Anthony’s stepmother, Kala Hayes, told The Post Saturday that the family had hired a PR team but declined to comment further.

The thing is, there has to be sufficient evidence for the "bullying/self-defense" defense, particularly proving the Anthony truly feared for his life to justify the use of DEADLY force. So far, the likely truth is NOT the false info being spread that Anthony was jumped and had his phone smashed, but that Austin asked him to leave and may have touched or pushed him after Anthony said "touch me and see what happens." That does not justify KILLING someone. My thought is that LE and prosecutors know there is zero evidence of Anthony being attacked, so absolutely will not accept a plea. Anthony better enjoy that sympathy and gifts he's getting for being a murdered while he can, because I see 25 to life in his very near future.

Completely agree. This whole story has really shown to me how people truly don’t know what self defense is and when you’re allowed to take deadly action. On the ground with a handgun pointed at your face? Yes. Getting “grabbed”? No. Karmelo was touched on the shoulder so he decided to stab someone in the heart? NOPE. moo

If they are paying rent of $3,500 a month for that house, then I think there is someone or an entity that is providing the family with additonal financial support beyond the GSG crowdfunding account. There may be a donor who wants to support the family beyond what they are comfortable giving on GSG for various reasons (identification and they prefer to remain anonymous, taxes, etc.). I think this is likely, including the money for a new vehicle, if it turns out to be true that the family has acquired a new vehicle. Right now we just have a neighbor's speculatlion that they have a new car.

Really? I was irked before regarding the financial aspects of this story. Now I’m disgusted and outraged. Profiteering in front of God and everyone, no shame in the Anthony family game. Evidently they are entitled to this and more if the donations keep rolling in.

Also, if someone else is paying their rent - even beyond crowdsourcing donations - in this gated community due to safety concerns, they may have wanted to stay close to the school as it has been mentioned in articles that there are two other children in the family and that KA is the oldest. We're not getting much in the way of measured reporting of facts in this case, at least from most media outlets that I've seen. Hopefully it won't take too long to get the grand jury's decision so that the actual murder case can move forward.

A PR team for WHAT?!! This is a criminal matter, which will be adjudicated in a court of law. Their attorney could/should shut all this down. Particularly the minister who’s supposedly the spokesperson for the family.

Has the Metcalf family moved to a gated community, bought a new car, or hired a pr team?

Good question. I am assuming yes, because I was able to locate previous meet records for both young men representing their respective high schools. Both young men had competed at an event for their respective schools as recently as March 22nd (they competed in different things, KA in track events, with AM competing in discus and shot put).

So even tho it hasn't been spelled out that I know of, both young men are on their respective schools track and field teams and both were presumably there to compete. But I have no proof - other than their records at the previous competition just a week or two prior as participants.

Given the police report and all the witness statements, it seems to me that KA was exhibiting extreme paranoia to conduct himself in this manner at 10AM at a District wide track meet.

And reading that he was involved in an altercation at school a month earlier, it's concerning that his parents did not see this coming!

These young, stand-out athletes especially are very susceptible to head injury (playing concussed) while chasing the bling of future contracts they believe they are destined for. I'm beginning to see KA and his family in this light. But let's keep the money rolling in and get a PR team on track with that.

Quite likely! Right now there is no credible evidencein MSM that supports the claim that Karmelo Anthony's family purchased a $150,000 Cadillac Escalade. Reports confirm they raised over $420,000 through crowdfunding for legal defense, a new home, and security due to threats, but no reliable sources mention a car purchase. The claim appears to stem from unverified posts on X, which lack substantiation from established news outlets.

That said IMHO this is not house arrest either. It's an all inclusive vacation and a free-for-all shopping spree. KA is teaching kids that you can murder someone in broad daylight & literally be rewarded with a million dollars. Some kind of self-made, social media made

This was a district wide track meet with 8 schools participating. KA was described as wearing Centennial HS track clothes when he entered the tent belonging to Memorial HS. His parents also stated that KA's the captain of his track and football team. Yes, I think it likely KA was present as a competitor but not seen any official confirmation by his school or the authorities.

I think the silence from anyone official, demonstrates that they have been told to seal everything. Which shows LEO is keeping a tight lid on information. That doesn't bode well for the accused. They are building a case.
