I like sites like this, where people can gather and play detective, prosecutor & defense attorney. But I think bringing the whole legal aspect into things, tends to blur reality.
I heard about the Oscar shooting Reva story right when it broke, and my first reaction was that he didn't have a leg to stand on. Pun intended. The initial report of his story sounded ridiculous, and completely illogical. Yet they ended up making this whole big case about it, even though it seemed pretty clear cut to many.
Similar situation here, in that nothing the non-dead person has to say makes sense, and the story being told is somewhat fluid and changing as time goes by. The bottom line is that like Reva, this guy was at home, and through no fault of his own, now he's dead. Like with Oscar, there is no dispute as to who did the killing, only excuses as to why. And again, those excuses are still undergoing change.
What appears to be preferential treatment is extremely angering, and is a sad sign of the times we live in. Were it anybody else, you can bet the investigation and handling of the accused, would be completely different. We'll never know if the color of his skin had anything to do with her actions, unless perhaps that is determined to be relevant by the prosecution. But my feelings would be 100% the same if it had been a white victim. The abuse by police on those who employ them, is what causes such distrust and hatred of them in the first place. Perhaps a time will come in my lifetime(I'm 52), when law enforcement will see the picture, but given that living in L.A., I saw several decades ago when Rodney King got beaten by 7 cops who got away with it, I realize more and more the times don't change.
