Found Deceased TX - Delano Burkes, 26, missing after night out with friends, went to use the bathroom, seen running, Houston, 13 Nov 2022

I understand the concern as in some places you could get in trouble for that, but I've never known anyone to get a ticket for taking a piss outside in Houston, but I would love to see the numbers of tickets in Harris County per year for that. Especially at the time this was occuring, 1am on a Sunday night. Chances are next to zero that would ever be an issue. I don't think the bathroom story holds any water, and I am pretty sure in one of the news clips his mom says he was handed a drink while in McIntyre's. Was he so drunk he walked into the girl's restroom and got kicked out? Surely other people were there. I would love to see the footage from the moment he walked in until the minute he left from inside.

Truth! In my younger years before weed was legal, I encountered laced weed a couple of times! It’s one of the big reasons I don’t smoke anymore, even though I know it’s legal and regulated now. I’m in the Midwest - Detroit to be specific.

Anyways, I’m thinking of Delanos family today on thanksgiving. I was hoping he’d be reunited with them by now. I really hope there’s still a chance he’s out there, and will be ok…
Same here with the laced weed. Of course, this was years ago before legalization of it.

I am about an hour West of you in MIchigan so can relate !!

I hope they find Delano soon... I feel so bad for his family and friends.

That does seem to be key.
I assume they have CCTV.
Hopefully LE have scraped it by now.

In the video where it shows him in distress (JMO) there are two people following him - wondering if those are the friends he was with? Why weren't they assisting him?

I didn't realize he had such a large escort out of the bar (it begins at the 1:07 mark).

Delano Burkes' mother speaks out amid continued search

Imo, definitely more than two are visible even in the first footage. I would think there would be definitely be stories to tell, with that many people involved in (or at least witnessing) the one-man exodus. Like others, I'm curious about what happened inside.

[Edit: sorry, idk where that other quote came from]

I've been asking around to see if a friend of a friend was there that night. Eventually I will find someone who was there.

This is scary. I don't feel right about this after watching the video. Has his family said much about what they think of it? Him being a big, strong man doesn't eliminate the possibility of him being a victim of violent crime. Especially if he was intoxicated/ drugged.

Also, is there any basis for the speculation about marijuana use? Of course it's possible that he uses marijuana and possible he accidentally got some laced pot, but, is there any indication/ known history of Delano using drugs?

He was arrested for possession of meth in 2017 but that's the only drug charge on his record. It was dismissed. To me this suggests experimentation instead of habit.

In the first vid where he's at the bar and he's running and appears to maybe put his hand to his belly; to me it looks like he's laughing, like when you put your hand across your belly when you laugh. Probably laughing at the bar staff for kicking him out.

Here's a map of where the bar is located and where a body was found (red pin) Friday morning. The fuchsia line is the path that a body would have taken if it fell/was put into the bayou @ the bar and floated down to Dock 20. I hope it's not him, but I could see him floating that far in 12 days with the rain we've had.

Great work and thanks for doing it!
That's so much clearer than words.

If you search the name of the substance he was arrested for, it was actually MDMA (molly), not meth. MDMA is pretty commonly used among college kids. More mainstream and not as serious as meth IMO. Not that this charge is really that relevant to his disappearance but just wanted to clear that up.

I totally agree with everything you said, particularIy showing grace to his friends when they have not been named as suspects. I also wonder why he didn’t have any ID on his person. Prayers up for his safe return. ✨

It looks like he stops and opens it! I didn't really notice it before. I wonder if his family has seen the longer version or has anyone seen a longer version?
I see that. It does appear that he stops at that truck and a door opens.

OT - Detroit girl here, long time weed smoker, never ever came across any laced weed. Just sayin...

[...]

Karen Jeffley, Burkes' mother, told ABC13 she would not stop until she finds her son. In a new development, Jeffley said she has been receiving calls and was told that Burkes was possibly seen in downtown Houston.

[...]

Newly retrieved video shows Burkes crossing the street shortly after leaving McIntyre's Bar near West 19th Street, seemingly in distress.

Jeffley has seen a few videos of him from that night. "Scary," she said. "Definitely wasn't in his right mind."

[...]

He left his car behind that night, and now, the family is trying to find his cell phone. "We're spending a lot of time trying to get approval to get that ping," she said. "They don't want to ping it unless it's a crime or a life or death situation. They don't consider it that."

Texas EquuSearch is continuing to look for Burkes.

[...]
So if they don’t consider it a life or death situation I wonder if they have some information they are not sharing, which I’m sure is the case.

I live about 4 miles away. The area where he went missing is nice, in a well-established and desirable part of town to live in. The bar is several blocks away from a bayou with a miles-long park on both sides that bisects the area. Not sure how well-lit that area of the park is at night.
young and poss intoxicated male and nearby water :(

This pretty much recaps everything that has been released but was the latest thing I found online regarding this case.

I am still very confused by the whole stopping at Mcyntires to use the bathroom narrative. All the bars in this area are walking distance so which bar were they initially at that they were driving from? Mcyntires is a very popular bar and has notoriously long bathroom lines. They even have porta potties set up outside because the lines get so long. It’s not a type of place you’d just stop at to use the bathroom..I feel like the friends aren’t telling the true story. Maybe to protect Delano or themselves..

I've been wondering if there is possible mental health issues stemming from his years playing football. Just a thought.
