I am sure I read reported from a credible source that DPD's policy allows 16 hour shifts.

Right, so the employee/killer is placing blame on her employer for her inability to find her own apartment after work.

Whether or not that is a credible claim, could be in dispute.

I haven't read anywhere that any search warrants for her place was issued and even if it were now, she had 3 days to put her "affairs" in order. The police ballastic vest is interesting and I am sure they will do toxicology on the decedent.

Two bullet casings, a police backpack and vest and 10.4 grams of marijuana were seized from Botham Jean's apartment, where he was fatally shot by a Dallas police officer last week, according to a search warrant affidavit returned this week.

A lunch box, a laptop computer, a metal marijuana grinder, two radio frequency identification keys – the type of keys used to enter units at the South Side Flats, where Jean lived – and two used packages of medical aid were also seized from the apartment.

A source with knowledge of the investigation told WFAA that the marijuana was found out in the open in the apartment. 10.4 grams is less than half of an ounce.

Of course it was found. Did we expect anything different?

Nice, I can see it now, Mr. Jean was at fault for being high in his own home, that is why he did not comply with shouted commands. Less than half an ounce of weed. And we don't even know if it was in the apartment prior to the shooting. The scene was not secure.

I also wonder how much time the Killer had to clean things up before anyone came.

I would like to know who she called after killing Mr. Jean.

Court records obtained Thursday show Dallas police also found, among other things, two fired cartridge casings and 10.4 grams of marijuana in the apartment. The law enforcement officials said the marijuana was on the kitchen counter.

The two shell casings were found just inside the door, indicating that's where Guyger stood when she fired her gun, one official said.

That official said there was no blood by the door to indicate that's where Jean was shot. There was "a small amount along the paramedics' route with Botham.

"But that was mostly outside the apartment," the official said.

I would also say that the Killer's statement that she came home so exhausted from her 15 hour work day, also put her employer on the spot.

Unless they come out, with a unilateral statement that overtime will no longer be permitted.

Police officers mke so much money on overtime, it is crazy. Often, their pension, based on high 3 years of income, can be equal to or more than the retirement for a federal judge!

The officer in this case aside, whatever we pay them....it isn't enough.

One of the warrants became a public record Wednesday afternoon when it was returned to the judge who signed it. It was shortly after Jean’s funeral had ended. It listed several items found in Jean's apartment, including a small amount of marijuana.

There have been several warrants signed by judges and executed in this case aside from the arrest warrant for Guyger and the search warrant signed September 7 that were returned to the court on Wednesday. The others are still sealed and not accessible.

The search warrant executed in Jean’s apartment at South Side Flats specifically sought fired cartridge casings, fired projectiles, firearms, ballistic vests, keys, evidence of blood, video surveillance systems, and contraband such as narcotics and other items used in criminal offenses.

The inventory return yielded:

2 fired cartridge casings

1 laptop computer

1 black backpack with police equipment and paperwork

1 insulated lunch box

1 black ballistic vest with "police" markings

10.4 grams of marijuana in ziplock bags

1 metal marijuana grinder

2 RFID keys

2 used packages of medical aid

The document does not say where any of the items were located in the apartment or who the items belong to.

All this proves is that she indeed barged in to an apartment she had no business being in, and recklessly shot a gun into!
