Please, who is DD? Too many DDs now. Drew and DeMarte (sp?) Never mind. Duh. Not a member, obviously.

In this instance, my darling daughter. :)

Good Morning, Sleuthers! I can smell something burning this morning. Must be pencil shavings and what's left of the defense team's credibility! :seeya:

Good morning Sleuth! I am excited that the hearing this morning might be televised. Unfortunately I'm at work, but with the help of you fine WSers, I will be able to get updates until I can watch it later tonight on Youtube.

What do you think the hearing will be about?

Do the mods here have this ability? :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

No but this jury does. (fingers crossed)

I did not see one tear. but apparently, her tears comes from her nose.:floorlaugh:

I wish the media would stop reporting JA cried when she saw the pic of her and TA yesterday. There were no tears, just a fake show!

I respectfully disagree. Talking about intelligence (IQ) versus morals and ethics are entirely different things.
A score in any area of 136 by a proctored standardized and approved IQ test would enable her to gain entry into MENSA.
I'm not saying I like JA but she is bright. Just bright enough to get her in trouble.

Perhaps MENSA should reconsider their entry procedures.

If morals and ethics were part of this test - she would have an IQ of 2 possibly. Sorry, we'll just have to disagree as I simply do not see planning a murder, stealing a gun, using the gun and slaughtering a man, inventing wild unbelievable stories with all her big words as MENSA material by any measure.

RBBM

The BPD Jodi knows the difference between right and wrong too though. I firmly believe Jodi's a psychopath, even if she's a borderline psychopath - which is possibly a newer subtype of female psychopathy still being researched.

I don't want to go down a rabbit hole but there's been a lot of debate over antisocial vs. psychopathy the last couple of decades. Many clinicians feel they're the same (and they were meant to be) but psychopathic researchers have often expressed that the DSM criteria for antisocial was too rigid and many people who could be considered antisocial/psychopathic can't meet the exacting standards. Some though, feel psychopathy and antisocial are wholly separate and deserve their own categorization. (I'm one of those.)

Everything changes next month. Antisocial and psychopathic are being combined in the DSM and the necessary criteria of evidence of Conduct Disorder before the age of 15 is being dropped. The result will be that tons of people will now fit the criteria who never did before - which should lead to more accurate diagnoses, instead of Borderline, which is often a 'fallback' diagnosis because criteria is less stringent.

Jodi's prolific lying? That's an antisocial trait much more than a borderline one - but Jodi couldn't have been diagnosed antisocial, even if she is, because her history didn't support the rigid criteria.

Borderline's easy for the jury to understand and it strongly supports the State's contention. Borderline does nothing to absolve her of any responsibility and everything to show a pattern of manipulation. I think DeMarte and Martinez made the right call on this one.

JMO

Thanks, Britskate!

Interesting information on the modifications on criteria regarding diagnoses in the soon to be released DSM!

What do you think the hearing will be about?

I'm actually free for most of the day, but unforunately, I have a meeting at 3:00, so I will probably miss most of the testimony today considering I'll have to go to campus. I am done speculating on what is going on. :scared: It has driven me crazy for too long. At this point, I am just going to go with the flow and see what happens. :seeya:

I wonder if they have surveillance video of Arias at an ATM withdrawing money from Travis's account or something. Interesting to see the bank person on the list.

If so, wonder what hair color she had at the time? Since the DT entered into evidence the picture of her and her sister taken in May with JA with brown hair, I would think this evidence would be allowed as part of a rebutal if it shows her with blonde hair June 3-4. That would show that she dyed her hair during her road trip from CA to AZ. Hope that is the case.

Wonder if banks keep records for that long?

I think Ryan packed on some pounds, but not morbidly obese. But, yes. I see exactly what you are saying, Jodi looked like she wanted to stand up and scream that he gotten so much heavier, "don't even think I'd let him put his hands on me". He's really a nice looking guy though.
Probably stress eating from knowing he had a killer crawling all over him and she used him as an alibi. Some people drink, just sayin'.
I didn't consider Ryan Burns morbidly obese either (using the eyeball test only, according to the medical definition he may be). I remember her performance in court when he was on the stand and when she testified, but honestly, I'm not sure it would have mattered all that much to Jodi in "real life" as long as she could get from him what she wanted. I saw pictures of Travis on her MySpace page and at one time he was heavier/less in shape then he was at the time she murdered him. He even made a comment about his weight on the photo. I don't think "perfect physical specimen" was at the top of Jodi's wish list. JMO.

Just the stress of getting called to testify and have to wait years to do so has to be stressful. I would be eating mom''s mac and cheese everyday. Lol :)

UGH - can't wait till she is convicted so they can stop this....

Jodi sure thinks a lot of herself. Just when you think someone might feel a bit sorry for her, this web page ([link removed]) comes along and you realize...Nope. She sunk herself a long time ago.

Jodi really thinks they will convict her on manslaughter? No wonder Wilma was so desperate to say to Dr. Horn that Jodi reached over Travis' shoulder to stab in the back of the head and the middle back. And how shallow those wounds were. Was the slit throat a mercy killing? according to the defense and Jodi? I think Dr. Horn was so stunned by Wilma's suggestions and her repeated questions of this, among other dumb ones...that is the reason Juan needs Dr. Horn back on the stand and defense is fighting it.

For those interested in the WAIS today, here's a range chart that categorizes scores:

Source: http://faculty.pepperdine.edu/shimels/Courses/Files/Class Ratings.pdf

JA is in the High Average at 119. There are 2 categories above that, Superior and Very Superior. Very Superior are the ones that qualify for Mensa and other elite intelligence societies (some require a higher IQ than Mensa's minimum).

:seeya: Good Morning Y'All !

I am catching up from yesterday afternoon's sessions that I missed ...

And OMG ... :furious: Nurmi was totally and completely out of line with Deanna !

I think Deanna did a great job, considering how RUDE and CRUDE Nurmi was to her !

 Jodi's behavior was as "bizarre" as usual ... did you see her use the "golf pencil" as an "eyebrow liner"

:floorlaugh: Oh well, if we ever "get in a jam" and don't have an "eyebrow pencil" handy, it's good to know that a "golf pencil" will work ... LOL !

Back to catching up !

:drumroll:

For my part, I'm pleased to announce that I have never been there and shall never go.

I posted Mensa membership requirements upthread. With an average IQ of 119, Jodi does not qualify for Mensa. She would need an overall IQ score of 130 on the test that Dr. DeMarte administered to qualify. A high score on one element of the test does not quality one for Mensa.

Jodi has no conscience, no ethics, no morals. Doesn't matter how smart she thinks she is.

Skew: Mathematics. Neither parallel nor intersecting. Used of straight lines in space.

So the straight up and down lines would be skew or bar code. She was not 100% incorrect. I suppose the SKU is the actual number. The straight lines would be skew or what we call bar codes that they scan off the item at the register.

Skew: neither parallel nor at right angles to a specified or implied line; askew; crooked:
