BTW -----------> HLN is replaying opening statements tomorrow 1-4 or so the commercial this morning said. Since Juan's opening in its entirety was not online, thought some would like to know that!
:seeya::great::seeya:

Thanks ANJ! Was there a lot of the opening missing? Front end? Would much rather view online than go through "triple-digit-lost-miles" of commercialville.

threeplus1, sorry I should not have laughed at your post.....it took me back to the last few months of my Dad's life. He had Alzheimer’s, and would watch a show over and over again, hoping for a different ending....it was funny, kinda....again, I am sorry that I laughed...

Several of us posted that the live feed was back on and then posted that it was a replay. Since the board moves so fast, I figured you might have missed where we all posted that it was a replay and didn't want people trying to search for a non-existent hearing. No offense taken.

What date are we on? I had to answer a call 30 minutes ago and it seems like we are still on the same date????

What year is it??? I was writing a check and had to look at calendar, pitiful, this is becoming past way too long.............:banghead:

I think it is Wong, from HLN......has to do with the mistrial motion last week

Hmm?
Maybe I'm confused but if this is a witness for the Defense case ie Self Defense what would a "producer/media" person have to do with that??

I'd think that would be a witness for meetings on motions in chambers right?

I'm just wondering how they are going to say Travis had such a hold on JA to make her go to Mesa. They seem to be showing JA is breaking away and becoming more assertive. Hmmm...

guilted her into going....same thing they keep saying .....:banghead:

Earlier, on HLN, Jason Lamm said that they would probably try to get an appeal on this issue, but the judge was ready this morning, cited cases from Arizona law and covered all the basis and he thinks an appeal would be denied.
There is GOING to be an appeal, unless JA is acquitted. The question is will the decision on that appeal be 500 pages or 5,000 pages long.

Who the hell is RS?

:newhere:
Howdy, Ammonitida! I was wondering the same thing, so I googled it...
RS = Richard "Dick" Samuels a/k/a The Fog Whisperer

LaViolette is a good witness for the defense. She is taking actual communications (perhaps out of context) and tying them directly to the characteristics of abusive relationships. However, the defense could have made her testimony much more impactful by hitting the high points and managing this testimony more efficiently.

I do think LaViolette actually believes most of what she is saying -- she has a long history of treating battered women, and that is the filter through which she views all relationships.

I am not concerned that this witness will change the outcome of the trial because I know Juan is prepared to cross examine her and he still has his rebuttal case.

In any form of communication it takes much more work to be succinct than verbose.

To me, Wilmott's going day by day through Jodi and Travis' correspondence shows a lack of preparation for direct. She stutters, fumbles papers, starts on one line of questioning, then says "oops" and shifts to something completely different.

She's ill prepared. So she's doing the easiest thing: a chronological narration of Jodi's journal and text messages.

Okay, so in the world according to Alyce, when Travis is saying, "I hate you. Stay away from me. You're lazy. You're sick and you're a sociopath...."

What he really means is, "You belong to me. You're so beautiful. I'm jealous of other men. I think you are just fantabulous!!"

Okay, Alyce doesn't just need A thesaurus, she needs a BRAND NEW thesaurus.

This just made me laugh. I think that is what it means....to crazy people.

The major problem I have with LaV is she does not seem to view the diaries and texts etc. of BOTH TA AND JA with an objective mind, open to identifying abusive behavior from BOth of them. She only evaluates TA's words and behaviors with a bias towards finding abuse and JA's with a bias towards finding victimhood. Hopefully this can be made clear in cross and then with JM's own expert in rebuttal.

Had a meeting, please someone tell me they got up to June 2008? I'm begging for the love of all that you hold holy, are we at least into June?

Would you like me to abuse you by telling you the truth or would you rather me abuse you by telling you a lie?

In May now but who knows she may go back to another day she fog got about that Alyce reminds her of while at recess.

Which is painfully boring while she fumbles her way trying to learn the right way to ask questions in order to avoid objections.

I have all the faith in the world in JM. But, I don't believe that he will be able to effectively cross the witness. JW will be screeching her objections non-stop and the "judge" will give in to her hysterics. All it takes is a little flirting from JW to melt the "judge" into submission. I feel terrible for Travis and his family but there is nothing that they can do. Jodi will walk just like CA did.

I understand what you mean but imo Juan will most assuredly be able to cross this biased witness effectively.

JW and KN has made continuous objections over and over again throughout with any witness Juan has crossed but no matter how many she makes he methodically goes on making his points. He seems to have amazing patience and is used to her objections by now.

She knows all she can do is delay the inevitable but even she knows he is going to dismantle this witness just like he has done with every defense witness they have called.

Out of all the defense witnesses called this one is one that reeks with blatant biases so Juan has a lot to work with. He needs to come out right at the start and take control of this witness who likes to talk way too much. He is not going to let her recite her novella or her droning on about generalities that have no relevance to this case.

IMO

There are always appeal. In fact, automatic appeals on death penalty cases. The problem for Jodi will be finding an attorney who wants to see that appeal through from beginning to end. They are costly. Nurmi won't want to do it. No money in it. So good luck with that Jodi.

What's the matter with that tiger?

Never mind. I googled.

Sad beyond words, I'm appalled, sickened and my heart aches for that tiger

Me too, but given the first 15 min's and then I think it was audio only for awhile..........something like that --- I will take what I can get! I have dvr set to record as I missed the opening statements - swearing I would not go down this long frustrating road again, but on day 2 I was all in! LOL@ME for even thinking I could 'just not watch'! :floorlaugh:

Now my new mantra is, after a victory I can retire from minute by minute coverage - sound believable? LOL

After re-watching the sequestration hearing, Nurmi calls out Jurors 1, 4, 6, 13, 17. He's going for a mistrial by removing enough jurors so that the number falls under 12?
My thought exactly.

Wilmott is so unskilled! She's not tying any of this together. Completely incoherent nonsense.
ALV is simply describing everyday crankiness as abuse. Sometimes the men are having a crankie day sometimes women have a crankie day. ALV is turning everyday emotions into abuse only toward Jodi and discounting anything that may put him in a bad mood that Jodi could have said. That ain't worth 300.00 an hr to hear. Sometimes people will be crabby a whole weekend or week what is ALV saying for goodness sake.
