Me too. I'll give my doctor a list and he can have a variety of things to choose from. Ballet flats (They keep my feet comfortable and that helps prevent PTSD you know) Ralph Lauren perfume etc.

What a :banghead: this Samuels is!

Didnt the Dr get free dental work in Jersey?

Samuels makes it sound like there are two stories when in fact there are three.

I wasn't there.
I was there but The Ninjas did it
I was there and I killed TA in self defense

Q: If PTSD has to be diagnosed within two months [of event] but you did not see her until 2009, can you diagnose her with PTSD? The diagnosis of PTSD is not a “get out of jail free” card. [I believe he said it was Acute Stress Disorder that must be diagnosed quickly, PTSD can be later. I will need to relisten.]
Q : Can you be sure Jodi is not lying to you? Not with 100% certainty. A very consistent story may indicate lying.
DS: Would the shutting down of the hippocampus affect someone’s control of their actions? If someone is trained for combat, the likelihood of getting PTSD is lower. [Refers to Time magazine article again. Oy.] But even with training it may be insufficient to prevent PTSD.
Q: Referring to the events of June 4, 2008, does Jodi have suppressed memories? Based on what is known about Acute Stress Disorder, it is highly unlikely she has true memories.
DS: Hypnosis not helpful because the memories are not there. Not helpful in cases of Dissociative Amnesia. The probability of success is not high.
Q: What steps do you take to tell what is lost memory and what is lying? You have to look at the surrounding [data]. Research conducted shows that Dissociative Amnesia is a real thing. It depends on the nature of the killing. I am fairly confident she has it.
Q: Is it possible for individuals to fool professionals about Acute Stress Disorder and Dissociative Amnesia? A thorough evaluation is needed, get surrounding information, see crime scene descriptions, crime scene photos. I reinterviewed her. Once the story changed I was confident she was telling what happened. The testing is sensitive to trauma. Not 100% accurate. Based on [my] experience.
Q: Was Jodi tested more than once? Not to my knowledge.
Q: Can you tell when someone is lying or telling the truth? Unless you have corroborating information, no, you can’t.
Q: You stated that she never wrote negative things in her journal, but had negative statements [several examples given]. Is that consistent? Those [negative statements in her journal] are relatively mild, there’s nothing about her wanting him dead or wanting to hurt him. Little evidence that she was violent.
Q: Are there other disorders in DSM that apply to Jodi? Yes, some are similar [to PTSD]. [Missed answer.]
Q: Are there any signs to explain why some people can recall events after trauma and some cannot? Too hard to predict. We know it happens often, Jodi did suffer from Acute Stress Disorder by implication.
Q: How do you ask questions of your clients? Do you ask leading questions? Sometimes I ask leading questions, usually I just let them talk. After several meetings, I might ask leading questions.

I think the stare at the juror thing is the psycho's last ditch attempt to try to connect with someone and sway their vote. Dress with open blouse and smile...try to manipulate like the b&*%$ always has. Screw her and her disgusting existence.

I'm surprised she didn't try to get in a couple headstands before the jury left.

During my lunch hour I watched some of the original 48 hours story on the case. Wow does Jodi look like a completely different person now! She looks like she's aged a good 15 years.

In the end, she says "I know I won't be the first innocent person convicted and sentenced. I would prefer the death penalty because I don't want to spend the rest of my life in prison". I thought it was interesting that she stated it that way, like she knows she'll be convicted.

HLN just said they are getting $12/day.

Lol they can all come to court with elephant t shirts
You know they've been wearing those ribbons for a long time
It's a way of ja to control
Does she fear its going downhill for her?

My thoughts exactly, its about JA because I don't get why all of sudden they are being asked to remove them when they have been worn since day one and we have been seeing them for over 3 months now.

Didnt the Dr get free dental work in Jersey?

They said ' in exchange for dental work' so I guess yes? Samuels called it bartering.

So am I getting way, way too much info? I feel like it's going to be 20 pages long. Probably not what people want?

Before court started attorneys were in chambers.

Juen comes out and takes Travis' family to conferance room.

Family comes out and says they were ask to remove their ribbons.

Tweeter said they were remvong them, but later twitted they left them on, refused to take them off.

I say good for them.

All of my support, love and hope go towards Travis's family and I fully understand the importance that the ribbons hold to honouring Travis's memory.... Victims of crime should be able to express their grief and love for their loss....
But, if the Judge ordered the removal of the ribbons it would be important to heed her directions....or risk being held in contempt of court or at worst a possible mistrial...
This is what we were told at the trial for our daughter's murder...it felt awful having to remove our white and purple ribbons....it didn't seem right...in fact it seemed like adding insult to injury....we really lamented it and we felt overwhelmingly sad and jaded about it...
But it was explained to us that the appearance of the family's wearing of the ribbons might "interfere" in the impartiality of the court process...there is case law supporting this. Even though there were two confessions in our case, and we knew they were guilty, apparently the premise of "innocent until proven guilty in a court of law" had to be maintained for a fair trial...
.as awful as it was, we removed the ribbons - we did not want to jeopordize the trial at all....
We were allowed to wear them in court again when we read our victim impact statements at the end of the process.... When both murderers were given life sentences.
It is so heart wrenching and traumatizing and shattering to be a victim of crime - it oftentimes seems that the criminal's rights at times overrides the victims....but
I know there will be justice in this case and our hearts will remain with TA's family ....forever...

Went like this:

"You said that sexual intercourse and immersion in hot or cold water could cause transient global amnesia. Is that list exhaustive, or could other types of trauma -- for example the kind of trauma induced by a bad haircut -- cause it too?"

Bingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She DID think she "traded" up. Travis was a better "catch" than any other man she had EVER dated. She WOULD NOT give up on snagging him without a fight.

This is called MOTIVE!

just sayin'

I realize there is no satisfaction short of bring your daughter back, but I'm so happy you received some sort of justice. God bless you.
I PRAY the Alexander family can find some peace through this process.

Exactly what we want, thanks for your help!

I think JM will get some mileage out of the doc's responses to juror questions when he has RS on the stand again. Does anyone think that the "motive" suggestion will come up? Juan had to get a chuckle out of that remark ;)

  • #1,820
But it also might be someone trying to catch her in a lie because she has some 'memories' from that time...like the clanging of the knife on the tile...

......And that she remembers screaming!

But it doesn't matter, because she premeditated this whole trip and Juan will prove it.
