Oh, BTW, I got to see no more than five minutes of testimony. Would anyone like to give m,e some highlights from today? What was the best moments? The worst? Did the new expert really get into testify8ing? All I saw was that Wilmott was establishing her expertise. Did she give any opinion?

Best for me was when JM caught Samuels telling the jury that if anyone ever showed signs of killing themselves, he would immediately tell authorities. JM came back and asked Samuels if he did some extra studies since his last cross as to what the procedures are. Of course he answered no but JM got his point across.

Worst for me was hearing the new witnesses' credentials.

You are right - That is the reason why the jurors will never hear about Jodi climbing into the house thru the doggie door (which I have heard here).

They have heard it. Mimi said that Jodi had sliced his tires twice and his dates once. She said that Jodi had hacked his accounts, snooped on him followed her and Travis on a date.

It sure as heck could go that way. In our case everything just kept escalating. I have a blind dog to prove it. :(

Hug and kiss the dog everyday. He will know he is safe and loved.

I have always heard that expert witnesses usually cross each other out, since both sides usually have experts for the same thing.

I can't remember an expert from any trial I have ever watched that made a difference to me. They are paid experts to speak for their side.

At the end of the day, I believe the Jurors will go with the evidence not someone's opinion.

This is IMO...

Maybe one of our Attorneys can speak to that.

I think expert witnesses are only useful when it's a technically complicated case where experts are needed to explain what even happened to the lay people on the jury or when a case is a very close call. I see the expert witnesses being utterly useless in this case since it's been known all along that Jodi lies and has lied numerous times about her role in this incident. How can an expert phychologist evaluate someone who is a liar? Phychology is only useful when the patient is truthful and wants to address their mental/emotional/behavioral issues. But the defense has do something to try to explain Jodi's fognesia and numerous lies as something other than the lying liars lies.

Mimi testified in court and said this?

Goodnight everyone..and thank you for the vast knowledge you all have enlightened me with today!

My jaw dropped when I heard (and saw) this exchange:

Willmott: Do you have your own practice as well?

LaViolette: My private practice?

Willmott: Yes.

LaViolette: Yes I do.

Willmott: So besides coming here to testify
are you, do you also have a private practice that you’re running?

LaViolette: I hope so when I get back…
(heavy-breath laughs while scratching head)
Then instantly.....
(glances over to the jury then looks down down)

I believe this gal knows all too well what she's gettin' into. JMO

Sorry. Thanks for the spellcheck.

Don't misunderstand - I do realize that some people spell defense "defence" - It was rather a joke - We know that people from all over the world post here. No offense intended.

By all accounts, no one on the jury chuckled at her joke.

Of course I understand. No offence taken. I have duly corrected my original post. Thanks for your correction.

Goodnight W'sers *kiss*

:rollercoaster:

Catch you tomorrow and can't wait for ALV!

I think you could be correct. I hope Juan doesnt even ask her about it. He somehow knew the Dr. was paid so he brought it up. Unless he knows for sure she is paid, he probably wont ask about it.

I am not too worried about what she says because if its based on Jodis statements only, hopefully the jury has made up their mind she is lying about everything. But I am upset with her or any defense witness that can knowingly go into this trial based only on what Jodi said. After listening to Jodi on the stand, the lies were jumping out of her and it was painfully obvious.

I would love to ask these witnesses off the record if they truly believe what they are testifying to.

I would not worry. This is not about her. This is about Jodi. I would like to see JM get her back on the stand. He may have already laid out the ground work. Back on the stand. Totally unexpected.

I must have missed her attempts at making jokes.....I know that if she personally attacks Travis - That will NOT go well with this jury. I expect she will, however.

Jodi had blonde hair when she rented the car. When did she die it?

It was lame and easily missed. The jury didn't react at all. Nothing important for sure.

You are correct. So far the slashing tires incident has not come out. Neither has the bizarre email (psychopathic) she sent to TA's date. Neither has her handstand, her talking to herself about make-up, her side of text messages when he called her a three hole wonder or when he said he felt like a dildo with a heart-beat. That is justice in America. On the flip side, she can kill him and then claim that he was a pedophile without a shred of evidence.

Sad, but true.

moo

Are you sure? I thought it did come out with MImi Hall? The note and the tire slashing?

I only saw snips of her testimony. I know HLN has everyone's testimony so i may go back and check.

Im soooooooooooo SICK of this prosecuter and this whole case actually ..This guy is gonna have a retirement home right beside the Casey Anthony prosecuters house when this is over . There's no dought she did it but it's the prosecuter's blowing all these cases . The defense isn't winning it for her thier just staying quiet and letting this moron rammble on forever and ever im tellin ya right now he's blowen this case . There will be fist fight's in the dam jury room. This trial and prosecuter is a JOKE....

Most of the attorneys on here (like me!) give him high grades. We can kind of tell what effective litigation looks like. He's made some mistakes here and there but I give him a 9.5 out of 10. I really think this guys is excellent.

I think sometimes it's hard when watching a real trial to be able to determine whether a case is going well or not. That's because real trials can be very tedious and boring.

See, JM knows all the elements he needs to prove and/or disprove and has to account for any potential wild card on the jury box who may grab at something a defense witness said. So, JM must thoroughly address everything said that could possibly sway even one juror, even when it seems it is understood. That's because while most may have gotten the point, one or two might not have. JM has to make sure that potential issues of every juror is addressed.

ETA: On t.v. the cases are neatly presented and wrapped up within an hour. In real life it is a boring exercise of laboring through each element of the crime or defense.

P.S.. When you look at cases like casey anthony's and OJ's, those are gross anomalies that, when averaged with the vast volume of murder cases tried every day in this country, just cannot be used as a barometer for what reasonably could be possible here.

Further, there has been such a volcano of evidence against jodi, much of it presented during the defense's own presentation, that IMO, the only bad result we can have here is a hung jury and that will only happen if there's a mentally ill or intellectually disabled juror.

So it's only wrong if people are offended? If it's ok to insult appearances for one witness, why is not ok for all? Seems like overweight or bald people could be offended by the comments about Samuels.

All I can say is that I am so happy I was not here to hear sexual orientation or feminazi insults. It would shape the way I view posters who I now adore!!!!!

But I don;t like any of the insults about witnesses or attorneys' appearance, either, unless it is absolutely germane, like they are wearing something grossly inappropriate or are wearing things or having certain hairstyles to do some4thing (like jodi hiding her face or trying to appear like a little girl or sociopathically emulating her attorney since she has no personality of her own).

Haircuts or suit choices or sock choices or Numri;s weight or junk adjustments, have nothing to do with this case and how well anyone is doing.

It's a very long trial. Not everyone is going to get everything right all the time. And not every last thing about every last person testifying or litigating for the defense is evil or ugly, simply because they are on the wrong side.

That's a cheap way to avoid actual, intelligent criticisms, IMO!!!!

Nope... if you can't take it; don't go there.

I view the pics to build my theories based on the injuries.

My DH needed to see them for himself. Instantly he decided not self defense.
Then the gas cans, stolen gun, told him it was premeditated.

It DID come out with Mimi's testimony; inadvertently...But the State has not entered any of it into evidence which leads one to believe they they were not allowed to do so.

I just posted all my afternoon observations on the court observer thread. If that helps...it's a bit of a cliff notes of the color inside the courtroom. :seeya:

He's passionate. So he sometimes raises his voice and actually "gets involved". Even that is no longer acceptable. He now has to put up with the DA asking the judge to intervene. Shame on the DA that they can't muster enough conviction for their client that they would inadvertently raise their voice while questioning a witness. They smirk and roll their eyes instead. Whisper away.

moo

I don't know if passionate is an adjective I would use to describe him. He raises his voice a lot. It sounds a lot different on t.v. compared to when you're in the courtroom and if it has a high ceiling their voices bounce off the walls and can get quite nerve racking. I don't care for Nurmi's long drawn out questions either. I feel so sorry for this jury. I bet they can't wait to hear, you may now go back and deliberate. Well I'm gonna go it's just to painful and slow to type.
