Yes, it seems LE is targeting the parents but yet continually update the press to say LE believes Hailey is a runaway and is "Hiding".

Can't help but think back on what Marc Klaas said on his blog:

Until Jan. 3, a week after she disappeared on December 27, 13-year-old Colorado City, TX middle school cheerleader Hailey Dunn was classified as a runaway. Police Chief John Bevins declaration has been parroted by local media, most notably local radio station owner Jim Baum, who told the local NBC affiliate, "To tell you the truth, this is the first time, and I've been here 30 years, that we've had a runaway like this. It's so uncommon”.
Calling a missing child a runaway has always been law enforcement’s fallback position. It allows them to defer responsibility and puts the onus of recovery on the shoulders of the family, because runaways are considered a family issue. This action also reflects an exaggerated and distorted sense of what is happening to America’s children.

It's entirely possible that if someone is guilty of removing or harming HD that they have given information that would lead LE to believe she is a runaway.... when in reality .... she is not.

Good morning, I have been thinking about BO's work schedule. Shawn moved into Billie's residence 4 1/2 months ago. I know we can't get ahold Billie's work schedule but since she worked in a nursing home, she must have worked nights which left Shawn in charge.

Anyone hear if SA and BO celebrated Xmas Day with Shawn's family?

Well...let's see....family not being truthful. Mom and her live-in bf/fiance fail polygraphs....for some reason (untruthful family member/s) LE can't be sure when Hailey disappeared (I've always believed it was Sun.)...yet, we are to believe every word uttered by BD?? And accuse LE of all sorts of stuff because NG says so?? Illegal because they took BD's phone?? Really??

Hailey could always call her dad or grandmas or a friend or LE if she is a runaway and wants to come back. IF SA is the reason she ran, then hearing mom say that SA can come back when Hailey returns..I doubt she wants to call mom. BD needs to put on her big girl panties and tell LE the truth...if she hasn't...and stop whining about "Matt" and how her faith is shattered in polygraphs.

At this point, I definitely believe Dean over BD. Or SA. Or CD.

Possibly because of what they were being told by family and friends,and things on her ms they felt she had runaway.They were going to be given polygraphs whether they wanted them or not.LE also has records of any kind of cases that showed someone might not be truthful in a situation,so there could be questions of people's honesty,etc.

JMO again...I might could accept LE would think she had runaway maybe for the first 24 hours, maybe the first 48, but this is a child who left home in a t-shirt, sweatpants, flip flops and earrings. This 13 year old girl who supposedly ran away, did not take a change of clothes, shoes, hair products, curling iron, makeup,purse or money, nothing according to reports. (My kid left for a 3 day weekend and took 3 suitcases). LE stated there was no evidence of an abduction..well, there isn't any evidence that it wasn't, so err on the side of caution. When hours turned into days and after local LE had refused assistance from some neighboring counties, Texas Rangers arrived and IIRC it was reported it was at the request of BD.
Anyone can refuse to comply with LE's request to sit for a polygraph. It's your constituitional right to remain silent.

I don't think [or I really don't want to think] the entire family was involved in Hailey's disappearance. I do however believe there was a marking event, an event big enough to registrar emotionally and/or mentally on each member of the family, that pertains to Hailey and has added a level of "guilt" into their dynamic [and into the polys].

I can't speculate what that is for all I am doing is speculating.

I know that no one is perfect, there is not a "perfect family", and I see that the family still has an opportunity to speak about this with LE even if they do not believe this the reason or cause of Hailey not being home.

There are too many cases lately where the family is trying make sure all their closets are shut to obscure their skeletons, but again... nothing at this point is MORE IMPORTANT than bringing your child back home.

Yes, and we all know how reliable NG is. If they didn't actually speak to the Rangers, then I don't consider it credible that the Rangers were called in by the parents. Or the FBI and Secret Service for that matter.

IIRC BD did notify the Texas Rangers requesting their help as was reported on NG.
Nothing has been said about BD calling the Secret Service or the FBI.

LOL,I know what you mean,my girls wouldn't go anywhere without bags of something.So it makes no sense to me why a teen girl wouldn't be carrying at least a purse with her to go overnight.I just don't see it.I can only think right now of when the ballet dancer left the house without her phone and purse and it was her bf who had taken her out of the house.They've found no evidence of foulplay like that,but what I'm saying is it's so unusual for teens not to carry anything.

So, has Marc Klaas shown up in Texas, yet? BD's friend says she spoke to them. IIRC. Sitting on NG's show, throwing out criticism seems rather unproductive. Hope this doesn't get me booted from here. I know MK is revered on this site....and, I believe he has done wonderful things....but, I also differ with him, frequently. This case is one of them. Sorry

not a professinoal but i think that a poly can be refused.

I'm not a professional either, but from following case after case I am confident in saying that no way, no how can anyone be made to take a poly against their own will. A court doesn't even recognize a poly, so there is no legal basis that can compel someone to take it... it's just an investigative tool that LE can use, if a person is willing to be wired up for it.

I'm one of those that would never be willing to take one...

It is also my opinion that the family may be giving completely inconsistent statements, but I do not think they (the parents CD and BD) are intentionally not telling the truth. I would not wish this horrible situation on anyone and would bearly know my own name if my child was missing.

On that bigcountry site, Dean is quoted as saying they don't know if H went missing Sunday, Monday or even Tuesday...does this rule out the phone call on Monday? Maybe not, but it adds to the mess...
