Tire slashing incident was a while ago. I very much doubt he could think that much in advance. I am also not sure why he'd need to slash tires to get access to the child. From what neighbor's say she was frequently walking in the neighborhood looking for someone to play with.

That was going to be one of my questions. Do we know how long ago it was? I'm thinking it was some time ago. Not recently. Perhaps months ago, but I'm inferring that based on the context of the way the family told the story.

Just a thought from last night when I couldn't sleep..I'm local and this is way too close to home.

In the beautiful video on WFAA where Alanna is singing Soft Kitty, the reporter said it was a neighbors cell phone video of her. She was sitting on a trampoline.

Did I see a trampoline in TH's back yard in a picture someone posted yesterday?

Really hoping that was someone else's yard...

That video was taken by a female teen. Not in TH's backyard.

If you look at google maps, there are a lot of trampolines around there. It seems to have been a kid-friendly neighborhood aside from TH. :(

Blessings on you and your daughter. Our 23 year old son was diagnosed in January with stage 4 stomach cancer. I completely understand the "what did I do wrong that caused this" feeling. And you're right--there's nothing.

(((((HUGS))))))
So sorry you and your family are going thru this!

Took me a while to get to the end.

I believe that TH did have an accomplice, and that accomplice is the one who dumped the body.

Why?

In the BOLO for the 2 black cars that were lingering (Passed by 1st camera and took X amount of hours before being seen by the second camera), neither car was shown to have a passenger. LE would have photos from both surveillance camera, and it could be shown that TH would have been a passenger.

In the photos of LE at TH's house, his grass really was in need of mowing.
I think the car or cars never went by the second camera, like they would if they were passing through the neighborhood.
Think about it. If one of these cars just passed one camera coming and going several times that day and LE has those times, never passed the second camera, was not driving "through" the neighborhood they were stopping somewhere.

If it never went by the second camera, wouldn't it mean it's still there? Where would it go?

Midwestmama,

I am so sorry to hear that, my thoughts & prayers are w/ you all. I can't imagine. I'm sure you already know what the risk factors are and average age for this diagnosis.......so at 23, no there is nothing you did to cause this.

Hugs....

Blessings on you and your son as well. I always think of that line from the film Parenthood, "There is no end zone. You never cross the goal line, spike the ball and do your touchdown dance. Never."

Which car? Why are there two cars? If one car isn't related, what makes anybody think the other is? How can anyone see there is no passenger?

I am sure that LE has some sort of time frame. They review the video from both locations on the street. They can see that there are 2 vehicles that are not "native" to that street. Both vehicles stayed and just didn't pass thru. They are following up on the video's that TH's car didn't move, and there is no video of him with his motorized bicycle/wheelbarrow/wagon etc. There was some sort of transport mechanism within the specific time frame. Do you think that there was a passenger?

Anyone else notice that his YouTube screen name appears to be a play off his mom's screen name? I don't know that it means anything; just thought it was interesting......

If there were two cars, does it mean there are two accomplices? Maybe the two cars were visiting someone else on that street.

I think the lingering could be defined as this. Vehicle A passed by camera #1 at the north end of the street at X:XX and did not pass camera #2 at the south end of the street until X amount of hours later. That would say that this vehicle stopped some where on the street and lingered.

Yes, we've found out it's a gene mutation. He's responding extremely well to chemo treatment at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, where they are also exploring the possibility of gene therapy in his case. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone.

Possible. Dunno. When LE made their rounds interviewing the locals, we do not know if they showed the photos to them and said, "Do you recognize these cars?"

If you have a chance, go back and watch the video of Alanna's father describing this incident.

It doesn't seem that the slashing of the tires has anything to do with gaining
access to the child.

(If you wanted to elaborate further on that I would be grateful).

Vandalism like that is usually anger driven.

(Don't ask for a link this information comes from my real life).

Often times it's just teenagers fueled by hormones, drugs and alcohol with too much time on their hands and they creep around some neighborhood and slash tires.

But regardless of the age, slashing tires is a high percentage of just anger. (It's also a sign of someone who has a yellow stripe down their back. A COWARD attacks behind your back instead of confronting you).

When I watched the video about the tires I had to sit back and ask myself, so exactly what was it that TH was so dang angry at? Well, we don't know. Only TH knows.

The ACTION is what tells us the emotion but it does not tell us the intent.

Only the perpetrator can tell us the intent and we may never really know because they most likely will lie about it.

We could sit here all day and into tomorrow and guess at what made TH so angry. It would still all be just guessing.

I'll spare you the lengthy, emotional story but here's what I know about bullies:

Bullies have an excellent sense of pecking order and body language despite often not being that outwardly intelligent. Perhaps BECAUSE they often aren't intelligent they have developed and honed this other sense.

Because of the bully's sensitivity to pecking order, he/she can EASILY pick out nearly instantly who is a target.

Here's an example:

TH came to the Gallagher's door, (who are kind and introverted people) and told them they had a flat or low tire. (It's obvious by this action that TH already had interacted with at least one of them so he felt he had the upper hand here in terrorizing them). He did NOT fear repercussions.

The Gallagher fellow then was quite passive about the whole event and even after TH hung around and stared at him, Gallagher just called the cops back and had Tyler speak with them on the phone during which time it came out that TH did actually slash the tires.

THIS WHOLE EVENT just reinforces with the bully that he can get away with this.

Here's an alternative example:

I have very close relatives that shall remain nameless and I can tell you without even blinking my eyes that if this fat punk @$$ SOB came over into our yard like that he'd have a nice flight home.

Bullies ONLY understand a greater power/threat than they present.

I'm trying to find a link to one of the first news stories about Tyler I know they've been linked in this thread. If someone has it handy, I want to add it to his entry on the "Who's Who."

The one where they visited his home for 30 minutes and left with the brown paper evidence bag, and he told the press that they didn't take anything. When I try searching for the news stories now, all I get are hits for the newer stories about the arrest warrant.

TIA!

I don't know that he would find it objectionable. Maybe there *is* jealousy involved, but jealousy that he wasn't included in the polyamory. Wonder if he ever tried to suggest that to KG, LG, or MM?

I don't think it had anything to do with the families relationship. He was a menace to the neighborhood in general. I think the Gallagher's were just unfortunate to live 2 doors away from him and when he saw Alana that day right next to his house it was a crime of opportunity. Who knows what sick things or sick thoughts he was doing/having at that time. He's is a sexual deviant. She is small and he had power and control over her. I think he would have preyed on another child had she not been around. I think the non traditional relationship is completely irrelevant. IMO

He poured water on a snowman another child made and pulled a knife. He walked by a house with a metal pipe when confronted for something he did. I'm sure there are many stories we have yet to hear. He didn't target this family for their lifestyle. He targeted anyone that walked in his path.

It scares me that there are many other juveniles/young people out there that have the same characteristics he has.

Maybe they know these cars were seen at or near TH moms home that day. They lingered in the neighborhood because the video cameras tell that part of the story.
It doesn't take two cars to place AG's body where she was found, but we just don't know if there were one or more others there with TH when he did the crime or even after. We don't know if there was more than TH that participated but I suspect there very well could have been. Can't tell you the times my mom said birds of a feather flock together. Well the same goes for slime balls like him. I'm just wondering if he is connected in some weird group on the internet, or met others like him somehow on there. Not sure how that would all play out though without him knowing what time AG would be out alone playing that day. Still I wonder.

Very well said.

yes yes yes yes yes.

This is exactly what I was trying to say, but didn't say it as well. He targeted them because they appeared "weak" i.e. they were kind and didn't want to press charges, they didn't want to be "mean."

That's why I wonder if they pressed charges about the flat tires, my hunch is that they didn't. I think they didn't because they thought it would provoke him, when perhaps the opposite is true, or perhaps it wouldn't have mattered HOW they responded. He was a bully, and he sniffed out passive people.

That doesn't mean that Alanna's murder was targeted at the family because they were passive. I imagine that was 99% opportunity. But he's the kind of guy who kicks puppies because he's bigger than they are.

Same deal as my lunch tray analogy.

He's a bully. He's angry, and we can't and won't ever understand, because we aren't like that. We aren't angry with the world…

Thank you IBSleuthin great post.
