Toronto mayor admits crack use

CP24 was at the Dixon Rd apartment where the project traveler take-down happened and many residents interviewed stated that they still stand behind the mayor with 100% support. I just don't get it.

I really think the problem goes a lot deeper than just supporting Ford. This type of thing was bound to happen with the amalgamation. The people in the "suburbs" of Toronto, who previously were not a part of the actual voting process for the city of Toronto, have some deep rooted issues in regards to the city it seems. Maybe they never felt like they could relate to the "elites" at city hall? That they didn't have their interests in mind when deciding things for the city? And they may still have an issue that the amalgamation was forced on them. So supporting Ford at this point is like a nice big "screw you" to the city.

RBBM

I think it must be that he continues to have support cause he's still seen as the champion of the common guy... and all of his lies are covering his own 🤬🤬*, and so many people live their lives that way every day that they can relate... and he's not misappropriating public funds or squandering tax dollars (at least so far as we know) like so many other politicians. IMO, he appeals to people whose own lives are a mixed up mess, because his fiasco seems to justify or 'normalize' their own dysfunction... JMO.

The support that is being advertised may be just a small portion of the true electorate. jmo
There is much more controversy if they can find people to go on the news and support him.
In my mind, there are not too many willing to keep this guy around. imo:seeya:

Doug Ford stands up for Mayor Rob Ford

TORONTO - Councillor Doug Ford alleged Friday that Mayor Rob Ford is the victim of a conspiracy and denied that his brother has used heroin or was hanging out with gang members.

When he was asked if the mayor has hung out with gang members since being elected in 2010 as the police document released Wednesday alleged, Ford again issued a denial.

Asked directly by the Sun why the mayor was allegedly hanging out in a crack house in Etobicoke, Ford took a shot at the newspaper.

“Your paper has gone a little offside,” he said.

Me thinks Doug doth protest too much. And isn't this the same guy who adamantly denied his brother had done crack?

And they're both really focused on the "he doesn't do any of that any more...he's moving on mantra. They're totally missing the point that it's only because he was caught. And he needs to be held accountable for his past behaviour. The weight loss regimen crap is ridiculous. Like if he is 60-70 pounds thinner come election time the people will vote for him. They only have an issue with his weight? Oh and those chicken wings he was chowing down on at the Buffalo Bills game aren't exactly diet food. Not to mention the pictures of him at the Mandarin Buffet restaurant. :floorlaugh:

Let's hope you're right. :please:

After watching this I realized that the one that effected me the most, was him knocking over the woman. This to me, says a lot about his character.

From what was previously stated, I believe he trying to run to where his brother was, because his brother was having an argument with someone.

His reaction to the situation, shows that he acted on impulse and made bad choices. How would he handle a real emergency?

He also showed complete disregard for everyone around him, to the point where he was willing to bulldoze over, anyone in his path to get to his "big brother" that was apparently engaged in a argument. What lengths are he and his brother willing to go to, to protect each other.

I don't think these two Fords have any business being in politics and certainly not together.

Reporter calls Mayor Rob Ford’s pedophilia insinuation ‘categorically false’

I want Daniel Dale to sue him for slander, as well for threatening him. Dale was only there to inspect the piece of public parkland that Ford wanted to add to his own backyard (it was in the public interest to report on this). There is no way he should have been subjected to intimidation and threats from someone twice his size (and enraged/unstable) while just trying to do his job. This pedophile stuff is just beyond the pale, even for RF - he should not be able to get away with this one.

It is also claimed that after DD had left, RF moved cinder blocks closer to his backyard to try and back up his nonsensical claim that DD was peeking over the fence (ie, to look at his kids).

Pam McDonnell (older lady, approx. 5ft tall and 100 lbs) who Ford mowed down, said that he didn't even look at her after he bowled her over (let alone apologize) he was so focused on what was happening with his brother, and it was the people behind her, who helped her up, not him. The camera angle seemed to show him looking at his brother but lending a hand in uprighting her, but the "assistance" was probably him just trying to push her out of the way, so he could get past her.

His brother, at the time, was challenging some people in the public gallery who were chanting "shame, shame".

GO DANIEL !! :drumroll:

Dear goodness....
If we ever wondered what it would be like if Charlie Sheen was an elected official....This has got to be pretty close.

Brother Doug pulled out a fat wad of money at a Toronto Public Housing Complex and started peeling off $20 notes and handing them out to the residents. Talk about trying to buy votes!

Asked if he plans to formally complain about Mr. Ford’s actions, Mr. Perks said he could not even think of the right measure. “It’s so far outside of any civilized norm for government behaviour that I can’t think of a mechanism that is an appropriate response,” he said.

“It is fundamentally corrupt and corrupting,” Mr. Perks said. “One of the most dangerous things in a democracy is when elected officials use their money to try to win favour with the public. History has all kinds of examples of how bad things end up at the end of that road. I thought I had lost my capacity to be shocked by the Fords, but I’m shocked.”

He is also slinging his money around elsewhere, by promising $50,000 to be split among 10 Toronto parks ($5,000 each)
The councillor, who is an executive with the Ford’s family business Deco Labels, is also offering $5,000 to help rejuvenate ten parks in the city, donations he says he is free to make. “He can say all he wants,” he said, responding to Mr. Perks’ objections. “It’s my choice. He can think all the ethics he wants. It doesn’t even faze me,” Mr. Ford added.

Now, that made me laugh. These two seem to be about as outrageous as it gets!
