It does in the court of Public Opinion. If he's a bad egg ppl care less. Probably follow the case less. Disgusting
It wouldn't change my opinion. I can't think of another case where everyone was in agreement. I've read all the comments after the articles that have been posted and I haven't found one yet that states they can see why she shot and killed him. The only disagreement is whether or not she should be charged with murder or manslaughter.

Do we know when the grand jury will get this case?

Many landlords, especially ones that own large apartment complexes offer reduced or free rent for Law Enforcement Officers active or retired to provide security. I had asked this last days ago, was she moonlighting as security?
Due to the fact that there was a noise complaint in the morning by the apartment below Botham, did she take it upon herself to follow up on that complaint after she arrived to the complex that night?
Why else would she park on the 4th floor. Not buying the being tired excuse.

I don’t disagree.
However, a new day has dawned, and the composition and power base of the citenzenry has changed. This type of murderous activity will no longer transpire with impunity.
The People will no longer permit this.

Amateur opinion, strong opinion, and speculation only.

I wish I can agree. While ideal, there is a LARGE portion of the country who will villains anyone like Botham due to a blind allegiance to Blue, regardless what statistics, facts, evidence says. <modsnipped off topic>

Like Betty Jo Shelby who got off scott free for straight up murder.

We need accountability and a willingness to work together rather than being on opposite ends.

Snip:
Protest leaders said they want the city to establish a civilian board to review police conduct and that it be given the power to subpoena.

"It must have teeth. It must have subpoena power. It must be able to hold these police officers accountable for what they do," said demonstrator Olinka Green. "Because if we were to do the same thing, you guarantee we'd be locked up tight."

Pepper balls, which usually contain the chemical in pepper spray, should only be used if there is an immediate threat to the public or if a commander at the scene calls for them to be used, Hall said. The projectiles irritate the nose and eyes. End Snip.

Someone has said that on this very thread.

Oh, nice. Subpoena power would be fantastic, among other changes.

From the article:

“officer Amber Guyger said she inserted her key into the door, and it opened because it had been slightly ajar. “

I say bull! How did she fully insert here key in the door if it was ajar without it fully opening from the pressure? Try going to your front door, have it ajar and see if you can fully insert a key (even a card or whatever they use in the apartment building) You have to hold on to the door handle to do that without it opening all the way. Oh boy I hope I am explaining this right. Hopefully you will know what I mean.

I agree.
You cannot place your key, into a slightly ajared door: as you state just touching the door, it would swing open.

So confusing. She lived below him so who else could have complained?

ETA: Wouldn't he been at work during the day?

Good question. We don't know. The kid had no history of problems and wasn't bothering anyone. He was 12 years old.[/
Please reread the case history, which contradicts everything you posted

Sorry, still getting used to new system. To folks who mentioned race in their post, posts were removed but I inadvertently selected other posts at the same time and sent a notation that said "different case, off topic". Please disregard that reason. Your posts were actually removed due to racial discussion.

I wonder how many armed robbers, drug dealers, rapists, child predators, and wife-beaters Amber arrested and safely removed from the streets in her police career. Dallas PD is always hiring.. If anyone is interested
