I'd like to see more videos of their arrival as they ascended on the place. Perhaps they parked on the RIGHT 4th level and didn't need the elevator?

I read the ceilings were high so clearing commerical vehicles under 13' 6" shouldn't be a problem and likely a requirement of Unified Building code for that complex built in 2015.

That is strange to me. They would not have been able to continue CPR easily on the stairs. In many buildings near where I live, the security team/person has the key to hold the elevator on a floor for a medical emergency until the EMS team is ready to go. Did the EMS team walk up the four floors? Or, use the elevator?

Several residents there are posting stuff on facebook and twitter showing walk arounds, how the doors work and so forth.

I haven't read anything about the elevators not working although I do recall seeing a 5th search warrant dated the 14th seeking elevator records. I believe it requires a resident key to operate.

I want one of the neighbors to recreate that night. Video pushing open that door with someone standing in the dark 12 feet in.

Somebody besides just the NSA and bookface saved that without any doubt.

After the post was called out as false and condemned by the mayor, the post was deleted.

Yep, good point and with blinds standing opening letting the surrounding city lights in so we can see if that room really could be dark with light coming in from the hallway and open blinds.

I want to see IF one can allow the door to rest just on the case and latch mechanism and it not close. Allowing it to swing from a few to several inches isn't the same as trying to leave it ajar.

What device, OS and browser are you using and can you simply post a link to the facebook page with directions on how and where to find it?

It is not YouTube it is a Facebook video that was live.

It was not deleted. It's still up and there is a link straight to it on here, a few pages back.

Have you seen it, do you have a link you can post and/or can you full page screen shot it?

There is another city council member who has the initial memo about the shooting from the Assistant City Manager. The date and time of the release is not on the copy but the city council member posted it at 11:27 pm on Sept 7 to his Facebook account.

What is the name of that council person?

I haven't seen the link and many here post links, almost seemingly gratuitous, without any indication of what type of subtance the link page contains takes. Makes the content gems easy to overlook.

Yes, I have it. I can screen shot it. I was wondering about TOS of posting the councilman's FB page. Anyone know if I can? Mods?

ETA: I reported my post and am awaiting confirmation.

I do know this much, we haven't been told the "rest of the story".

The more involved a story gets, the less I believe it. Which is why I think Killer is a very sophisticated liar. She has stayed to one story, "I worked a long shift, I was tired, I went to my home, and found a man in my apartment. I shot him.".

The "devil" is in the details...

1. How did she get into his home?
2. Why did she shoot a man when there was no danger to herself?

I can see a "plausible" answer on the door, it was "cracked" ajar, maybe caught on a rug inside, and opened.

Potential answer, she just "reacted" when she saw a large figure in the dark.

For any OIS, a special supervisor needs to be contacted, and let that person take the heat, if procedures are not followed. Often, rank and file folks, just do their jobs, they don't have all of the administrative procedures memorized. That is a supervisory role. If any problem here regarding procedures not being followed, it should be reviewed for future OIS shootings, with specific rules for "off duty" OIS.

“Dallas police needs to send the message that there’s no place for a woman like that,” Jean family attorney Lee Merritt said in a Friday press conference.

It has been the standard practice of the department to await indictment by a grand jury before firing police officers, although there have been situations in the past where an officer was fired prior to the grand jury’s decision.

The attorneys have questioned why police would have including searching for “narcotics” in the affidavit seeking to search Jean’s apartment.

Legal experts say there are valid reasons investigators would have done so.

“When you’re conducting an investigation, the whole point is you’re trying to figure out what happened. You don’t know what’s important,” said Chris Mulder, a Dallas attorney. “You get the warrant out of an abundance of caution and you list in the warrant anything that could possibly be relevant … so that nobody can complain about it later. It’s just good police work.”

The
Excellent post and here is a snippet from the second of the three links you posted, nice research and on point:

“In this case, while it was accidental, it was at least reckless, because the shooter never identified his target,” Diggs said. “When you have no idea whatsoever what your intended target is, you take the responsibility legally – you have now murdered someone.”

He said the Sheriff’s Office consulted with the York County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s office and decided that second-degree murder was the appropriate charge, noting that it includes any homicide that doesn't rise to the level of first-degree murder. The charge carries up to 40 years in prison.

“Had this not been a reckless act, there probably would not have been a second-degree murder charge, or any charge for that matter," Diggs said. How culpable Bartlett actually is is up to a judge or jury, he said.
The quoted case was egregiously overcharged in 2014. The case has been adjudicated with a plea to involuntary manslaughter and a sentence of 18 months in 2016, which was likely time served pending trial. Overcharging by prosecutors can lead to censure, license probation, suspension or revocation by the bar.

Ok Everyone,

I have to close this thread and clean it up. All kinds of TOS violations going on. Don't know how long it will be.

Since this is a local politician's Facebook page and he is discussing the case you can link to his page. It's a public page. If for some reason he has taken it private all of a sudden then no you cannot link to it.

Please no screenshots. Just a link to the page.
Thanks,
Tricia
