Shouldn't throw you.

Afrikaans is Dutch-daughter language.
And Dutch is somewhat similar to German, which you call Deutsche, Ja?

Lol, Genaue. But nobody seems to have the six-feet long words we have here (or that's what they seem like to me).

I wouldn't be surprised either. I seem to recall he wanted permission to talk to all the neighbours before the trial, but permission was denied. I imagine he wanted to 'persuade' them that they didn't hear what they think they heard, or warn them off. Since when does a murder suspect get to talk to potential witnesses anyway?

I think the 2 most damning things for him today were the facts that he'd thought he'd heard an intruder on other occasions - but had woken Samantha up first to see if she'd heard anything, a reaction the majority of us on here have always claimed would be the most instinctive thing to do - check where your partner is before opening fire. And of course Pieter Baba's statement that OP had told him everything was fine (after he'd just shot and killed his g/friend). Why Roux would insist on knowing if the word he used was 'fine' or' okay is anyone's guess. Both words pretty much mean the same thing. Whichever word he used doesn't detract from the fact he told the security guard that basically nothing was wrong.

Was he planning to take Reeva to his or her car and dump her somewhere? I remember reading that one of the doors on their car was open (can't remember whose). So after taking her downstairs, was his next step to dump the body but he was interrupted by Dr Stipp?

BBM

Is that how his name is spelled? If so, I've been spelling it wrong all night lol. WAT spelled it Barber in a tweet, so I just went with that.

TY for reminding me about the car in the driveway with the door open! I'd forgotten about that! I also remember reading something about the engine running, as well.

Of course, OP would claim he was taking her to the car to transport her to the hospital, since he said he was instructed to by Netcare.

You would probably be amused by a related matter regarding the Amish people in the USA.

Do you know of them and this connection?

I think so. I got it from The Guardian.

And we’re back.
Witness and Silverwoods security guard Pieter Baba, who was on duty the night of the murder, is called to the witness box.

Oh yes! The engine was supposedly running too. Was OP expecting a quick getaway or something?

Yes but now I think that all further actions, calls, etc will be judged by their relation to what may soon be (in)famous words worldwide!

"Everything is fine."

So how long after OP uttered those words did he make any other calls will be the relevant parameter.

Just exactly when did OP say "Everything is fine."

Was it 3:17 or what?

It's really odd that anyone would suggest someone with such serious injuries should be moved at all, let alone lifted, lugged downstairs and then dumped in a car. Is the Netcare advice on record? Not 'on record' as stated by OP, but officially on record? And why would they think it was quicker for him to take her rather than an ambulance coming to the property?

I am gleaning from trial updates (thank you, trial followers!), that OP & Co. very first inclinations and actions were to protect him from bad publicity, at all costs.

Our fellow SA member, Carol70, said it's common practice for folks to take themselves or their loved ones to the hospital, rather than wait for an ambulance because the ambulance response time can be long.

Even knowing that, I'm still stunned that if Netcare had been informed of the gravity of Reeva's injuries, that OP would have still been instructed to transport her himself.

I wonder if he told them how serious the situation was, or did he downplay it?

After all, he told Pieter Baba that "everything is fine", when everything was clearly NOT fine.

I've asked that too and haven't got an answer, but it's something I'm curious about because I think he'd be a liability!

According to documents submitted by the defense to the prosecution and the court, he will testify. It will be interesting but they are allowed to change their mind in future should the defense think that will be in the best interest of their client.

Think on this:

Oscar was seen doing CPR (mouth to mouth) by various people who arrived circa 3:20. (We have more witnessses to come.)

This was done at or near the foot of the stairs. Some reports I believe said he was doing mouth to mouth while carrying her down the stairs. But you certainly can't do [proper] chest compressions while carrying someone down the stairs.

Seems like if you understand the need to do CPR on a dying person, the place and time to do it is immediatey and right where she is lying. And you can do proper chest compressions while someone is on the floor, not while carrrying her down stairs.

Was it a Richard Gere type of CPR? [Internal Affairs] Was Reeva's last dying act--as per Dr.Stipp--grabbing OP and such her trying to prevent her killer's actions? Or was it a type of reflex action after she had lost all higher functioning?

Let me add my thanks to all the members who are doing such a superb job of covering this trial for those of us who can't watch. Your comments are so insightful and you're really bringing the trial to life.

BBM - yes, just like when the gun went off in the restaurant and OP didn't want to be bothered with it in case they 'were all over him' due to his... fame.

Then there was the free for all for the lawyer and family to get their mitts on the safe contents as poor RS 's bloodied body was lying at the bottom of the stairs. Disgusting !!!

Tearful Ex-Girlfriend Samantha Taylor Recalls Two-Timing Bladerunner

She said Pistorius "would scream out of anger," but not when he was scared. She said he had screamed on "more than one occasion, at me, my sister, my best friend, his best friend."

Tayor was questioned about an incident when a bullet was fired through the sunroof of a vehicle while she and Pistorius were inside. She said Pistorius was "laughing" about it.

Thanks canny. I suspect he will change his mind, unless he's confident that he can put forward a reasonable explanation for killing Reeva, and explain why he told the security guard everything was 'fine' after he'd just shot dead the 'love of his life', or explain why he was able to alert Samantha Taylor to a potential intruder (and managed not to shoot her dead) while not being capable of alerting Reeva in the same situation, and did shoot her dead, while not once bothering to find out where she was. Lots of holes to fill.

Thanks for all the updates here...I am a day behind so watching day 5. I find the video from sabcdigitalnews very high quality compared to some I have watched and clearly marked for watching...just in case someone is looking to watch.
Question: do homes of this caliber in SA not have air conditioning??? Why was he fooling around with fans on the balcony in the middle of the night? Also why are the sleeping with open windows with the crime situation? Just practical things that I don't understand.

Could any attorney be more unlikeable than Roux...what an awful guy. Probably doing a good job considering his client and situation. This is going very very slow...one month and half at least with this pace.

He could always cry and wail and be so overcome with emotion that he will be unable to respond to questioning. The front page headlines will continue to be all about the terrible suffering of poor OP just as they have been up until now!
