of a vehicle being involved comes from?

Nope, no one has said where the dogs trailed to. No one has said the dogs didn't pick up any scent in the area of the lunch bag - or anywhere else.

Personally, just because that information hasn't been released, I don't assume that dogs didn't pick up scent anywhere.

I can't speak for what others base their assumption of a vehicle on. I can only speak for myself, and no, my assumption is not based on dogs or scenting, since we haven't gotten any info at all on that.

The numbers are coordinates, that refer to different places where Holly may have entered the woods and where evidence may have been found. You can pull them up on any mapping program that allows for GPS coordinates.

I don't want to post exact coordinates because it seems invasive to the Bobo families' privacy- so these are general areas.

I think it is very important to discern the exact location of where Holly and her abductor were last seen.

I don't assume that either, Bean. I am a bit perplexed as to why that information might NOT have been released... but that's neither here nor there. All of the searches (that I am aware of, anyway) focused east of Swan Johnson, in relation to the Bobo's home.

Why is that?

Just after 8 a.m. that April 13 Wednesday, police surrounded the country home. Within hours, dogs, helicopters, horses joined in the search.

Underwater cameras searched ponds in the area.

The next day, Holly Bobo’s packed lunch was found about six miles north of her home toward Interstate 40.

I haven't updated that in a while, and I think it's missing the statement about the puddle of blood, and also Clint's JVM interview blood statement.

VELEZ-MITCHELL: So where did you find the blood?

C. BOBO: It was in the garage, under where I saw the silhouette of them kneeled down in the garage.

BeanE- Hollye has a good map on Case Signal. It's not completely current (considering searches since then) but a good indication that LE believed Holly was taken east- or north in the direction of I-40.
