Per the post that Lera put up showing the cone path, I am in southEAST Florida and we are having very strong wind gusts and heavy rain non-stop since 1pm which is almost 5-6 hours of this. Bear in mind, I am NOT in the area of the cone which speaks volumes for the size of this storm. I drained my pool down 4" at noon and it is now almost overspilling.
Myself, if you are in the area of where the cone takes on land (once it passes over the Gulf of Mexico) I would find a way to evacuate now. Easy to navigate sooner than later when the infrastructures become congested. Before you leave, remove any patio furniture, weak branches, lawn tools/ornaments, garbage barrels, etc.

Now the winds just blew out all of my new screens that had been installed in my screened-in porch....ugh! I am surprised we still have power.
