VELEZ-MITCHELL: But you called your mom in between when you saw them in the garage and when they walked out into the woods? Why did you do that?*
C. BOBO: I spoke with mom -- I spoke with mom initially to find out who the people -- I heard two voices outside our house and I called mom to try to find out who these people were outside our house. But I had no idea who they were.*

Reading this again I'm lost all over again. I know we have discussed but back to the carport/ and garage. Is the real garage empty or converted to a room? Carport is open and facing the. back of the property. Where was Clints car parked? Holly's? Was Clint's in the garage out of view? Holly's is in carport? So did he really see them in the garage or carport? He said garage and that would mean they were possibly inside the house? Or waiting for her to open the garage? I will wait for clarification and stop there.
My concern is why he didn't see Holly's car and how was there enough space to see two people kneeling unless there was not a vehicle there. Its so confusing how Clint words things. Like what he said above. He called his Mom to find out who these people were outside BUT he had no idea who they were.
There house is roughly 1500sq ft. He isn't laying in bed unless his window has a garage view and we assume Clint and Holly's rooms are close from Karen shutting the door so he didn't LOOK in Holly's room or notice she wasn't there or her car was still there BEFORE or during. His call with Mom? I find that highly unlikely. For now I'm revisiting the home invasion.

I agree with your assessment. There's nothing suspicious about him calling his Mom about people in the garage.
