And keep the missing poster as my profile pic on FB.

Just a little thought on earrings and babies...

I have a 6 month old who loves to play with my hair. She has never shown any interest in my earrings but I do wear small gold hoops (which I sleep in and wear continuously). Even if she did show interest, she would only now (at the age of almost 7 months) be able to really try to pull at them or play with them.

I don't think the baby in question hear was old enough on Christmas eve to play with these small little hoop earrings. If the baby was under 4 months of age, NO WAY Jose.

So the burning question is.... Does anyone know how old CD's baby was on Christmas eve? :)

Is it possible she had more than one pair of similar earrings?

You know, I had the exact same thought because people often buy earrings in multiple amounts, especially at Christmas. So if she lost one, she might have just popped in an extra of the same color.

I'm about at the point where I think these earrings are a "red" herring. My daughter is ten years older than Hailey but leaves her earrings laying around everywhere, the floor, the table, the bathroom. She left a package of new earrings on our piano when she went back to Law School after Christmas. And even if she told my husband to look for an earring, he wouldn't really know what he was looking for because he's clueless about such things.

Not making excuses for anyone and of course the earring might turn out to be significant, but unless they find the other earring somewhere strange I can't see this being too important. If the girl spent the night at her father's and left one earring there, it wouldn't seem that strange to me.

I wonder if CD and SA had the same dealer for all the marijuana they smoked. Just curious.

I mean, can a small town like Colorado City have more than one dealer?

Yes it was. CD was busted for the weed they found in the house.

Only thing I found was this: http://www.reporternews.com/news/2011/jan/08/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/

A search of website publicdata.com reveals no criminal histories for Billie Jean Dunn or for Shawn Adkins. Clint Dunn, however, has multiple arrests, starting in 1994 for burglary of a building, a state jail felony. Following that are subsequent arrests in 1998 for possession of marijuana, under 2 ounces, one in March 1999 for driving with a suspended license.

He was arrested again Jan. 30, 2010, by Snyder police for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces. And he was arrested at his home Dec. 29, again for possession of marijuana under 2 ounces, and a Scurry County warrant.

Nothing about searching CD home with his g/f.

IF you have another link that says CD house was searched ... give me a hint or something. TIA

By 3 p.m., almost 50 volunteers had signed on to help with the search, organized by two national organizations — the KlaasKids Foundation and the Laura Recovery Center for Missing Children.

"It makes me happy," said Clint Dunn, Hailey's father. He was at the Colorado City

Civic Center to greet and thank the volunteers Wednesday morning.

"I had to come down here and see with my own eyes that there are angels," he said.

In the afternoon, Billie Jean Dunn wept openly after volunteers gathered around her and said a prayer for her daughter. Later, she thanked the volunteers.

"Thank you to all the crews that are working," she said. "We want to find Hailey happy and smiling again." <snipped>

They arrested him for old warrants. Not for smoking pot. In one of NGs first videos BD said that his house had never been searched and she wanted to know why.

I don't see what any of that has to do with finding Hailey. But that's just me.

Can anyone tell me why a kid would want to stretch their earring holes to just a little bigger guage? Is it that the earring is bigger and looks cooler, or is it to stretch out a too small of an original piercing? It must not be in style much in my texas town, becuase I've only noticed a few college age guys going around with a big hole in their ears, and definitely no girls.

I see it around here, both boys and girls, and I live in a very tiny farm town. They do it to make a bigger hole, sometimes they are big enough to flip a quarter through. Luckily, my DD only wants to color her hair every shade of the rainbow. I'm not a fan of the big holes in the ears.

The news said the baby is 3 months old.

In November Hailey said on her fb they were having a baby shower for her little sister,so sometime before that she was born. It's January. Not sure how long before the baby shower she was born.

If they never searched his house at the start, that is strange. I can't see why they wouldn't. But, I didn't understand why he still hadn't been given a poly a week after Hailey was reported missing (he said that he had volunteered). It's so unusual; you all always give the parents a poly right off the bat, unless one refuses. The only reason I could come up with was that they didn't suspect him at all and figured his drug use would render inconclusive results so they let it go. Still seems weird though. Maybe he laid off the pot and has taken one since then and we just don't know. Curious situation.

I've started a general discussion thread about ear stretching and the like to give people a space to pursue that off-shoot discussion.
