snipped for brevity and afterthought:
Had to smile when you mentioned extra time in case of a flat tire - I can relate to that, something I did and still do for anything important.
Which brings us to the key point of just what took place with Holly on that fateful morning.
Are we sure the blood was identified as HB's ? IIRC someone in her family mentioned that, but did LE ever confirm?
Considering the amount of time the perp spent with HB, it seems to me that she knew the person and some sort of confrontation was taking place - as if he was someone spurred by her..
I can imagine a love-grazed man cutting himself, threatening to do himself harm if she didn't listen to him, go with him.... but cannot imagine her going with him on any day, let alone test day. Also, the blood found isn't his.
So I agree that someone threatening her makes more sense. A threat that
had to be really bad - she surely knew that would decrease her chances for survival.
So I ask, is it possible she assumed that her family or friends would know soon enough the person she went off with - causing her to think her chances were better by going with the perp than refusing?
I just cannot believe she would go for a ruse to administer aid to a injured person in the woods. She is an extremely attractive woman....I am sure she had more than one man attempt to get her alone & she had to be very worried about taking her test. Perhaps the perp at first tried to create a emergency ...I would think she attempted to get the perp to let her call 911. I imagine he rebuffed her. Maybe at this point he threatened suicide and slashed himself. He might have said if you do not come with me I will stab you then myself. Perhaps she thought she could contrive an escape. I would think she would try to be calm so as not to agitate the perp. Another thought is at some point she might have screamed perhap when he slashed himself. She might have hoped someone heard her scream and would come to investigate. So she wanted to appear cooperative.
You make a good point with the similarities to Molly's abduction. I have not read about that case but still believe in Holly's instance she would resist going off to a isolated area with a man. But as to what happened I read this thread hoping for some news. :seeya:
