So confusing. She lived below him so who else could have complained?

ETA: Wouldn't he been at work during the day?
Hi Jax,
My opinion is that she is the only one that complained. It has been stated over and over that it is the apartment directly below Botham, that is her apartment.

I wonder how many armed robbers, drug dealers, rapists, child predators, and wife-beaters Amber arrested and safely removed from the streets in her police career. Dallas PD is always hiring.. If anyone is interested

That's like saying.... I had 4 kids... I took really good care of 3 of them...I did beat 1 to death...but I'm 75% a really good parent.

Well said. I don't care what she before she killed an innocent man.

She was doing the job she was paid for. That doesn't make her a hero.

Even if her "wrong apartment" story is true it was totally unnecessary.

But, I'm reaching the point after hearing about the noise complaints I really wonder if it was rage? Did she go there to argue and instead murdered him?

She killed an innocent person last week. I don't care if she put away every child molester in Dallas. She killed an innocent man with at the very least, reckless behavior. At worst, homicidal.

Out of curiosity.

Do you think the shooting was justified. What sentence or none do you thnk she should get?

Honest opinion, very curious

How does that matter in the unlawful killing of Botham?

Sorry, still getting used to new system. To folks who mentioned race in their post, posts were removed but I inadvertently selected other posts at the same time and sent a notation that said "different case, off topic". Please disregard that reason. Your posts were actually removed due to racial discussion.
As long as you're around, could we please get a new thread as this one is over 1500 posts? Thanks!

Snip:
"I am still in denial...he was so affable -- so sweet. Botham, my Botham."
In a CBS News exclusive, Botham Jean's parents address their son's shooting death at the hands of a Dallas police officer last week; the cop told officers she believed the victim's apartment was her own. End Snip. Video included.

I cannot stop thinking about this innocent man and the lives of his family, friends and all who did not know of him until the ignorant actions of a person sworn to protect and serve.

My heart hurts for all.

So how is it that she was in la la land prior to the shooting, yet in the blink of an eye manage to shoot “in the dark” a shot to the chest then to the abdomen.
I posted the actual photo of Botham’s apartment number that is fully lit right beside the door. So how in the hell did she miss that, the red rug and parking on a floor above her floor.

She allegedly was doing overtime and writing out a report prior to leaving. I believe that the person ( or persons) should contact their attorney and have it investigated due to the fact that she is flying under the cloak of fatigue.
The attorney that Botham’s family hired I hope will call for an investigative review of all of her reports. There is no way that she can with a clear mind write out a report prior to leaving work then turn around and use overtime fatigue as an excuse for murdering an innocent man in his own home.

She wrote out a legal document that is used in a court of law. A powerful document used to determine the fate of the accused (accusers) in that report.
How can that report, or any other reports that she completed be deemed truthful and factual on days that she did overtime be legal and lawful when she claims that she was fatigued from overtime and was clueless to where in the hell she lived?

My opinion only, sorry for the long post. This is a long thread and it is a lot to read, especially if someone is just coming on to this thread. I tried to make this quick, but it ended up longer than I expected.

I think at this point they are just choosing not to say the complaints came from her, specifically.

He was a singer, so he can be quiet and respectful, generally, but also practice singing. I'm sure that's not a quiet activity, and it's likely she could hear him. I mentioned my frustration with a previous neighbor. I would describe her as a quiet person, in general, but her activities were often loud, and it drove me nuts. Of course, I didn't kill her, or even consider it!
Aren't there headsets so you can sing without being overheard? You can certainly play a keyboard with sound out only to a headset.

I think she was the one that had a noise complaint against her.....for the dog. And he left her a note, she got it when she got home and flew into a rage. My speculation.

I live in Dallas county. The ONLY people allowed to enter our apartments are management and maintenance staff. (Or the necessary companies for sprinkler and fire inspections, etc.) They have to give proper notice in doing so. We have a safety/security officer who is an off duty officer. They are not allowed to enter apartments unless specifically called by the apartment and asked to. They do not have access keys. If there is an after hours noise complaint, they tell us to call the non emergency police number and the police will address it. Unless the noise is coming from outside the apartment and they will address that. (Like a pool party, gathering outside...that sort of thing.) I don't know if every apartmen

Does anyone know why Dallas hired a Police Chief from Detroit? Seems odd, given Detroit's crime statistics.

It would have been better to work the case up and send it to the Grand Jury.

Same as in Botham case: The burglar shot the homeowner.
This exact scenario happened a year ago in my city. The burglars didn't give the homeowner time to call 911. They shot him dead in his own driveway
