The dope out in the open may explain why the commands were ignored...maybe he thought it was a bust

Jim, I'm not sure if you're familiar with US laws, but cops can't just bust into our homes and start commanding us to do things without a warrant.

And if he was smoking at the time
The smell should’ve told her she was in the wrong apartment

Well, she may have been too tired to smell anything, since apparently she was too tired to see. /s

Sorry, I'm just incredulous at how ridiculous this is!

Nice, I can see it now, Mr. Jean was at fault for being high in his own home, that is why he did not comply with shouted commands. Less than half an ounce of weed. And we don't even know if it was in the apartment prior to the shooting. The scene was not secure.

I also wonder how much time the Killer had to clean things up before anyone came.

I would like to know who she called after killing Mr. Jean.
Too bad they still are not releasing what those commands were.
I think one was reported to have been: "Show me your hands", which would have been laughable since she admitted she couldn't even see him because she didn't bother to turn on the lights before she started blasting away. She only saw a silhouette.

Why haven't any witnesses come forward to say they heard these commands? She must have shouted them. There were people in close proximity. Almost makes one wonder if her claims of shouting commands, that he didn't obey, is.....................well......................a LIE.

I believe it was reported that she asked to call her partner after killing Mr. Jean. She was allowed to do that.

He had a ballistic police vest yet no other cartridges or even a gun..... ummmm... doesn't sound right. Kinda makes me wonder if that was planted and maybe the weed along with spare key... it stinks to high heavens even without comparing the narrative from the arrest warrant and the search warrant. Those two conflict greatly. Arrest warrant; door was open she shot a sillouette across the room Search Warrant: she fumbled at the door with the key and he opened the door meeting her there.... both warrants sworn

It isn't a crime arime crime scene
She has been charged for the crime that occurred it that apartment, so it is a crime scene.

I don't think she catches on real quick.

The only clue that helped her was when she turned on the light.

All the previous clues that screamed 'wrong apt', went over her head.

the evidence supports amber
The evidence support her story that she shot into a dark apartment without even bothering to see if it was her apartment. Criminal negligence. Especially being a member of the PD.

The list of items found seem strange to me:

Two that really stand out are listed below.
1 black backpack with police equipment and paperwork
1 black ballistic vest with "police" markings

I doubt that most full on known drug dealers have a "ballistic vest with "police" markings" just hanging around their apartment.

Now I'm asking a sincere question here:
How many people here think that there is much of a chance that the police backpack and police vest belong to Mr Jean and if not how did it get in his apartment?

Im flabbergasted. If she was standing in the doorway, she could have just as easily stepped back out. She shot the gun because she had the gun, and without any thought about the life of the person in front of her, selfishly killed him in cold blood thinking she would be supported by law. Even if it was her own place, this kind of thinking and action is unsupportable. MOO

He could have all sorts of stolen goods or contraband in his apartment.

She still violated the law whe she killed him.

SHE is arrested ad accused of at least manslaughter.

He is not accused of any crimes.
