I must be missing something because I don't think the public announcement that Billie is no longer a POI in the disappearance of her daughter changes much of what we've doing here or the efforts to find Hailey. IIRC, she never was publicly announced as being a POI in the first place (though the affidavits kinda made it a no-brainer). I could see Billie pushing LE to make a public statement to that effect; a lot of what she's done throughout the case has centered around how she is being perceived by the public.
So, if Kampfer says on behalf of LE that Billie is no longer a POI in her daughter's disappearance, I'm taking that as confirmed. Maybe she took another poly and ruled herself out (that would be excellent news - great for Hailey). Maybe SA's poly indicated that Billie was uninvolved in the disappearance of Hailey. Maybe LE suspects Billie of other related activities/crimes, but not the disappearance itself. Maybe they fear she will lawyer up if they didn't make a public statement that she wasn't a POI (hard enough to get solid info from the players in this case without adding another lawyer). The status of the players is bound to change with time, new developments and as evidence emerges in the investigation. Sometimes LE can't find out who all is involved until one person cracks... LE has always said there were several POIs, so I think they believe whatever happened to Hailey was carried out by more than one person. I hope they crack someone soon and find Hailey even sooner!
What I'd still really like to know is how much forensic testing was done in the house (before the couches were removed), what evidence was found in the car, and what Hailey did on Sunday 12/26 for all the unaccounted hours in Billie's time line (when Hailey was outside of the house and on surveillance). (Im)patiently awaiting some tangibles in this case!
