Rafferty was no bystander in death of Tori Stafford, Crown tells jury in closing

Rafferty's lawyer suggested in his closing arguments Monday that McClintic, a violent, troubled young woman, planned to kidnap and murder Tori and Rafferty had no idea.

But Gowdey says that's unrealistic and these aren't the actions of a homicidal woman acting alone, with Rafferty blindly chauffeuring McClintic and Tori to a rural area.

Gowdey says there's no evidence Tori knew McClintic, as Rafferty's defence has suggested, and says McClintic likely found it easy to manipulate the girl — just as Rafferty found it easy to manipulate McClintic.

The implication, as I understand it, is that TLM is lying when she says she was in a blind rage and killed Tori - that in actually, it was MR that killed Tori - not that TLM was calm.

I am so unbelievably thankful Derstine had one witness (who really proved NOTHING IMO) and gave up his right to having the last say in this trial!!!! Thank you Mr. Dirk Dirstine.

As I mentioned yesterday, maybe Derstine knew he didn't have a case, so he deliberately made it so his summation would be first. If he were giving it last, I could see the jury rolling their eyes.

Rafferty, McClintic worked together in Stafford killing, trial hears


Mr. Gowdey rejected that. Whether Mr. Rafferty was the main party to the murder, or aided and abetted it, he remains guilty, he said.

Mr. Gowdey concurred that Ms. McClintic took a major role in the dreadful events.

“By harnessing the rage she carried with her as a result of he broken life, she was the violent pawn Michael Rafferty used,” he said.

“But even if you accept that Terri-Lynne McClintic was the one with the hammer, it doesn’t matter.”

No she isn't. Not legally. She plead guilty. She didn't plead not guilty. She wasn't found NCR. Unless you mean, colloquially, that she is a crazy ^*&.

Indeed, much she says is worth listening to. And, if you can't stomach her personally, listen to the other evidence: it is saying many of the same things.

She was arrested because she breached the probation order which was part of her sentence for stabbing a man.

She is in prison because she was seen on the CASS video abducting TS.

The neighbors identified her. TS informed the police about her.

She could confess or go to trial.

So she tried to make a deal...........and took whatever she managed to get.
