Goodnight everyone!:offtobed:

Remember folks, this is about justice for Travis Victor Alexander, everything else is trivial and most importantly, it's not personal people, please don't make it so.

I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone group, person, gender, in particular, not my intention nor is it meant to offend anyone in the least, nitenite.

Excellent thought and I think I can now see it that way too. I just wish she wouldn't change rulings from what she previously ruled on or in or out. I think the defense uses her hesitation and caution against the PT and often gets to sneak things in she previously kept out..which is, of course, hard on Travis' family and makes me worry about Travis getting justice.

Someone on HLN said this is the Judges first death penalty trial. I imagine she is dotting the i's and crossing the t's. I also imagine that is why Juan is so thorough!! Just sayin'.

The "jury" on HLN voted 11-1 that Travis did not abuse JA.

I'm with you there, commspec, but I think they'll still be there for a while more.
I think ALV will be on the stand for both sides this week (3 more days) and next week; then, assuming the defense rests, rebuttal and CA's - 2 weeks; verdict, 1 week; if G on 1st, mitigation/penalty phase, 2 wks; verdict 1 week.

Puh-leeze, someone, tell me I am exaggerating on this!

Unfortunately, you are not exaggerating, borndem. But when it's finally over, my bet is the jury will adjourn to the deliberation room, count to 100, and press the buzzer! Jodi won't even have time to put on makeup or prepare for her 'close-up'. The next time we see her, she'll be wearing her prison duds as she is chauffered away on the prison bus. Happy Days!

Imo....
And my opinion....only....

Mike Brooks is hammered.

Ohh no you didn't :slap:
LOL I have had a crush on Brooks since the 'we wont talk about no more injustice for baby in FL trial' >> my BF believes is when I lost my mind!

Actually, Brooks has a tough time getting in what he wants to say in nano seconds so... his ocd kicks in when on a timer :blushing: something about them FBI men from the south!!

I am in court and litigation way too much to ever feel sorry for an expert. There have been a few times that I have felt really bad for the way my pit bull attorney went after the lying, lying, liar. But that's a quasi-normal empathic response...until you remember that they are lying and cheating and trying to game a system. In this case, it's a brutal murder!!

I don't feel sorry for RS in the leAst bit. He wasn't "one of JA's victim's"! He has free will..he is a highly educated individual who had all the opportunities in life ( that not everyone gets) to make this world a better and/or safer place just by having been in it. No way will I ever feel sorry for him. In fact, I would feel sorry for Jodi before I felt sorry for that "expert"....-and trust me, that is saying something.

It was to be his fifteen minutes, and it didn't turn out like he planned. How can one be so incompetent ,so lacking in ethics and boundaries. One who has no idea just how bad his actions?

He didn't take Jodi's talk of suicide serious and made the call that she'd be fine (in the interest of saving her from being de-humanized by being monitored) and not tell at least jail officials about them. He didn't call JW and tell her. What excuse would he of given if Jodi did try and succeed? keep his mouth shut and no one would know?

I totally see your point and you are correct! Wow..I should of kept quiet but, I just agreed with the girl who said she felt a little sorry for him at the end because I understood what she meant because I felt that way a little bit at the end when he got off the stand. Im human and have compassion for some people. I have no compassion for Jodi what so ever and want her to fry!!!! Wow you guys can be brutal..I see why none has there face in there pics haha..im learning as I go...please be nice to us newbies!!

Simple.
This guy is a liar for hire. His testimony is not remotely accurate or competent.
He is a blowhard who provides an account of JA behavior after the murder. " An alternate reality" - ie JA bald face lie.

Samuels is nothing but a buffoon.

Samuels explanation of JA behavior is vacuous. What ever JA said or did after 6-4-2008 would count for expected behavior - irises to the grandmother, attendance at memorial, standing on her head, cry laugh or whatever. Doesn't matter.

He was waiting for some of his documents that had been admitted into evidence to be released.

I wouldn't worry about it. I live in the south and if I had 2 cents for every time someone used the slur "red neck", I would be rich.

Get over the hypocrisy.

Radar Luv,
I am from the South and now live in the North. I do have strong opinions about this trial and it is the ONLY reason I come here and post. Yep, I have heard everyone from the south being called red necks too; like people from the north, east and west don't have issues! I haven't called anyone names but a professional testifying on Jodi's behalf would incur my wrath. I am not politically correct. Never will be. Nor am I out to hurt anyone. But anyone posting here should be able to speak their opinion, regardless of who likes it.

He was wanting to take 3 of his files, which were entered as exhibits. He was waiting for a ruling from the Judge.

I'm not sure if he got them or not.

Its said the woman who is now testifying is a pioneer in her field. Doesnt matter to me at all. The ME who testified for OJ was concidered the same and his answers were vague in nature. Goes to show money talks and everything else walks.

I missed most of today so I cannot make comments about today's testimony. I don't understand your comment about people not having their faces in their pics. I don't understand your point. I am a newbie too and welcome to you.

ALZ is in a tough position.

She's very busy with the schedule she describes and I have a feeling in the pit of my stomach that SHE HAS NO IDEA that her career is on the line.

When my friend, a doctor, injured her neck in a car accident, she became an expert witness on drug interactions. She developed a reputation and word of mouth spread that she could be trusted to testify based on the POV of the side hiring her, pros or def, and it did not matter because she stuck to the science and the cases.

I worked for her as a paralegal and we skipped studies and cases which were not persuasive for her employer's side. Also, I can tell you for a fact that she did not care one whit what went on in a given trial before or after she got up to testify.

That's why I have a hunch that this highly-qualified woman does not really understand that her "I understand both sides" attitude is why she has been hired to explain why Jodi Arias fits the profile of an abuse victim. I'll bet she has NOT studied SM relationships and has NO INFORMATION about the case other than what the defense has given her in order to elicit the opinion they want.

Which means she will be blindsided by Juan the Machine. He will start with "Would it surprise you to know, that is, would it make a difference if you knew that------" Now she is in the crosshairs. Will she compromise her principles to continue to support Travis as an abuser and Arias as the victim? Or will she refuse to answer based on having insufficient information?

If she does the former, her career will be over. If she does the latter, then the prosecution will quickly give her the information she is needed, with their slant, and the defense will object (overruled) and the defense will have made a huge mistake.

Mark my words, Juan Martinez will switch their expert witness to testifying on behalf of the prosecution and he will do it so skillfully it will be like watching a master sculptor.

Very well said. And, while I agree with your assessment wholeheartedly, I must say, she put herself in this position. It was her responsibility as an "expert" to do her research, get all the facts and not just rely on the defense's (mis) information.

She made the decision to testify on behalf on JA. And, you're correct, something must give, one way or the other. The only sure thing: her career will NEVER be the same. And, the truth is, there is one person to blame. And it isn't JA. :twocents:
