I know this will not be popular but I am glad they do not have court if she is in fact ill. Why?

Because she has to be able to participate in her defense. I don't think at this point she would fake it because this is where she gets to put her defense on that is her make it or break it points. She wants the jury to hear it. I think the issue is that she is not getting fed for long periods of time, at least that is according to Beth Karas. And I have no reason to doubt her.

If the trial goes ahead and she can not participate in her defense it could mean a reversal later. I want her healthy and strong so that this sticks. I want her to be able to understand and hear it when she is found guilty.

I want this over as much as the next guy, but I want her to get the fairest trial possible. No retakes.

BBM (I'm trying it again!)

I AGREE! But I don't think she's just participating in her defense. I think she's running the show. Nurmi & JW are just puppets. I don't believe any attorneys in their right minds would normally behave this way in a capital murder trial. The scene is being set and the script written by the master manipulator herself. I wouldn't be surprised to learn she gave them lists of questions to ask each witness.

Yes. I think she's THAT narcissistic. :twocents:

Choose a beautiful indoor green plant, maybe like a spider plant or a prayer plant! The spider plant is great because it keeps making little baby plants and you can see life regenerating or the prayer plant well, because it's just so appropriate! JMO

I am just kidding. I have a balcony. Just not a green thumb. I am just enjoying the day off with my 4 legged ones. I'm ok vegging in front of HLN for a while. Chores are done.

Okay, I may be repeating something that has already been said, and if that is the case - my apologies.

I'm at work listening the The Juan cross examining JA on day 24 (it helps me focus - I think I have add or something like that).

Several folks on here have mentioned the possibility of JA using the phone sex tape to blackmail Travis, going so far as to create a YouTube account at the end of May (May 28???) = 18 days after said tape.

Juanderful just said to her about her not telling him about being recorded (on the tape), and then said, "You could have posted it on the Internet if you wanted to, right?"

I feel a MAJOR BOMB coming during the rebuttal! I surely hope so!

Juan is VERY STRATEGIC in his questioning. Lots of the TH say he focuses too long on little details, but he has a plan. Beth Karas said it best when she said he's always 5 steps ahead of everyone else.

I have read about other trials he has prosecuted, and he tends to skip around during the trial, but in the closing arguments, he ties it all together and puts a bow on it for the jury.

He purposely held a lot back during the prosecution phase as well. He waited to see the details Jodi testified to, so he can completely blow her out of the water in rebuttal.

It will be sooo entertaining to watch the master at work during rebuttal and closing.

I cannot wait!

How about a country where the Victim has just as many rights?

Personally, I don't think it was a migraine. I think Jodi did not take her medication this morning and was about to flip out. Something defense did not want the jury to see. She's come pretty close to some outbursts lately. If Jodi is there tomorrow we should watch to see if she is heavily medicated. jmo

I don't know... HLN just said Jodi gets breakfast between 2-3am and dinner at 5pm. No food at county jail/court, period. These trials are daunting enough when you get a proper meal three times a day. :p Going without food from 2am to 5pm daily and being woken up at 2am every night when you need to focus on your death penalty case would leave most people feeling faint and getting migraines. Some energy bars and a littlw sandwich at lunch would sure save a lot of tax $ and help Travis' family out emotionally and financially...

I thought they (DT) brought the lack of lunch for Jodi up to the Judge a few weeks ago and the jail was ordered to let her have a baloney sandwich or something at lunch time? :waitasec:

Don't give her any ideas. I'm sure she has an unsupported opinion and story to go along with that too. "One time I knew a victim who had migraines! Must have been because of abuse."

"One time, at the shelter, there was a woman who had terrible migraines..."

apologies if this has already been discussed, but the rebuttal witness on the list filed most recently is a Mesa PD person -- Robert Brown. I googled him and he's in computer forensics, so my guess is that this is in anticipation of Laviolette on the pedo pics. Pure guess, though. I didn't see anything on the document about the subject matter of the testimony.

Karmady, can you tell us who else is on the rebuttal witness list? People have been asking here and there, without any answers.

TIA

I think this could be a ploy for mistrial..

Not to mention it's Classic BPD to stop eating.. for attention, to show her suffering or just being a passive agressive pain in the a$$ive ;)

:waitasec: I remember this issue about Jodi's "eating schedule" came up a while back -- I can't remember exactly when it came up because this trial is so "disjointed" ...

But I remember it came up before ... so wouldn't this issue about her "eating schedule" have been RESOLVED by the jail or the sheriff's office or court ?

JMO but I don't think Jodi not having her lunch or eating is the REAL issue here today ...

I think JA is up to no good as usual and is "acting out" -- for a reason !

Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. My son's tumor is Malignant, we will be going to a pediatric hospital tomorrow.
I feel like I am still in shock, but I just wanted to check in and say I miss watching the trial with you all.

I'm so sorry. I too have had some recent bad news regarding my son.
His MRI shows abnormal vascular issues, causing him to faint.

I know how helpless and numb you must feel :(

We'll know more after the neurologist visit April 2nd.

Prayers for your son and family

I agree. As much as we may detest her, she has not yet been convicted and she does have rights. I would surely feel faint if I was forced to '"fast" for 13 hours a day, under the best of circumstances. The Maricopa County Jail should really make some arrangement to provide lunch to this defendant.

Even if she was overcharged, she won't walk since she's admitted killing him unless the judge refused to charge a lesser included and the entire jury voted to acquit on 1st degree and felony murder. Those two things will never happen together imo

My guess is that the jury would hang on the current charges and the State would take a plea rather than re-try her or, more likely imo, the Judge will charge second degree and they'll convict her of that unanimously. :twocents:

eta: I should say, this assumes they don't by self defense which, imo, goes without saying. Which is why I didn't, at first lol

I agree with you. She won't walk in a million years. It's preposterous to think such a thing.

Except that the term they used was "feeding schedule" - like at the zoo. :floorlaugh:

Beth Karas said on HLN earlier that she has spoken with JA.

When ALV was yacking about all her experience, etc, did she mention any meetings with Jodi?
I know Dr Quack mentioned right away he spent 25-30 hours with her and had 12 visits.

JM seems to go through the witnesses pretty fast. It took awhile to present his CIC but he did have a lot of information to present to the jury. I've only seen JM have problems with hostile witnesses he is trying to impeach. Jodi was one. He needed her to give him a specific answer so she could not go back on it and she would not cooperate. This is what took so long. Same with Samuels. Once RS admitted to his mistake JM moved on. jmo

recognition. I have a lot of admiration for career prosecutors who do their job day in and day out for much less money than they could make elsewhere. I obviously don't know the guy but I get the sense that he's very dedicated and takes his role very seriously. I know a lot of lawyers who are jovial, glad-handing types yucking it up with the opposition after court. And in civil cases who cares-it's just about money. But violent crime prosecutors who have to deal with victims and their families behave very differently.

I think it's great that Juan is getting all this attention-he deserves it. If I lived in AZ I'd be proud that he was representing the people of my state. How nice to admire someone actually doing something important instead of the Kardashians or something.

HLN talking about Juan Martinez, he now has "rock star" status, well, I thought he already did, lol.
One court watcher called him "mesmerizing". And, they showed him walking outside the courthouse and he was .... smiling . I know I'm being silly, but I can't help it, he's just sooooo cute :blushing:

I think you are 1000% right. Esp with Wilmott making the comment that she did about JA taking her meds. Her 'What's this, what's this?" at Nurmi the second the jury was out of the room looked like she was getting ramped up.
I think the DT has a time of it on their hands. I don't think it's a migraine. It's her coming undone without swallowing her little friends....
