I saw this on an Apple forum – anyone know whether websites also would be restored?

"This is quite easy. First, connect your old iPad to your computer and open up iTunes. After it syncs, click on where it says <Your name's> iPad, go to Info and there should be Check for Update and Backup. Click on the "Backup" button. When its done, you can disconnect it. Now connect your new iPad, when it runs the startup, select "Restore from Backup". Let it run, and there you go! All your old things on a brand new iPad."

I am 90% certain that the instructions are for when you buy a newer iPad and want to make it have all of the information your old iPad has.

1) sync old one with your computer means create a copy of your old iPad on your computer
2) plug in your new iPad to your computer and sync al if the data from the old iPad that is stored there to the new iPad
3) now both your old iPad and your new iPad have exactly the same data so you can use the new one but not have to start building and collecting all of your stuff all over again

Most people will be open to listening to defence evidence in the interest of justice but couldn't say specifically what would change my mind until I heard it.
I lean towards guilty at the moment but would not rule out a change of mind if further evidence presented pointed to innocence .

IMO the defense has a hard uphill battle on their hands. The state has proven so many things so far that will be hard to overcome. As I have said before, OP is going to have to testify if he wants even a prayer of a chance of not being found guilty of the more serious charge.

Let's hope that is the case because it sure seems wrong to me that someone can be shot at 4 times and killed whilst posing no threat locked behind a door .

The iPad and iPhone testimony will be enlightening to us all whatever it reveals .
I know iPads can sync with other devices because sometimes my hubby tells me not to bring my iPad close when he is doing things on his iPhone and I once ended up with a lot of my daughters photo's on my iPad without doing anything at all lol think that had something to do with I tunes sync . Will ask hubby for more info as he is in IT but out at the moment .

Thanks for that. Excellent article and I think he's pretty much spot on with his opinion.
You're welcome. With regard to the iPad/iPhone question, yes the devices can be synched very easily. iPad to iPhone, and also iPad 3 to iPad 2 (as both units were in OP's house). This can be done over wi-fi or by using what is referred to as 'the cloud'. I'm sure there would be traceable information for data synched or deleted this way. He probably did this with his iPads as it was mentioned both contained the same bookmarks/favourites.

It must be very easy if I did it accidentally lol
Do you think the dongle which was in OP's safe should have been allowed to leave the scene . We have no idea what could have been on it and their keenness to retrieve it seems very fishy to me . I was very surprised it was allowed.

the gorgeous Captain Mungeena qualified the order of shots fires as this.

1st shot. ( she is standing up facing the gun with a door between her and the weapon.. this shatters and completely breaks her hip bone, she slumps down and back onto the magazine rack . )

2nd shot. (as she slumps down her head falls forward, and this 2nd shot is the head shot.. )

3rd shot.. and 4th shot. one of these shots misses her, but richochets around hitting the tiles, fragmenting and bruising her chest and back , some fragment falls to the floor. She is now expelled forward by the head shot and comes to stasis with her head on the toilet basin.

the 4th or 3rd shot hits her arm , elbow.. she has flung her arm up and back.

the 3rd and 4th shot can be reversible in order of sequence, but not the 1st and 2nd. they are as it is .

That's not quite right. Mangena's evidence was:

1st shot - hits RS in the hip
2nd shot - misses
3rd/4th shots - he can't say which came first but one hit her on the right arm and one was the head shot.

His main point was there had to be a pause between the first and the third/fourth shots because RS moved from standing behind the door to slumped on the mag rack with her arms up in a defensive position shielding her head.

Roux brought up the double tap argument, but Mangena dismissed it. I thought Roux looked deflated during Mangena's testimony - possibly because he was such good witness and Roux had nothing decent to refute his 'pause' testimony.

On the double tap point - I did firearms training years ago and became relatively proficient at double taps. But there's no way I would describe myself as a 'professional'. It's not really too difficult to master. However, I think that's pretty irrelevant as the ballistics evidence rules out any double taps, other than possibly for the 3rd/4th shots.

Sleuth question: Other than Reeva's mother, what have Oscar's and Reeva's friends said about their relationship? I'm not talking about rumors and gossip, but actual documented comments from their actual friends.

I would really like to get a better feel for the relationship, how close they were, etc, etc

TIA

Respectfully, I was quoting the law in SA - and if it is reasonably possibly true that Oscar heard a sound and believed it was an intruder who was about to attack him, it's not murder but culpable homicide.

The law is hazy imo, his fairyland story could still on it's own be considered murder.

I'll agree the law is hazy and it has been applied differently in different cases in SA. So, at this point all I can say is anything's possible! :drumroll:

I am so glad these bullets are illegal now.

They're now discontinued, however they've received more modern replacements which are widely available called Federal HST and Speer GD. From the comments of people in the firearms world they're the same as Black Talon, but better. I'm not sure I really want to know what constitutes 'better' after hearing the extent of Reeva's injuries.

Question to anyone who has their mind made up on OP's Guilt of 'intentional murder'. Is there anything the defence or prosecution could bring in that would change your mind?

Only the ghost of Reeva on the stand saying Oscar is telling the truth.

I personally don't suspect that anything related to the murder was on it, but you just never know.

To me the panic to get it and all of the trouble they went through to get it just goes to show how deeply affected the Pistorius family was upon learning of the horrible accident that took the life of Reeva, whom they all loved dearly, and it was only an hour or so earlier that morning. Priorities: $$$

Can anyone please tell me definitively whether Oscar was sleeping on the side of the bed closest to the bathroom or the far side? I get so confused when people say "left side" or "right side" because I don't know if they're talking about the perspective from looking at the bed or from being in the bed.

I think he normally sleeps on the right close to the balcony doors but was alleged sleeping on the left (closest to the bathroom ) because of a shoulder injury ? It is the left side of the bed where Reeva's sandals were I think .
Please correct me if wrong .

No, it's not, it's the law just as you understood it. There was a reference posted here to one case were a man supposedly shot an unarmed man in the back and was supposedly not charged. But that is not what the facts are regarding the case, it was just a creative take on case.

Don't worry, the law applies to OP just as you understood it. We can chat about it more if you like.

The judge will be aware that this case is being watched by the world and that the S.A. justice system is also on trial here. she will want to be seen to give a clear message that being white and wealthy does not mean that you are above the law....

Good point .
I still don't think it should have been removed from the scene .
I wondered if it might have had info on from the previous assault case that was settled . Clearly he wouldn't want info about that coming out . Must have been something he needed to hide on it IMO .
The desperate need for a watch also seems very fishy As well as the theft of one Supposedly all professional staff were searched and nothing was found .
I think in the UK all technology items would be seized or at least have to be left at the scene .

Since there is a lull in the trial, I'm de-lurking to ask a quick question: Is it true that Oscar claims that he shouted "Get out of my house!" ? If so, how could the intruder possibly do this since the toilet area window was too small? Why did he not say "Open the door and come out with your hands up"?

If after yelling, "Get out of my house," the "intruder" had started opening the door, would Oscar not have shot? After all, Oscar would not know if the intruder had a weapon. Why did he then go directly in front of the door and fire, unless he felt fairly sure the intruder was unarmed. If he believed the intruder was unarmed, he would not have been in fear for his life. If he believed the intruder was armed, he would not have shouted "Get out of my house," and then gone to stand directly in front of the door, unless he felt suicidal.

Maybe he actually yelled this at Reeva? And she refused?

IMO...yes,,,this is where OP has to remember things other witnesses may have heard to incorporate them into his story

You're spot on regarding the USB stick, I can't imagine that they've let anybody remove this from a crime scene. It could be that it was examined, or confiscated, as not much has been said after hearing of it's removal.

Many objects which have potential evidence are found to be of no use, and even if an object is mentioned in a witness statement, the defense or prosecution won't usually mention it again unless it adds value to their case.

This can be frustrating for us on the forum, as we may have a hunch about something and it never gets mentioned. It would be nice if either Nel or Roux would say 'oh by the way, we've tested xyz and there was nothing in it'. Then again, I wouldn't want them wasting court time if they were representing me - not on their fees anyhow lol.

OP's ridiculous claim that he screams like a girl and that's what neighbors heard shows the importance of RS's screams to his case. Roux needs to prove that RS never screamed, because OP's first shot hit her in the head Or that the noise from the 4 shots, fired without a pause, prevented OP from hearing her screams. No can do imo.
