We are appealing for information as part of an ongoing search operation for a missing woman from Carlisle.

Tracey Wood, aged 47, was last seen at approximately 10am on Wednesday 5 October.

Officers were contacted earlier today (8 October) with the report that Tracey was believed missing. A search operation is ongoing in the area of the Sheepmount in Carlisle, following the location of her vehicle.

Officers are appealing for information on anyone who has seen this vehicle, a blue Nissan Juke reg no: T3TRA, in order to gain a full understanding of how long the vehicle may have been there.

Tracey is described as being 5ft 10 inches tall with long brown hair.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts or has seen a woman matching Tracey’s description is asked to contact police immediately.

Officers are combing the Sheepmount area of the city after Tracey Wood’s car was found there.

This is local to me. In fact, just yesterday (and before I knew that this lady was missing) I cycled through the area that is being searched, although there was no sign of any police activity when I was there. What was noticeable, though, was that the adjacent River Eden was higher and faster flowing than it has been for months, and I am sure that this is a concern to anyone who is involved in the search.
