to play 'devil's advocate' NamUs will often list an UID as multiple potential races if they are not 100% sure or not sure what the person would have identified as. Listing him as White/Hispanic makes it so that he will show up when searching for missing boys of both ethnicities. I agree he looks Hispanic but you never know how his family identifies and what they'd file him as missing under.
(I'm Eurasian and sometimes I wonder what NamUs would list me as if I ever come up as an UID :p)

I have noticed Hispanic UIDs tend to get listed as White/Hispanic. It's difficult since "Hispanic" is not a race. His family could have him listed on reports as white, Hispanic, Latino, non-white Hispanic, white Hispanic, or something else. It's possible he and his family identified as white, or that they didn't. Impossible to know.

I'm mixed white and Filipino and have wondered this myself too :P I think I look Asian enough for people to say, well, is she 100% white or something else if they found my remains.

Waldemar Tiul Ac - 15 y.o. who ran away from an "immigration placement sponsor home". 5'3-5'5. Last seen 12/20/2021 in Dallas, TX.
Nelson Yovany Chub Tzi - 16 y.o. last seen 12/13/2021 at his uncle's house in Culpeper, VA. 5'3-5'5.
Alexander Perez Mendez - 17 y.o. last seen leaving his sponsor guardian's residency on 12/03/2021 in Culpeper, VA. 4'5-5'3.
I don't know what the hell is going on is Culpeper, 4 hispanic teens have gone missing from there days apart from either "guardian's houses" or uncle's houses. Are they related or something? It's weird.

David Rodas Paralta Jr. - Last seen 09/03/2021 in Houston, TX. 16 y.o. 5'0-5'5.

I'm surprised this poor guy hasn't been ID'd yet! Hopefully soon! :(

Someone on Facebook had this suggestion, what do you guys think? I think it's possible if he had lost a good deal of weight (at least 20-30lbs) since all the photos were taken, but idk. Would be great if anyone could find better quality photos!
Josue David Guerra Ramirez - DLC July 2021, 5'2"-5'3", 100-300lbs (thanks namus), no tattoos listed, lost crossing the border between Mexico and Texas.

edit: someone has suggested that Josue is actually this UID from August in the same city, which is a good suggestion, except I think we have photos of Josue's black Nikes and was wearing black pants, and the UID has grey Nikes/jeans. I think?? these are two different shoes and not sun-bleached shoes (it would have only been one month).

The "white" designation goes way back to the 19th Century prior to the Civil War.
It allowed residents in former Mexican territories to be awarded full US citizenship upon annexation in the United States.
It was part of a treaty and "white" designation was the only option that worked at the time.

In the first half of the 20th Century, it similarly persisted for immigration purposes.

I'm inclined to think this guy was local. Transients or teenage runaways would seem unlikely to splurge on a custom haircut when they get into town. The haircut was quite recent and, although it's not clear which one, the star design seems reasonably likely to be in support of a Texas sports team. MOO

I didn't mention Hispanic.

It's clear that this man has zero or negligible European ancestry. He is not white and describing him as such is surely harmful to efforts to identify him.

I agree that it can be confusing if you consider white skin as European ancestry. But it's much more complicated than that. It can also create confusion the longer a UID remains unidentified. For instance, (see link below) this woman's DNA shows her ancestry as mostly Inuit and to a lesser degree European. But look at her. If she had remained unidentified and only been identified as white based on her superficial physical appearance it would have created problems when it came to eliminating matches.

Houston is known for being one of the most ethnically and culturally diverse metropolitan areas in the country. Roughly 30 minutes from the Gulf of Mexico where immigrants from all over the world arrive. He could be from anywhere.

no movement on his case... the FB post has stopped getting noticed as well. I'm going to mention Josue Ramirez to namus just in case (facially he's okay but I think he'd have to have lost ~50lbs since those photos were taken to be 112lbs), if anything to drum up some law enforcement attention to this guy.

Here's a reconstruction I did, I don't believe it's as good as Victoria's however.

I can't believe this young man still hasn't been identified. I'm wondering if his family are aware of his death but may be undocumented and are afraid to come forward to claim his body. That said, though, if he was in school or a local you'd think someone would recognize him without knowing his immigration status.

I believe people (friends, family) may indeed know him, however they may not have the ability to come forward or not know how to.

Here's an interesting study regarding suicide and suicide ideation among Hispanics and Latinos. The study mentions higher degrees of suicide among Puerto Rican Hispanics than those from Mexican or Cuban descent.

Suicide among Hispanics in the United States

It's very much a generalization but what if this young man is from PR and no one knows he is deceased. Would PR be included in releasing information regarding areas that are predominantly Hispanic?

The shaved star on the side of his head suggests either Houston Astros or Dallas Cowboys fan to me. Looks more like the Cowboy star actually.

The decedents stature and facial characteristics suggest (to me) lineage from Mexico's Yucatan peninsula. In other words, he looks Mayan to me.

So sad, so young. Bless his soul.

ETA: Aha! Look what I found:
Houston Texans Scores & Schedule | FOX Sports
He was likely at the Houston Texans game and something went down there.
The star is part of the Houston Texans logo too

Amateur opinion and speculation

I agree. I get a Central American "vibe".
I would not be surprised if he was a recent arrival. (But probably didn't arrive by himself..haircut, clothes etc)
Haircuts are haircuts and people pick up fads quickly.
He looks 18-20 yo to me. Maybe his family is afraid to come forward. JMO....MOO....

Just noticed NAMUS puts him 13-19...
If under 18, he would probably have friends looking for him.
If over 18, he could slip through the radar.

I agree...
Esp, if they are recent arrivals, they may be reluctant.

Have some missing kids from TX that are ID possibilities but I can't find any info on them, or if they are even still missing o_O Please compare with the post-mortem and let me know!
Junior Rodas Peralta - DLC Sept 2021, 17, 5'0".

Mateo Garcia - DLC Jan 7 2021, 17, 5'0". This seems to be the only photo available.

Scott Saiz - DLC July 2021, 17, height unknown.

Elmer Tut-Choc - DLC July 2021, 15, height unknown. This pic looks very edited and brightened so I believe his actual skin tone is darker...

Only Mateo Garcia is in NCMC
Found these:

Have you seen this child? Rudi Coc-Beb
NCMC1425396c1.jpg

Have you seen this child? Juan Choc Maquin

I'm not really a fan of "look alikes"
Juan Choc does have resemblance. He's missing from Brownsville since July 2021.
I dunno about the haircut thing, if he was a runaway. But then again, he could simply have family in Houston and could have been staying with them. Hence, the haircut etc.
No info is given about the disappearance.

Rudi is from the Houston area. (Montgomery County)
Both boys appear to be Hispanic, but I'm thinking their names have an indigenous component.

I was poking around FB and there are "Chocs" from Guatemala City. It seems like many of them last posted their profile pics in Mid-2018 and stopped posting afterward.
Makes me think they may have put their pics on for safe keeping and then maybe taken a journey and decided to avoid social media afterward.
(OK..crazy speculation)
