Have someone who I believe could be a good match.

Michelle Wells
Missing since 01/01/1982 from Detriot, MI

She was 13 at the time of her disappearance and is of Native American and White admixture. She has also red-hair. Another thing I found very interesting is in the picture used in her missing persons report. In the picture she is wearing a necklace that seems very similar to the one found on the UID. I believe her DNA is in Namus since no websites have listed it and she doesn't have a Doe Network profile. Detroit is far from where the UID was found but the suspected killer in the Redhead Murders used to be a trucker during his time of committing the accused crimes.

Here is Michelle and the UID side-by-side:

Please give me your thoughts on this lead.

Yes, you should please submit it. It could be a manual comparison needs to be done, even though they are both in NamUs.

Sounds great! I just sent an email to the Namus investigator for that region. Thank you so much for the support!

The person I emailed replied to me yesterday and said that Michelle Wells has already been excluded as well as a couple other girls.

She sent me this link to the excluded individuals if you guys are interested:
UNT Center for Human Identification

Hi, how are you able to get the comparison lists for UIDs. My Namus doesn't show that option on profiles for some reason.
You have to register and be logged in to see the rule out list on NamUs.

Yes register. You can also track cases that you want and can see when they are modified. I am crazy and track a bunch of UID and Missing people cases to see when rule outs are added, etc. I track this UID case because I originally thought years ago this could be Cherrie Mahan.

Has she been ruled out?

Hi sorry I know this doesn’t relate to this case but I was wondering if someone could help me make a forum for the Whittier John Doe. Karl did a recon on him but i guess he didn’t make a forum.

According to when I submitted the possible match to The Doe Network years ago, she was ruled out, but Cherrie still isn't listed on the rule out list.

Maybe try emailing Namus if she has been ruled out. Usually if a MP DNA and the Doe's DNA are on file they are an automatic rule-out bc the DNA would have matched automatically in the system.

Right, and I know a few other cases where they have a been of ruled out in Codis, but NamUs doesn't always add them to their list.
