Kind of wanted to say. Since no one has been officially cleared in the case, nor a suspect, I think it is fine to view Sergio’s involvement from “a usual percentage” situation perspective. 46% involved, 54%, not. Then it will be easier and open us to other options as well. Truth is often straightforward but thinking of the possible reasons, we may not be able to weigh in all situations. Is it “who profits?” case or a “revengeful anger” one? I always felt, the second. Liz could have been the innocent victim, btw, but the person’s reconstruction of the situation sucked.

I think that is a great way to look at it. Sometimes its best to just go back to basics. overall- 75-80% it was someone Liz knew; which makes this even more remarkable considering there is so much video.

Someone she must of knew, well, at that— right?

Given that it was just a few minutes after her husband left.. & since she was doing something out of her routine (garage sale)— so it would of been someone that had to of known about those 2 things … right?

This one was interesting, some new stuff (at least to me).

Ritchie, "We do have a few evidentiary items and things that we are keeping close to the vest because we have to keep things, some of this confidential.

It will help in the trial portion of it, but it's not helping us find out who did it yet."

This quote stood out especially on the heels of the Adelson conviction and how important every piece of the puzzle is key to securing the most important thing: a conviction.

I need to watch again but he talks about the lengths they've gone to identify a suspect. What worked, what didn't. i.e. the Geofence, how long it took to get it, how it didn't identify anyone. The grand jury supeona.

How he was unhappy Sergio was able to view the crime scene. Some people it sounds like have been ruled out.

Sargent Ritchie is doing outstanding work on the case, however, I wondered about this (new info - Id not heard of this before). I am sure he is keeping as much of the investigation private as he should be. Interesting.

And definitely Sergio and Liz were two of those people that were doing good things there. But there was mention of this one guy that had kind of outed himself and he had had an issue with Liz and Sergio. He had acted out at a Christmas party right before the murder had happened. And and and um and he was uh he was a gun person. He was really good with guns, very knowledgeable. He was like a professional shooter and all this. So, it seemed like all that would line up, but then I do research on him, the guy's a big dude. He's like 6'5 6'6. And when you see the video, there's no way that person is 6'5 6'6. They're they're probably under six foot. Um, you know, cuz Liz wasn't very tall and they look maybe a little bit taller than Liz. So, I kind of ruled that out. I'm like, there's no way that that it's going to be him.

• Early Morning [Approximately 02:00 AM] Black Nissan Frontier observed on neighborhood cameras driving by Liz’s house.
• Early Morning [06:08:15 AM] Liz drives to the local Starbucks to get a coffee.
• Early Morning [06:16:05 AM] Liz arrives home to begin setting up for Garage Sale (VIDEO).
• Early Morning [06:17:00 - 6:47:00 AM] Liz and Sergio start arranging items outside on the driveway.
• Early Morning [06:47:50 AM] The Nissan Frontier arrives and pulls into the neighborhood Princeton Place Drive from Kuykendahl Road and then drives into the Goddard School parking lot.
• Early Morning [06:48:00 AM] The Nissan Frontier leaves the Goddard School parking lot to conceal on a different street.
• Early Morning [06:48:00 AM] Sergio leaves the property to go to work, in a white panel van.
• Early Morning [06:51:40 AM] The Nissan Frontier comes back into view and heads towards the Barraza home.
• Early Morning [06:52:12 AM] The murderer does a 3-point turn on Cedar Walk, parks behind Liz’s car, and then exits walking towards the driveway where Liz is still setting up.
• Early Morning [06:52:20 - 06:52:50 AM] Liz says “Good Morning” and then the murderer speaks to her for about 6 seconds. There are 3 quick shots and then a fourth shot delivered point blank once Liz has collapsed to the driveway. (This incident in all takes approximately 30 seconds.)
• Early Morning [06:53:10 AM] The murderer sprints back to the truck and leaves.

• Early Morning [Approximately 03:00 AM] The Transplant team comes to take Elizabeth down for donation. Her Parents, Brother, Sister-in-Law, Sergio, his mother Margarita, and members of the immediate family walk with her down the hallway to the elevator. Her generosity saved 4 lives, and gave 1 other the gift of sight.

I had believed that the assassin’s vehicle had been spotted on the neighbors camera that recorded the murder had been recorded going by her house hours before the murder. Apparently that was not true. According to Det Ritchie the truck had been recorded in the neighborhood several hours earlier. This was recorded in another area of the neighborhood on a camera or cameras not on the street Liz lived on. I find this perplexing. Could this assassin just have been looking for a random target? Looking for an easy and defenseless target for unknown reasons? Could there have been no relationship to Liz or her husband?

I heard that first on the approved Crime Junkie episode, but they messed some other fact up, nice to hear it directly from Ritchie.

The vehicle did not pass by Liz's house the night before. It's interesting because her father's theory is they drove by the house the night before to see what Sergio would be driving. Sometimes he drove a van, sometimes his work truck.

I suppose they could creep at the end of the street and see the white van? In one interview her dad also mentions the way they drove by.

or it means THE KILLER ALREADY knew what he would be driving.

Ritchie doubles down about the random. Too many knowns.

IIRC, the actual perp got out on the passenger side of the truck. Big 6'6 dude could have been the driver, easily identifiable due to his height, so he had a wife/girlfriend/SO do the dirty work.

Sargent Ritchie stated in the interview that the perp exited and entered the vehicle from the drivers side. It is unknown if there were other occupants. It has been a long time since I have watched the video. I do not remember what door to the vehicle was used.

Yeah ... probably just me viewing it differently. In the video HERE, (at about the :40 timestamp) it is kind of hard to tell as there is a tree blocking full view of the truck as the person exits.

I hope they have better video available than that. I would guess that video was edited. To my eyes it did not show the perp exiting or entering the vehicle. I find it curious that initially the news reports were describing the perp as a woman.

100% agree.

I also wanted to add, that people who are good shooters/snipers train how to shoot. And often, they train with their girlfriends/wives. Or remember Kaitlin Armstrong, who bought a gun and started training to shoot with her sister? It is a common thing, something that the instructors encourage. So his GF/female acquaintance/relative could have been trained well.

Hello! New member here. I had a little bit of a hunch about this case and just wanted to ask a question. Does anyone know if Liz was trained in light saber combat (or martial arts or generally) or if she organised any swordfighting events?

After listening to Sergeant Ritchie and knowing what his clearance rate is and him being a veteran LEO, I took everything he said as gospel. I do believe that this person knew she would be off of work that day and would be home and they knew he would be going to work. They knew approximately when he was going to leave as well. They also knew to use a revolver and use a vehicle that was hard to trace. If this car was not available to rent and they could not find one that was registered that was the right match for the one seen on camera and there were none reported stolen in that area at that time, then they either borrowed it or drove it a long way, possibly out of state. When he says he told her parents to be prepared to be devastated, that gave me some chills.
