Lilke father, like son:

Larry Peterson says Adrian Peterson's parents were told their son needed medication for attention deficit disorder when Adrian was in elementary school. Nelson Peterson objected, according to Larry Peterson, who told USA TODAY SPORTS that his brother said, "It's not something that a little whipping can't take care of."

Apparently, that was not enough and if you notice, most tv programs have chosen to not show the photos!!!

Maybe hearing the child screaming and seeing the terror on his little face ...people could feel some compassion and empathy?

Snipped for focus. The child did not cry or scream. Peterson said he wished the child had cried so he would know how much he was hurting him. But he boasted that the child was "tough as nails."

The police report also includes text messages between Peterson and the boy’s mother. First he texted to her: “You will be mad at me about his leg.” Later, he texted: “He got about five more pops than normal. He didn’t drop one tear! … He’s tough as nails.”

I was so riled up about this last night i started to find out more about this loving father OF 7.Seeing the new allegations at first i was shocked but upon contemplation why am i surprised? Surely he gives all his children lots of "love" and we will hear more soon. I especially liked his idea that this other 4 year old would have not been hurt so bad if he had just sat still and taken his punishment- i mean "love". I guess according to him and his supporters all the criminals out there are the fault of the parents who did not "love"their children enough to keep them from a life of crime. What bad parents those of us are to have not beaten our children to keep them in line. How proud he is of his belief that this is the right way to show your child love. How would his teammates feel to have their child return from visiting other parent returned in this condition? How would anyone think this is ok?

I hope that "he didn't shed a tear" is not true. If true, it's likely the child lapsed into a disassociated state. Truly, an out of body experience because it was so traumatic.

This abuser is as ignorant as they come and should NEVER have unsupervised contact with another child until he gets a friggin clue!

Or.. the poor kid has been 'whupped' like that more than a few times and he's built up a tolerance to it, or he knows that crying and carrying on will just make it last longer.

Stumbled across the 'why' of the beating here.

Peterson’s son had pushed another one of Peterson’s children off of a motorbike video game. As punishment, Peterson grabbed a tree branch

Punishment did NOT fit the 'crime'!

What makes it okay is that 19 states allow it, including Texas. Here's a "handy dandy" map:
http://www.businessinsider.com/19-states-still-allow-corporal-punishment-2014-3

If that's not enough reason, try this:
"Corporal punishment is lawful in the home in all states. State laws confirm the right of parents to inflict physical punishment on their children and legal provisions against violence and abuse are not interpreted as prohibiting all corporal punishment in childrearing. In Minnesota, examination of several laws led some legal experts to conclude that corporal punishment is not permitted in that state, but according to the legislation a parent, legal guardian or caretaker may use reasonable force to restrain or correct a child (Sec. 609.379. [Cr.]) and the Minnesota Court of Appeal has overturned convictions for physical abuse involving corporal punishment."

I don't know of any state that allows 4 yos to be beaten until the skin is split and bleeding.

Yep.

The poor kid actually got two whoopings during this visit to his Daddy Peterson:

"Peterson also admitted that he administered two different “whoopings” to his son during the visit to Texas, the other being a punishment for the 4-year-old scratching the face of a 5-year-old."

http://houston.cbslocal.com/2014/09/12/exclusive-details-on-adrian-peterson-indictment-charges/

It's pretty clear from Peterson's own words that the children are expected to shut up and take it:

A text from Peterson to the woman reportedly said, "Be still n take ya whooping he would have saved the scare (scar). He aight (all right)."

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sns-r...0newsml-sx4dca-20140915-sxc-story.html#page=1

Of course, this child was apparently strapped into his carseat while he was getting whooped. Not much choice but to take it.

Mother: "What happened to his head?"

Peterson: "Hit his head on the Carseat." [sic]

Mother: "How does that happen, he got a whoopin' in the car."

Peterson: "Yep."

Mother: "Why?"

Peterson: "I felt so bad. But he did it his self."

Checking google news for the most recent news stories, I am greatly encouraged that opinion seems to be running against the Vikings for reinstating him.

"Peterson also expressed regret that his son did not cry – because then, Peterson said, he would have known that the switch was doing more damage than intended."

I can't even begin to say how very pissed off I am about this. Why the hell didn't the mother take this to police? Was that paycheck so powerful that she did not protect her child? Why does it seem he was gloating about the damage he did to a defenseless 4 yo?

Pitiful excuse for a mother.

You can only hope that New Orleans team beats the living hell out of him. Beat him into the ground.

This is an excellent point:

As such, it would be terribly naïve and shortsighted to assume this was an isolated incident. Peterson has a reported six young children – one passed away last year at the hands of an abusive boyfriend of the mother.

So why would he have only employed his system of discipline, the kind that got him charged last week with "reckless or negligent injury to a child" in Montgomery (Texas) County, on that one boy, that one time? Not to mention, experts will tell you, the level of injury his one son sustained does not suggest this was the first time he laid hands – or stick – on the kid.

I've got to take a break from this case. I don't know what bothers me more; this 🤬🤬🤬 who delights in injuring his children or the "groupies" who refuse to even consider that their hero abuses his children. If they ignore it, then it didn't happen and they can feel goody when they watch him play. If you will notice there are hardly any posts about this vicious crime, that tells me how many posters are football fans. Very sad.

If indeed he does play on Sunday, you know what I'd like to see? Everyone in the stadium armed with "switches," shaking them in the air every time he takes the field.

I can dream.
