Thursday's the one-year anniversary of the last Tennessee Bureau of Investigation press release about this case.

I am afraid I must disagree on this issue. A tight knit community has many quirks. And people cover for their own all the time. If the cops know the parents, then their kids can get stopped with crack on them and never face arrest. People will defend their own over anything, large or small. Teachers in small communities face this quite often. If they contact the parents over an infraction, the parents go off the deep end defending their child.

Example: In our tight knit community, we have numerous public and church preschools. In one particular preschool, the teacher of the 4 year old class would hand out suckers to students that had followed rules and listened during the 4 hour class time. She gave the suckers to the students as their parents picked them up at the door. This teacher has almost 40 years of teaching experience, so she has found the suckers are a big motivator for young ones. One parent was outraged that his child did not get a sucker. The child had been having lots of behavior problems in preschool, but the parents refused to discipline him. The father pitched such a fit that he even called the supervisor to complain. He insisted that the other children not be given suckers. The supervisor said this was the teacher's method of positive reinforcement and was allowed. The father was so irate, he began to bring his own big suckers to school and give them to the boy in front of the teacher and other children. Isn't that nuts? Do you think the preschooler improved his behavior?

This is one example among many! Yes, some families will stick their necks out to protect their kids from severe consequences and to shield their family name. Most young people who have been brought up knowing this have a powerful sense of entitlement. They feel they can get away.....with murder.

I so agree...my sister is a teacher and she is actually resigning this year to sell houses instead...because of the parents and how they refuse to instill any sense of responsibility in the kids...it is a shame as she is a marvelous teacher and the kids will lose out...more to the point in this case, and others, how many times have we seen parents denying that their children could possibly have done anything wrong, no matter the evidence? All the time...JMO

If LE has to count on family members to help crack an alibi, I'd say the changes of doing that are pretty slim...every once in a while, you see someone with a certain set of values who will step forward and report their child for a serious crime...but it is rare. JMO

I wonder who the anonymous donor was/is?

Looking at some of the photos from the early days gave me chills. The perp can be among them and they wouldn't even know it. :sigh:

I can't wait to see whether or not the turkey scene is left out of their reenactment.
I hope they show the person portraying Clint looking out onto the garage scene in some fashion. And not just out across the property to the woodline.

Because there is a wall between the covered patio and the carport. There probably is a doorway into that patio where the back door is located.
But, it is very hard to visualize how he could see around a corner to witness the kneeling around the imagined turkey. Or if there is NO door between so that a person rounds the end of the carport and up the steps to the patio leading to the backdoor, then I am at a total loss as to how he saw this in the ATTACHED carport.

I don't have tv or cable so if someone can post a link or record the episode, I would be much obliged.

I would be surprised if they do an entire portion on Holly...maybe just mention that it has been a year...but I will tape and watch it and let you know, if someone else doesn't...I can't post it though, sorry :(

I see our thread's flying under the radar a bit - still listed under "Hot Cases." Ah well, wishful thinking.

I remember when there was a big buildup to Lisa being on AMW, and it turned to be like a 30-second segment. I think at the most, we'll see an reenactment of the case, but it's not going be like a 48 Hours episode where the entire show is about one case. National media coverage can't hurt.

I looked at the photos before reading what your wrote and OMG I was thinking the same exact thing. Actually I don't know if I should bring this up but in one of the pictures there is a group of guys and one appears fairly happy, Anywhoooo...there is another guy not in the group watching them. I am wondering if LE plants people on these searches to keep an eye on what they say or do. I guess in a small town that would be hard to do as most people know everyone but it would be a good idea.

I'm sure LE had her brother, Clint, look at the photos to see if he recognized anyone to be the person he saw that fateful morning...

Skull found in river some 60 miles from Darden

http://www.newschannel5.com/story/17516368/human-skull-washes-up-in-bedford-co-river

http://www.t-g.com/story/1838037.html

One report saying it could go back to the Civil War... so who knows...

I saw the photos to this article.
You know what jumped out at me was,
no matter how old the skull is, it's amazing that
the detached jaw was still with the skull.
Often times when the tendons have gone they become separated when left in the open or exposed to moving water.

I found it especially remarkable for them to be still together in a river!
Washed up on a sandbar?
Usually they remain together when buried and left undisturbed.

From what I gathered they were just sort of posed on this gravel bed in the middle of a river? Not partially submerged?

Strange.

Not sure and I do not know for certain if that is the actual skull or "a skull" as in a stock photo.

About the suckers being given to four year olds for being 'good'.
I don't know if a four year old should be made to feel 'bad' on a regular basis by a teacher.
Maybe the kid has adhd, dyslexia or other problems - just being an antsy young boy makes it hard for some of them to sit still.
Give the boy something constructive to do like clean the erasers or let him move around somehow but don't withhold his sucker.

Old methods aren't always the best methods. :twocents:

Has LE ever released any evidence about this case? Were prints found on any of Holly's tossed objects? Were only Holly's prints found or were the items wiped clean?

How come there were no footprints or any evidence of a trail going into the woods within hours of her being led away that same day?

I don't know, just seems so weird.
Holly screamed loud enough for the neighbors to hear but Clint didn't immediately rush out of his house to see what was going on?
I'm sorry, something's not right.

LE is being so much more forthcoming in the Sierra Lamar case...true, she has not been found as yet, but they are determined and have searched without ceasing for 5 weeks straight now and updated the community every few days about evidence found, etc...whatever happened to Sierra, I feel she has a better chance of being found than Holly. I think too much is assumed in this case. Even if Clint was asked to look at the photos, how would he know? He allegedly saw the perp from the back and the perp was in full camo. How would he recognize him?

I'm lost. Did I miss something? What 4 year old? :waitasec:
