I'm watching the rerun of the Nancy Grace show and I thought Billie just said that Hailey had been wearing the new earrings every day for a week or so.

Yep - I posted the correction earlier, but thanks for reposting. :)

Well, just me, but CD is her dad and his house wasn't searched (that I can find) and he hasn't taken a LDT and her earring (as reported) was found in his g/f house where he lived, but ... whatever. Just me.

I agree... and Billie stressed that she wouldn't let her wear a bigger gauge. Maybe, daddy bought bigger gauge earrings for xmas?

By 3 p.m., almost 50 volunteers had signed on to help with the search, organized by two national organizations — the KlaasKids Foundation and the Laura Recovery Center for Missing Children.

"It makes me happy," said Clint Dunn, Hailey's father. He was at the Colorado City

Civic Center to greet and thank the volunteers Wednesday morning.

"I had to come down here and see with my own eyes that there are angels," he said.

In the afternoon, Billie Jean Dunn wept openly after volunteers gathered around her and said a prayer for her daughter. Later, she thanked the volunteers.

"Thank you to all the crews that are working," she said. "We want to find Hailey happy and smiling again." <snipped>

After reading this article, I have to say that I am happy that these searches are now being organized and conducted by two highly professional organizations with a lot of know-how and experience. IMO, this is what should have happened from day one, and a lot of time and person-hours have been wasted because the previous searches were disorganized. I am glad to see both CD and BD out there talking and interacting with the volunteers. Marc Klaas has things well in hand and is being an advocate for Hailey and Hailey's parents. This is what CD and BD have needed from the get-go and will make a world of difference. JMHO

I see it around here, both boys and girls, and I live in a very tiny farm town. They do it to make a bigger hole, sometimes they are big enough to flip a quarter through. Luckily, my DD only wants to color her hair every shade of the rainbow. I'm not a fan of the big holes in the ears.

BBM

O/T -or anywhere else on their bodies!!!! I've seen some kids with so many holes I don't know how they can drink a glass of water. I even call one of her friends "The little Dutch boy" - lol. Of course I had to explain the story to all of them when I did it - and they laughed and laughed and my nickname for him stuck. Kids.............go figger

Here we go. This is Texas. We take our time.

Good. I'd rather hear about TX rather than Ohio or Iowa or NC or SC or AR or any of our great states (all that is really interesting and much appreciated) but HAILEY went missing in TX. I'd rather stick to TX laws.

Okay, but the FBI must have a reason for NOT searching his house. Obviously LE knows all about his past history.

I find it hard to believe the house wasn't searched. If he gave permission for it and didn't ask for a warrant there would be no record of it.

There's no history of any violence towards Hailey either that I've seen anywhere. By all accounts she had a pretty good relationship with her Dad, except for maybe some tension which isn't that rare for teenage girls no matter how ideal the situation (and we know this wasn't an ideal situation, but that's not just CD's fault). I guess it's not just you, because I find it at best odd CD's house wasn't searched. I'm a little hazy on the details of when exactly this went from runaway to abducted, but I do know the story was she was going to her dad's, and when LE began searching, they should have searched both parents' homes. It would be different if the dad lived too far away for her to walk, but apparently he is right across a field.

Can anyone tell me why a kid would want to stretch their earring holes to just a little bigger guage? Is it that the earring is bigger and looks cooler, or is it to stretch out a too small of an original piercing? It must not be in style much in my texas town, becuase I've only noticed a few college age guys going around with a big hole in their ears, and definitely no girls.

It's just a personal style thing. All my friends were doing it when I was younger (punk/metal scene) but I never really got it. Fairly common these days. I think a lot of it originated from various subcultures/counterculture, but it's become more and more mainstream over time.

They arrested him for old warrants. Not for smoking pot. In one of NGs first videos BD said that his house had never been searched and she wanted to know why.

Too bad, so sad for Billie. Clint hasn't been named a suspect in the disappearance of his daughter.....her live in lover has. The one she just spent an "awesome" past 6 months with. So...she can just keep on guessing. Maybe someone will explain it to her.

I know I know - I'll stop - I'm sorry - ok off to the corner I go........................

So, I'm taking the tech guy's quote about SA's phone pinging in Stark as a "mis-speak" and he actually meant Snyder.

lmao. Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Ear stretching! :floorlaugh:

I don't think he would ever hurt her. I would just like to know why him and girlfriend say that they don't remember if HD went to their house that day? When they only live a block away and can see the front of the house.

I can't imagine LE not searching the house where Hailey was said to be going...that seems like it would be automatic. And maybe they would have found the earring at that time, if it was really there.

Well ... you and me... are just us. I keep searching for a link in MSM about CD's house searched and I can't find doodley. He was arrested, at his g/f HOUSE, after HD went missing for an outstanding warrant from Scurry county (which is not the county where he lived (past tense) since his g/f and he got kicked out for .... more pot, and he wasn't supposed to be there for her section 8 housiing reasons, etc. Sigh and :( about Hailey

By all accounts, she never went to her Dad's house. And for that matter, she never went to her friend's house either, and in fact, there was never a plan for her to spend the night with her friend.

The sleepover story didn't come from CD, but from SA, and he supposedly was the last one who actually saw her. That's his story - no one forced him to tell it that way. He also told the story about Hailey saying she was going to walk to her Dad's, but considering the source, that was probably a lie also.

There's a reason many of us are looking at SA instead of the Dad. It's all about his story and how it doesn't check out.

Let's also think about this: CD has a past of small-time drug abuse (not that unusual in the world). SA has a history of small-time drug abuse (on video!) but also collecting freaky horror movie costumes, a fascination with knives, and says he threatened Hailey before. Sounds like the right suspect to me! JMOO :cow:

Colorado City Manager Pete Kampfer said it is common practice to remove a child when a situation like this occurs, just to protect DD.

http://www.ktxs.com/news/26545922/detail.html

I am a Guardian As Litem in the state of Florida. We are assigned to children who have been taken from their parents, children whose parents have been arrested, foster children or children who become wards of the state. At this time I have 2 cases. One is a boy who will soon be 18. He was "Baker Acted" by his mom and then she refused to pick him up from the hospital. Therefore, he became a ward of the state and lives in a special group home which is about 200 miles away from his mom. She comes to visit him but will not be allowed to have him back until he ages out of the system at 18. We are trying to get him to attend all of his classes and complete all of his work and he may be given "Independent Living Status". This program will pay him to attend school until he gets his GED. My other case is 2 brothers who were taken from their mom because she was arrested for a DUI while they were in the car with her. They live at and attend the same school as the other boy. They are half brothers and one is 14 and the other is 12. They are also from the same small rural town as the other boy. The mothers both have case plans that they have to follow according the the Division of Children and Families.

The job of the Guardian Ad Litem is to look after the interest of the children. Listen to their wishes and attend all court appearances. During the process the Judge will ask me to tell her/him my opinion as well as the child's wishes. I also fill out monthly visitation reports and I am required to talk to all adults who come in contact with these children.

Anyway...I am hoping that there is a program like this in Texas. DD needs someone who look after his best interest and listen to his wishes.

DEAR GOD..PLEASE BRING HAILEY HOME TO THOSE WHO LOVE HER!

I don't think Clint should be named a suspect based on anything we know. I am however curious about some of the vagueness surrounding the investigation where he is concerned. Curious, not suspicious. I think LE has good reasons, but I have an inquiring mind! Having said that, I feel it's quite possible that there has been a boatload of evidence against SA from the start, things we don't know about yet. They may have ruled out some of those close to Hailey very quickly after honing in on SA. To name someone a suspect as quickly as LE did with SA says a lot to me. :twocents:

Not even going there, but I appreciate the open discussion about stuff like that. I know nothing about ear stretching ... thus my laughter. No one I've ever known, for all the years I've lived on this earth and all the folks I've known, has ever, ever done that. Each to their own?
